Strengths:
• Good height and bulk with some growth potential
• Terrific athlete with excellent quickness and agility
• Very good speed with some explosion and a burst
• Utilizes a variety of pass rush moves and counters
• Capable of shooting gaps to penetrate backfields
• Violent hand use to take on blockers / disengage
• Shows decent range to make plays outside box
• Offers both positional and schematic versatility
• Relatively durable with quite a bit of experience
Weaknesses:
• Short arms and small hands, which has limitations
• Inconsistent and motor tends to run hot and cold
• Isn't strong enough at point to anchor versus run
• Lacks necessary power to handle the double-team
• An underachiever with a questionable work ethic
• Wasn't real productive despite average competition
Injury History:
• Underwent surgery for foot injury prior to the 2008 season
• Missed some action but no games with a foot injury in 2011
• Limped off at spring game in 2011 with a left ankle ailment
Notes:
Was a three-year starter for the Broncos --- Named 2nd Team All-WAC in 2009, 2010 and 2011 --- Could project to defensive tackle in a 4-3 (three-technique) or to defensive end in a 3-4 (five-technique) --- The type who looks like Tarzan but all too often plays like Jane --- Talented enough to start at the next level but might not have the intangibles to ever fully capitalize on that considerable potential --- Boom or Bust.
