Strengths:

• Adequate arm strength to make all necessary throws
• Shows solid touch, timing, accuracy and anticipation
• Stands tall in the pocket and will keep eyes downfield
• Makes solid decisions and takes care of the football
• Competitive and is tough both physically and mentally
• Mature and extremely intelligent w/ great work ethic
• A respected leader who teammates will rally around
• Still developing and has a lot of untapped potential
Weaknesses:
• Doesn't have a lot of starting experience under center
• Inconsistent mechanics, footwork, delivery, release point
• Raw reading coverages and going through progressions
• Small hands (9") which could lead to ball security issues
• Tended to struggle late in games and was not a closer
• Battled injuries so health / durability may be a concern
Injury History:
• Missed time w/ separated shoulder as senior in high school
• Surgery to repair fractured metatarsal in foot in January '12
Notes:
Was a four-year starter for the Aggies (2½ at WR and 1½ at QB) and served as a team captain --- Began career in College Station as a quarterback before moving to wide receiver in 2008 then eventually back to quarterback in 2010 --- Was team's leading receiver in 2008 and 2009, finishing college career with 112 receptions for 1,596 yards (14.3 avg) and 10 touchdowns --- Set single-season school records for passing yards, attempts and completions in 2011 and is second in touchdown passes and total offense --- Only player in FBS history to post a 400 yard passing game and a 200 yard receiving game --- Only player in FBS history to total more than 4,000 passing yards and 1,500 receiving yards in a career --- Earned a bachelor's degree in biology with a 3.63 G.P.A. and plans to attend medical school in hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon --- A bit of a project who will require some patience and would ideally be afforded the opportunity to learn as a backup for a couple seasons but it's hard not to be excited about long-term upside --- Unpolished and needs to work on mastering the finer points of the position but possesses all of the physical tools and intangibles that you look for in a starting quarterback at the next level.
