Theres a reason for no 100 accuracy, because then he would have 100% completion percentage. Stuff like 100 speed isn't like that because it makes him the fastest in the game, yes, but you can still take down 100 speed, but not 100 break-tackle.

100 accuracy doesn't mean 100% completion percentage and I don't think 100 break-tackle would mean plowing over everybody. It would just mean that they were the best at it.

I haven't seen death, but I did see concussion. A career ending concussion means you're almost a vegetable, 'cause concussions are common enough.

Dude, 100/100? That's perfect which means it's 100% completion. Same goes with Break-Tackle, things that actually apply directly to the game like that can't be perfect.

100 speed would mean teleportation. And with 99 accuracy, it's not 99% completion percentage. It's not even close.

Are you suggesting that no quarterback should have an accuracy rating higher than about 67 in Madden? I don't think you quite understand how the attributes work in the game...

exactly, that's why there's that 1 point of error, so it's not perfect. You can tell a huge difference between 70 accuracy and 99 accuracy. There always has to be some margin of error when having stuff like fumbling, throw accuracy, break-tackle, tackle and such, so you can't have 100.

Let's give an example I might be wrong on it
Accuracy
97- 67%
98- 68%
99- 69%
100- 100%?
I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be that much of a jump. And even with 100% accuracy it doesn't mean the person who is using the quarterback will throw it to the right person and not into double coverage or something. Maybe he will throw it right to the receivers hands but it doesn't mean that the receiver will catch it or there won't be a defender there.

It's a marketing ploy, calm yourself. Manning having 100 accuracy will not sell more games, no matter whether it makes sense or not. Hester having 100 speed creates anticipation for the return game and excitement for having a player with exclusively superior speed. From a business standpoint it made the most sense to give this role to Hester, although Reggie Bush could've been an option as well (why didn't they do both?).
I can see Madden expanding on this concept in the future, with more prestigious 100 overall marks being given out. Hands, tackling and strength are all abilities that would make sense on all counts.
Madden does release their game ratings well in advance before the official game release. Not sure when, though.

Yeah but what if it's real? How the **** do you even walk or put on clothes?
The ratings have nothing to do with percentages. Having 90 accuracy does not mean you'll complete 90% of your passes, and 100 would not mean 100%. Also Hester is not the first to have 100 speed. They use to have all the ratings go up to 100.

Because outside the cone accuracy gets a lot worse.
They use to have all the ratings go up to 100.
Derrick Brooks, Marvin Harrison and numerous others had 100 overall ratings on Madden 2002 (N64).
Does that make them perfect football players under the logic of some?

Theoretically if you had 100 awareness then you could see the whole field, and with 100 accuracy you could hit any player perfectly in the hands and they will catch it because you have 100% accuracy and if you have 100 throwing power then it teleports into his hands. But why would you need all this if you had perfect 100 speed and teleport into the endzone?

Ugh, please stop already before I vomit twice over. 100 ratings do not mean perfection in game performance. It's just a number, same as 99 or 50. The difference between 99-100 is no different from 98-99.
There would be a clearer understanding if everyone just used logic and common sense. 99 awareness equates to a cone that covers about half of the field. Would it make sense if a 1 point increment doubled that cone to cover the entire field? It makes absolutely no sense, especially when you consider how 51-99% (cone-covering-field) would just be skipped.
The significance of Devin Hester having 100 speed is that no other player can catch him. It's not that he's vastly superior to all other players, he's simply the best. A QB with 100 awareness would fall under the same category, except I doubt Madden will ever make that happen because of QB Vision and how lame it's effects would be.

Why don't they make ratings based on percentile. For example, Manning is in the 99th percentile for accuracy. Then he would be 99 accuracy. Or for example, Jon Ogden is in the 99th percentile in strength. Then he would have 99 strength.
Who like this idea?
