Wrote this up a while ago

QB- Kyle Wright- Just barely gets the job over Freeman.
RB- Javarris James- There will be a lot of rotating but for the most part James will be the primary back, Cooper, Jones and Thomas will see the rock though.
FB/H-B- Chris Zellner- Mabry should see some time as a blocking FB, but Zellner will get most of the snaps.
SE- Sam Shields- Darnell Jenkins may start here but he is a bit of a question mark coming off the injury and missing spring.
FL- Lance Leggett- Was having a big spring before the injury.
TE- DajLeon Farr- Another position that will rotate, Zellner will see some time here as well as Dedrick Epps.
LT- Jason Fox- Best OL last year, hopefully injuries will heal quickly.
LG- Andrew Bain- Not much competition
C- Derrick Morse- Moves over from OG
RG- Chris Rutledge- Played well in spot duty last year at OT, moves inside.
RT- Reggie Youngblood- Really needs to step up, been a disappointment.
DE- Calais Campbell- Stud of the defense, should have a big year, Steven Wesley should see the field as well here.
DT- Teraz McCray- The interior worried me a bit until what I saw from the spring game, this guy is a beast. Hendricks will be in the rotation
DT- Antonio Dixon- Huge guy inside, will rotate with Holmes.
DE- Eric Moncur- Started a few games last year, got some good pressure on the QB, back up Franklin is pretty good.
WLB- Glenn Cook- Him and Spencer Adkins are still battling it out.
MLB- Colin McCarthy- Guy is a stud, Darryl Sharpton will compete here.
SLB- Tavares Gooden- Best of the group. Only guaranteed starter
CB- Glenn Sharpe- Needs to step up and be the #1 CB.
CB- Randy Phillips- Had a rough year last year, has a lot of competition, one of the safeties may end up here.
NB- Chavez Grant- Wiggins will push him here but Grant should come out on top.
S- Kenny Phillips- Leader of the secondary, should start here but may move to CB.
S- Lovon Ponder- Injury to Reddick guarantees his spot in the starting line up.

Some other notes, neither QB looked good in spring but Wright looked not so bad of the two. Really would not be shocked to see Marve play this year. James and Cooper will both pretty much start, Cooper is going to be all over the field, gonna be a hell of a tandem. Fox is for sure moving to LT, and for good reason, he is so much better than Youngblood. Colin McCarthy is a man beast and no matter who starts at the LB positions there will be a rotation with Sharpton, Adkins and Davis.

FSU is gonna do some damage this year.I gurantee they will win the ACC this year.

I wouldnt say Gurantee. But I will gurantee the ACC will be the most improved conference in college football. Tech, Miami, Clemson, FSU, and Maryland will all be much better than last year on the field and it will show up in the win column also. If Tech had a QB, they would be a National Championship contender. If Miami can find depth at WR, improve the OL, and get Wright to at the LEAST play like he did in 05 then they will challenge Tech for the Costal. If Korn or whichever QB can ride Davis/Spiller and get it to those dangerous WR's and they learn to play complete ball an entire season Clemson will win the Atlantic. If FSU can be about 20% better on offense and avoid the injuries that plagued them on defense last year then they will be in the ACC title game. If Maryland can fly low under the radar and then get a win against Clemson or FSU then they have a shot at the Atlantic.

Then, I fully expect Georgia Tech to have one of the best defenses in the conference. They will beat Notre Dame IMHO. Virginia will have a top 30 defense and could get to a Bowl. UNC wont make a bowl, but will be competitive in almost every game. Could get an upset on a top 25 team. Wake Forest will not fall off the map. They will make a bowl appereance, and last but not least Boston College has everything it takes to win the ACC. Senior experience at QB, a ballhawk in the secondary. A reliable run game and a traditionally stout OL.

The ACC wont be the SEC in terms of hype or top recognized squads. But it could be the deepest conference by 2008

* Our LB core could possibly change throughout the season. Norton and Kindle were very highly recruited and are probably the most talented LBs we have, however, Killabrew and Derry started almost every game last season and have seniority.

DChess.

If Wright or Freeman can play somewhat decently Miami will certainly have a chance with the defense and weapons, but if they are like last year we're in trouble. My money is on Boston College in the ACC. Best QB in the ACC, good OL like always, good RB, some good defensive players. If VT, FSU or Miami can get consistent QB play they will have a chance, but until then BC is my favorite.

Tech is my favorite in the ACC. Top 5 defense, great running game, good OL. QB is the only thing hindering them. I dont see BC getting better without O'Brien, they will still be a very good team, but I dont think without him they win the ACC the very first year

Grant, Laurinaitis, and Freeman will start at the LB spots, but expect to see a whole lot of Ross Homan and Curtis Terry in platoons. We got some good LB talent to go around in Columbus. Austin Spitler has been great in spring ball word has it, and Thaddeus Gibson looks as though he will be a huge stud once he fully learns the system and gains experience.

I moved around the defensive line to what I'm hoping it will look like by the start of the season. God forbid we open the season with Zach Potter starting at BDE, and trying to replace Carriker.

If Potter stays, expect Steinkuhler to stay at DT in the place of Shukree, with Potter playing BDE.

Adi Kunalic could come in and start as the kicker, but I went with Henery who had a solid spring and solid spring game.

Zack Bowman could also take over one of the CB jobs, if he recovers (not expecting it until the mid-late season).

Rickey Thenarse could also beat out Asante for the starting SS job, so that is one to watch.

If Mike McNeill can keep the injury bug away, I expect JB Phillips to move into a h-back role with the squad, while McNeill would FINALLY give Nebraska a receiving threat at TE.

Basically, alot of things need to get ironed out before the season starts at Nebraska.

Don't forget Chimdi Chekwa and Eugene Clifford at CBs. Chekwa was amazing in spring ball, and Clifford is a top of the line CB recruit who was amazing in the Army AA Bowl in San Antonio. Couple of freshmen corners who give us great young depth at the position.

This is YOUR 2007 Wisconsin Badgers:

QB- Tyler Donovan
RB- P.J. Hill
FB- Chris Pressley
TE- Travis Beckum
WR- Paul Hubbard
WR- Luke Swan (maybe Randle El)
OT- Jake Bscherer (maybe Carimi)
G- Kraig Urbik
C- Marcus Coleman
G- Andy Kemp
OT- Eric Van Den Heuvel

DE- Matt Shaughnessy
DT- Jason Chapman
DT- Nick Hayden
DE- Kirk Decremer (maybe Ware)
WLB- Jonathan Casillas
MLB- Elijah Hodge
SLB- Deandre Levy
CB- Jack Ikegwuonu
CB- Allen Langford
FS- Shane Carter
SS- Jay Valai (maybe Pleasant)

P- Kenny Debauche
K- Taylor Mehlaff
R- Marcus Randle El

We'll see if RB Johnny Clay qualifies. If he does, he should have an impact as a true frosh. Allan Evridge could potentially start, but I liked what I saw out of Donovan last year, and he's supposedly the current leader. No matter who it is, don't worry about Wisconsin's QB situation. Andy Crooks will probably be the TE on apparent rush downs because he's the superior blocker, and he's also a sneaky receiver for play action. WR Marcus Randle El was slated to start prior to last year, but unfortunately suffered a knee injury. He was pretty promising when healthy. Daven Jones and Maurice Moore are speedsters who could factor in at wideout. I really hope 1 or 2 of the 4 returning O-Linemen get pressured for their starting positions. Kaye, Nagy, Moffitt, and Oglesby; are all possible candidates.

On defense, undersized DT Mike Newkirk will help create a 3 player platoon at the position. I'm not a big Kurt Ware fan, so I hope Decremer beats him out at DE. The corners and LB's are set in stone, and superb groups. Safety is the weak spot of the entire team, or at least the most unknown. But the cornerbacks should cover up a bit with their ability to play man. This is a nasty defense.

Maurice Moore is another option to return kicks. Also, true freshmen are possibilities, i.e.: Aaron Henry, Daven Jones, or David Gilreath. Return was a colossal weakness on last year's Badger team, so it likely won't be anybody who played last year.

there is 0% chance that Minor is our opening day FB. we're thin at RB with the injury to Grady so Minor will be very important in keeping Hart fresh. Criswell or Mondrous will be the starter.

Two other changes I think are likely are Ortmann over Schilling at RT and Ezeh over Thompson/Panter at MLB (if spring reports are accurate). I also don't think Trent is as bad as you think he'll be. Starting across from Leon Hall made him every QB's target last year, but Trent has great athleticsm and is experienced. He'll be solid.

You can be every team's target, doesn't mean you have to suck as bad as he did last year. Good point on Minor, I had completely forgotten about Grady's ACL. Trent will have to play damn well to convince me he isn't that bad. if he can be good, not even great, we will be very very very good

I'm also not sure why there would be a possibility of Minor moving to fullback since he's really not that big at a listed weight of under 220, and the fact he had the second most carries on our team last year and averaged almost 6 yards per carry.

As Acreboy already said, absolutely no way Alem beats out RJF if his grades are up.

Also I would not count out Demetrius Byrd as the number two WR, that is if he qualifies haha. Most experienced aside from the best receiver in the nation(Early).

Charles Alexander will most likely start ahead of Favorite, higher on the coaches lists.

I dont know if Stewart is going to be the starting RT either, still a work in progress.

As Acreboy already said, absolutely no way Alem beats out RJF if his grades are up.

I definitely would not say absolutely. Alem (Alfred Jones) was a slightly higher rated prospect than Jean-Francois coming out, and although Ricky has seen more playing time to this point, it's not like he performed so spectacularly that he has the starting job locked up. Even if RJF gets his act together, I wouldn't be surprised if he's at least slightly in the doghouse for a while.

Most experienced aside from the best receiver in the nation(Early)./QUOTE]

Haha yeah right. Doucet isn't even the best WR in the SEC, let alone the country

Early Doucet is the best WR in the nation.

Eh, I'm a big fan of Doucet but there really is no definitive top WR.

Early Doucet has the POTENTIAL to be the best WR in the nation. It's been a little while since LSU has had a clear-cut #1. I expect, dare I say, Josh Reed-like production out of him.

obviously Kenny Britt is the best WR in the nation :)

haha I thought that quote would strike some discussion. I dont think there is a clear cut #1 as someone else said already, but I do expect his numbers to vastly increase this season.

Don't get me wrong. Early Doucet is damn good, but I take Bennett by a hair

I take Manningham over Doucet or any other WR except maybe DeSean (but he is a jerk, so I take Mario). That's saying something considering how much I love Michigan (about as much as the devil loves Jesus)

And Michigan loves you too ;) I love Manningham but I have to wait and see how he plays now that he should be 100%

DO worry about the Badgers qb situation, no one has the true reins and both looked very indecisive in the spring game.

Guess I should take Maurice Purify off my list of starters.

Effin' idiot got pulled over for a DUI, just barely a month after his bar fight. Sad to say, but if he is really that dumb, he is probably getting kicked off the team.

If Ricky gets his act together, he'll be in the mix. As of now he's got Alem and Tremain Johnson above him.Doesnt look like RJF will qualify...

I hope Correly red shirts
