one of the best memories of my childhood. Some older heads had Star Wars, I have DBZ.

I have a website where I can view EVERY episode and i just watched nearly the entire Cell Saga the past week. SS2 Gohan was dat dude. If they made a real movie out of this with Matrix type graphics (especially the Smith vs Neo fight) then the movie would be one of the best action flicks of the year

why wont they make a saga into a movie?

who else loves this show? and if they made a movie who would you cast? and what saga would you pick first?

I'd prolly start with the Vegeta Saga, and cast Wesley Snipes as Piccolo (of course with makeup)

Trunks is prolly my fav character, well Future Trunks. He was cocky but yet still well mannered. The regular Trunks just got on my nerves cuz he was spoiled. Gohan would be my fav, except he was a puss* at times.

Eh, I hate Anime in general these days. It's all very formulaic, and Dragon Ball Z is really the quintessential example of that. All of the sagas follow the same basic arch.
Villain Appears
Characters fight said villain.
They loose, someone gets injured or dies.
Saiyan characters train to fight said villain.
3 episode long fight, with pauses to discuss things in between. Lot's of grunts.
Characters still are not able to defeat villain, so the deus ex machina is introduced. Be it a new SS form, fusion, or super powerful attack that is usually obtained/revealed with someones death.

I don't know. I actually wish I hadn't seen the Buu saga. That entire thing just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

I honestly can't watch the last episodes of the Cell saga without getting goosebumps... Android 16 (I think?) telling Gohan to fight, dead Goku speaking to his injured son while Gohan and Cell are locked in their energy blast fight...love it.

That's another issue with the series; the fanbase kinda took it over. Gohan was originally intended to be the main character in DBZ...hence Goku dying so many god damned times. That lessened the potential for the show, I think.
The same thing happened in GT. It was supposed to end with DBZ. But fans wanted more.

SSJ2 Gohan was my ultimate favorite episode of all time.

I remember coming home from school and watching it on Cartoon Network at 4 Central every day.

I miss this show.

They went so wrong with Gohan. He was poised to be the strongest character in the world. With his emotions and SSJ blood there was truly no limit to his powers. I thought it was cool he could achieve SSJ2 without his hair turning yellow.

I loved them back in the day, and actually just finished watching uh... all of them again.

The Frieza/Goku fight lasted 20 bloody episodes. TWENTY. That took a long time.

One of my favorite parts, as asked above, would be one of the first Android Episodes. Goku's heart condition starts to hit him after turning ssj, and so on, then Vegeta shows up talking ****, and completely annihilates them, turning ssj on-screen for the first time, and also delivering some smooth insults.

I remember I would be waiting all day to watch the fight and i get home from school and they dont even fight, just talk and stuff. He was Tenshinhan fellow Crane student in Dragon Ball. After that, he kinda faded, as with a lot of Dragon Ball characters. Piccolo killed him in Dragon Ball as well.

how could he? he didnt have the instant transmission capabilities yet. He did not get it till after he self destructed and his cells retained the information from Goku's cells..

I also liked the Android saga (they were androids right?) they were pretty lame but the entire series had this serene calm over it that many other saga's lacked.

Anyways, I loved DBZ, DB was ok but I haven't ever seen DBGT. I thought Vegeta was a great character, one of the best characters to be created in a long time. He started out as a villain, then for most of the series he is trying to one up Goku every step of the way and ultimately failing every time. He is extremely angry, and instead of going berserk and trying to destroy everything, he just competes with Goku. Completely original character.

As far as casting? I don't know, for some reason, I always though Kevin Garnett and Picollo's face structures looked alot a like.

as for the why didn't goku transport back, the reason was he couldn't take his hand off of cell because as soon as cell was shoke he would blow up(remember when he tells gohan to try and destroy him because he will just blow up upon contact.) also you have to remember that the time frame for cell blowing up was supposed to be only 5 seconds left when goku touched him. so by the time he got to king kai's planet he really didn't have any time left.

but i do agree that he could have done it earlier and saved his life but i don't think goku had intended to live after seeing that gohan can protect the earth, remember when they go to wish him back to life and he says no. All in all i think the cell saga should have been the end of the show, whoulda been better then how they ended with teh buu saga

I actually thought it was decent. Underrated game. The best Dragon Ball Z game was the other 2D playstation game, the title of which eludes me at the moment. I own them all though.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Vegeta > Kakarot ;) nah they both rocked. But I always loved Vegeta's arrogance, even when he got beat to a pulp (which was like, every other fight) he'd be saying 'this is impossible' and his drive to be better or at least as good as Goku was rediculous.

Yeah the big bang was pretty awesome as well. The thing is he does them too rarely... Goku'd kamehameha his ass off, while Vegeta got slapped around for hours before he finally resorted to a Gallit Gun, Big Bang of Final Flash.

Masenko and Picollo's special beam cannon rocked as well... Freeza's destructo disk was awesome (even though he was a bad guy) I didn't like his death ball though...

i got the newest game DBZ: Budokai Tenchaichi 2 and all my friends from high school were telling me i was stupid but then they played and now they are all hooked. i havent tried it on the Wii yet but the PS2 version is awesome.
