per theOBR. (browns.scout.com)

LeCharles won't have a second surgery and will try to play this season. Probably won't come back until after week 8 if he gets put on the PUP list.

Happy to hear it seeing as how the last year has sucked for him. Not a Browns fan, but hopefully he can bounce back and play.

hopefully he can play...
hate to see a player's career start getting ruined with injuries

The key word is "try".

if the chance of coming back is in week 8, might as well play it smart and take the second surgery so nothing wrong happens.

Well the Browns are going to the Super Bowl, so we might need him that late in the season. :P

Well, hopefully he isn't neglecting the surgery, but good news nonetheless. I for one will be rooting for him.

Being a Saints fan I hated seeing him go. I still think he's a better G than C but he prefers playing C so we let him.

It's clear the Saints got the better deal of the Faine/Bently swap (not really a swap per say but we switched starting centers).

That being said Bentley was alway a high character/locker room guy and I hope he comes back strong and has a productive career.

If he can come back by next year we'd have to consider that a big success because a lot of people were saying he would never play again...And if he can come back and become the elite center he was, that Brown OL could be one of the best in the league...Joe Thomas-Steinbach-Bentley could very well be the best left side in the league.

Adam Camplan thinks that Bentley won't play this year. But I've heard that there is definitely a chance that he can, that's just Camplan's opinion or at least "what he's heard."

I'm not going to get my hopes up, I'll wait for the season for this.

He is a top offensive lineman in the league IMO and its great to see him back

You hate to see guy in his prime unable to play due to a long-standing injury. I would be surprised to see him play next year, but hopefully he is 100% healthy for next year.

I doubt it, things aren't allowed to go well for Cleveland.

Like I said, he's not back yet. We still don't know if he'll be back ever. He still might get surgery later (doubt it). A lot of people expect him to miss 2007 even without a second surgery.

Bentley was never an 'elite' center. He was above average. However, he was an elite OG.

By not getting this second surgery, I honestly think that saved his career.
