Both have had more success than Dre as strictly a producer.

Are u kidding me????!!!!?????

Dre is the greatest rap producer ever.
He brought in NWA, Eazy E, Snoop, Em, and Game, to name a few

I love timbo but
Timbaland - Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Ginuwine, Bubba Sparxxx, and Magoo

Just look at the lists of artists they have brought in and make a decision.

You spelled them both wrong...

I love how smart-asses keep jumping in and saying DJ Premier, RZA, J Dilla, etc. This poll is for best music producer, not who makes the best underground rap beats. Timbaland is simply an innovative musical genius that can produce in any genre of music. Dupri makes a ton of hits but his production isn't as impressive or unique as Timbo's. Both of them steal a lot of beats and use ghostproducers, although almost every successful producer does.

Timbaland gets my vote easily, but Danja & Scott Storch are better.

What? That's not even a coherent sentence...remove the peanut butter from your mouth before speaking!

And acre, please do not tell me you said the two aforementioned punks, who thrive of pop music and producing for already famous people, and who basically live on mainstream garbage, are better than DR. DRE! One of the innovators of the whole goddamn industry...

I can't believe someone who listens to metal is saying that.

And I think all metal bands are satanists and just wail on a guitar for five to ten minutes and call it a song. Unlike you I don't believe that and I think both genre's have awesome music, but also have some ****** stuff as well.

It is one thing to not like some artists of a genre but to completely throw it under the bus is ignorant.

Dr. Dre thrives off bassists like Mark Batson and keyboardists like Scott Storch to make his beats for him. Storch produced 90% of Still D.R.E, which is probably Dre's best beat and crowning achievement. He uses the same instruments in all of his beats nowadays, which makes them all sound eerily similar (see Kingdom Come album, Buck The World album, Hustlers, Imagine & Get Low). Timbaland can produce hip-hop, R&B or pop. "How you want I got it, up, mid or slow" pretty much sums up his talents and abilities.

Once again, this isn't about who "innovated the goddamn rap industry", it's about who's the best musical producer. Timbaland, Danja, Just Blaze & Scott Storch are all better than Dr. Dre in that category.

Right now I feel like...

1. Dr.Dre-Too many hits and great rap artists to not put at my number 1.

2. D.J Paul & Juicy J- My personal favorites and hundreds of songs, just not enough hits.

3. Kanye West-So talented and good at rapping and producing, can make any type of song along with the ability to make his underground rap style/true hip-hop style mainstream. Some would argue he's just a mainstream guy but I think he's definitely real rap, people may disagree because he's so successful or something.

4. Just Blaze- I haven't heard a lot of Just Blaze but I definitely know about him and some of his style, he's in my top 5 right here at number 4.

5. Timbaland-He's ventured into what's basically pop music but the quality of his hip hop stuff past and present gets him in.

Calling me ignorant for classifying all "hip hoppin" as a steaming pile of crap? You just did the very same with anything named "metal". Dude, listen to any Power Metal band and you will soon realise it is the most up-lifting music of all time.

I can't find the article again, but in an interview Storch said he produced all of the song except for the programming the drums. It makes sense because that means he did the synths which sound like vintage Storch-synths. Whether he's lying or not, the fact is that his piano riff made that song.

i like Cool & Dre, but thats just me

Cool & Dre are among my favorites. You can tell it's their track just by the drums, which says something about how unique they are. They can produce R&B
too because they used to sing in a group so they have a good sense of how to make an uptempo track that can still have singing vocals. Listen to "Let's Just Do It" by Joe, it's one of my favorite beats period.

Blaze is one of the few mainstream producers that can totally mix it up at anytime...he has such a ride variety of beats, from speeded up samples to just loud sysnthesers and everything

i mean from girls, girls, girls, to Show Me What You Got, to Public Service Announcement to Roun Here......he can litereally make any type of beat and do it to perfection

that's debatable. although he has gotten better.

when i think producers i think.

sal villanueva.

and powermetal is rather awesome. and is not a screaming pile of crap.
actually most powermetal doesn't even focus on screaming.
unlike metalcore. grind. death. doom. whathave you.
but. good producers make good albums.
i think that's the universal truth. the fact that producers do way more in the rap/hh/r&b world is something to be said.

i mean. look at BT. in the overall scheme. the man is a musical genius. writes fantastic songs. does most of his own samples. sings. and is actually a musician.

and that's it.

I fixed my above post that made it seem that I was bashing metal. That was a strong error on my part. I absolutely love any kind of soft metal like power metal.
