Indeed this poll needs more cowbell:

Tough call, there's not a truly weak band in the lot. Coming down to personal preference and how I imagine the bands would mesh, IMO the top three are drowe, fenikz, & BigDawg.
3rd: fenikz, very nice band overall, but Maynard James Keenan was a wasted pick. You've already got one of the decade's premier lead vocalists in Layne. You don't need another one, this ain't Veruca Salt, guys don't do harmony in rock.
2nd: BigDawg, so very close, there's nothing wrong with this band at all. Weiland might be one of the most underrated frontmen in rock and roll history.
1st: drowe, gets the nod because this band has that X-factor of Trent Reznor's writing, production, and backup capabilities. Mix that with the performance abilties of all the other guys and this band would absolutely rock.

Alice in Chains was well known for thier harmonized vocals
Difference there is that Jerry Cantrell is an accomplished guitar player who sang to complement Layne's vocals. What you've got is Layne (a hack drummer) and Maynard (might be able to handle a cowbell on a good day)...two lead vocalists, two frontmen, with uncomplementary vocal techniques. Not to mention Cantrell, who IS the complementary vocalist for either of these guys, as evidenced in Maynard's guest spots in the post-Layne AIC shows. I'm not saying it's a bad band, just saying the other two guys made better use of the 5th picks for their bands and that's why I put them ahead of your band.

my thoughts:
my band is my favorite because i drafted it. my opnion is; Chris Cornell has the best voice of the era and Adam Jones is the best Guitar player of the era. Trent Reznor's dark approach and all around musicianship would fit in well. and Newsted and Kinney are more than adequate.
I voted for Feniks because, that was the band that i would pay to listen to if they every hooked up. The AIC/Tool combo is something that intrigued me. And I do believe that Maynard and Layne have both shown that they're ok with sharing the vocal duties. And Danny Carey effing rocks.
I was very close to voting for It's all about the U. While I wouldn't personally pay to hear that band, he had a clear direction and it is easy to see the sound he was going for. and i think he did a great job putting together a group of musicians that seem to go very well together. honorable mention for this band.
I also liked BigDawg's band a lot. ya just can't go wrong with Weiland at vocals. he probably woulda been my pick if i somehow missed out on Cornell. I also really liked the Les Claypool pick. and any 90's band that includes Dave Grohl will be entertaining.
Shiver...yeah, hard for me to look at it objectivly because, with the exception of Smashing Pumkins, i don't like any of the bands that are represented in his group (i really dislike RATM). but, ya can't argue with the ability of the strings duo. and Chamberlain is a great pick. very underrated drummer.
CCB...same as Shiver. i personally hate De La Rocha. the Fruciante pick was great.

I vote for fenikz because Layne, Maynard, Danny Carey, and Jerry Cantrell would be the sweetest band ever regardless of th bass player.
BigDawg's band is easily right behind them, but Scott Weiland is someone I hate so I couldn't pick them as the winners.

I had every intention of votin for ya when I heard Slash was your guitar player, but when I saw somebody had Layne+Maynard+Danny Carey it was a done deal sorry bud.
Someone should've taken Serj Tankian.. or Kurt Cobain.. or Max Cavalera.. and I'm sure there's a member of the Deftones that could've been drafted.. though I guess, they were just making a band and not picking the best or most highly regarded..
But anyways, fenikz's team is pretty sweet.. though BigDawg gets major points for Les Claypool.. I'm voting for Fenikz.
Big Dawg - Scott Weiland and Slash are awesome.

Haha, he is nothing without Rage, but now Rage is back so we can all hear about how much our country/white people suck again, since thats what Zack writes about.
