I get paid 2morrow so im planning to get my a mp3 player at Walmart. I have this new job and its boring but i do get alot of time to myself...so I know music could help me get through those 8 hours. So i went to Wal Mart on my break the other day to look at Mp3's....i have used a CD player since forever but i just broke it like 2 weeks ago so i decided to finnally step my technology game up

i dont want to spend too much, i dont think i can afford an ipod because I got to go shopping for my lil ones birthday....but i did see they had a cool looking MP3 for 50$......does anyone know what im talking about? is it any good?

im very illterate to most technology so how exactly do the MP3's and Ipods work? you plug it into the USB and download songs to it? How durable are they? do you have to have the songs in a certain format?...and im confused, do you have to save the songs on like flash drives or something or do they always stay on your mp3/ipod?

if i did get an ipod, would i have to use itunes instead of WMP?

any useful or interesting info about these music players would be appreciated...sorry if im sounding like a dummy right now...if this thread has already been done then delete

For Ipod you will need ITUNES. Songs you download off of Itunes will have DRM(Digital Rights Management), which means you cannot put it on any other mp3 devices, just the IPOD. Small inconvenience. Some of my friends of the ZEN, which is great, but I don't know much about the software. Samething for the ZUNE. In the end I would recommend the IPOD, just because I personally love mine.

whats the actual difference between a mp3 and a ipod? aside from the ipod being able to hold more songs...the MP3 said it held like 400 or something....thats more than good enough for me for now

well that's not necessarily true.. there are other players besides the ipod that hold enough songs.. iPod is essentially an mp3 player in it's own respect that it just uses it's own type of file so as previously mentioned, you can't put them on different players. there are many types of mp3 players out there.. I'd just do research and see what you like. Also, with an iPod, there are different types that hold different amounts i.e. Video, Nano, Shuffle

I think they tried. But Apple got whiff of it through a leak the week of launch, and it went on to undercut the Zune. Can't really think of the numbers right now, gotta do some digging.

LimeWire is generally better for downloading individual songs. It depends on how you download your music. I used to download individual songs so I used either LimeWire or Shareaza. Once my 500 GB hard drive gets here, I'm going to start downloading full albums and discographies so I'll use torrents.

This is my problem too.

Just last night I was thinking of starting a thread to ask about it/general mp3 players, so thanks to black for starting this thread. I basically want to see what it's like watching a certain type of video on one of these things, wink wink. But right now I can just watch whatever's already on there. I'm thinking that when I installed it I just clicked on music, not video, or pictures, to put in the library. But I can't figure out where to find a setting like this, it's gotta be somewhere.

i love my zen it uploads fast, movies 20 seconds tops to get it on ur zen, i got the 30 gig pretty awesome. but if u do get a zen do not convert ur videos just drag and drop and upload

i heard something like at first they sent them letters offering them the chance to pay 1500 and be left alone. most of them thought it was just bs and ignored and then got took to court for it, after that idk.

duh just synchronize it, just open ur windows media and then plug ur ipod up to ur comp and it should read ur ipod it will say "would you like to synchronize ur device?"

One thing you need to know though before uploading videos on your Zune is that they are required to be in certain formats before they can be played. Not all video formats are accepted by the Zune and you may just waste your time if you insist to upload them without checking first if they are compatible.

The Zune software plays videos that are in these formats; mp4, mov, m4v, wmv and asf. So if you already have videos in your computer that you wish to upload to your Zune, you should first check out their filename extensions. This is very easy to do, just look at their file names and see the last three letters that follows a dot.

If they are not yet in the required format, what you can do is to download a file converter and just convert the files to the format supported by the Zune. Don't worry, this is not an extra expense, there are a number of file converters for the Zune that are free. With a little search over the internet you will be able to find one, just type these keywords on your favorite search engine, "free video converter download."

try deleting some of the stuff that they put on there already, when i got my zen it had like 4 gigs worth of stuff they put on there already, and i just deleted all of them
