Post or make up your own riddle!

[please refrain from answering if you have heard the riddle before]

A man, on a hunting trip with his friends, leaves his tent going south with a rifle. He walks one mile in this direction and sees a bear. He decides to kill the bear, and begins to chase it. The bear runs east, and the man follows. During the chase, the man trips and drops his thermos, which he had brought with him. Eventually, after going a total of two miles east, the man reaches the bear and shoots it. He drags the carcass one mile north, at which point he arrives back at his tent.

What is the color of the bear he shot?

OK but how do we know that he started at the North Pole?

If he started anywhere else, he wouldn't have arrived back at his tent.

Polar bears don't live that close to the North Pole. Sorry but this riddle is rubbish

If he started anywhere else, he wouldn't have arrived back at his tent.

Huh? Why couldn't his tent be anywhere else?

Huh? Why couldn't his tent be anywhere else?

Because if it was, he would end up 1 mile east, or west, of his tent.

Huh? Why couldn't his tent be anywhere else?

because he went south one mile, east 2 miles and north one mile and arrived at the same place he started without having to travel west

Polar bears don't live that close to the North Pole. Sorry but this riddle is rubbish

How far north can we meet polar bears – and how far south?

No reports have put polar bears exactly on the North Pole itself, but ca. 100 miles to the south, at 88°N. Thus, there is no doubt that there are polar bears in the vicinity of the North Pole, though they are probably not abundant because the ocean there is less biologically productive than it is over the continental shelf, at the edges of the polar basin and associated islands. There is little detailed knowledge about polar bear migrations in the Polar Basin, since there has been little research carried on there. The Arctic Ocean basin is among the earth’s most remote areas, and the logistics and cost of such studies are limiting factors. However, there are numerous reports from polar explorers and expeditions that have encountered occasional polar bears in the permanent ice cap around the North Pole.

The fact that you went to that much trouble to try and justify your joke in fact makes it rubbish on a grander scale.

That much trouble as in he posted his affirmation at 2:12 and I had replied by 2:20?

8 minutes to search out facts to try and prove a joke accurate? Yes too much trouble and the joke is still rubbish.

I've just finished the research and have decided not to debate such a dubious declaration. I've also decided that sentences that contain alliteration sound cooler.
