View Full Version : How to Make a Super Star

I've seen this concept on a few other forums so i suppose its popular, but i dont notice it on this one. Basically, name specialties of players past or present that once combined create the ultimate player at a given position. Eventually all of the positions can be done, but seeing as though this thread is just starting its only fitting to start off with quarterbacks.

The ultimate quarterback would need to have:
Peyton Manning's pre-snap reads
Tom Brady's composure
Drew Brees's accuracy
Brett Favre Durability
Mike Vick's speed
Jamarcus Russell's armstrength?

Feel free to list another position when you want but try to go in order.. and remember this is past and present players

Insert any position with the combination of one's favorite players. This is an argument and lock waiting to happen.........

First of all, I'm pretty sure you just made that up because Jerry Rice ran a 4.6 at the combine.

Merriman isn't that great of a wrap up tackler. (See Ravens game attempted hit on Heap. He basically lost them the game trying to get the highlight hit).

Ouch...true though...

if anything you were to use of Merriman for an OLB I would say its his intimidation...that or maybe his strength/speed combination, in that he's strong enough to bull rush and quick enough to speed rush...or just his pass rush in general haha...

How about Ronnie Lott's hitting?

I was going off of current players, but if I was going to use an historical safety's hitting, it would be Jack Tatum.

I was going to put Tatum as well but couldn't recall his name.

I suppose everyone is itching to post a position that is on their mind, but i think it would be much easier if there were some type of organization... Hopefully some order can be maintained...

I suppose this is as good a time as any to start WRs

Hands - Marvin Harrison
Speeed - Lance Alworth
Toughness - Ed McCaffery
Body - Terrell Owens // Herman Moore
Agility - Dante Hall // Devin Hester
Concentration - Antonio Freeman
Everything else Jerry rice

IMO WR is easy. The Ultimate WR =

Anquin Boldin's rookie Season
+
Calvin Johnson

I'm not a huge fan of the guy but CJ ticks all the boxes that it's possible to tick without actually playing an NFL season.

As for RB when talking about speed I'm 100% certain that (in pads) Jerious Norwood is the fastest in the NFL. Not saying he is the strongest, most agile or destined to be the best 2nd year running back, but in terms of speed he has what i would call ultimate.

I would insert the youtube highlight footage but it has been deleted

That honor would probably belong to Michael Bennett, at least when he first came into the NFL and he still seems to have most of that speed.
