The record contract the Colts (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/11) handed defensive end Dwight Freeney (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/1173) late last week is yet another new wrinkle in the Larry Johnson (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/1501)-Chiefs (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/12) contract saga. I still see a trade as a legitimate possibility. The Hunt family has never shown the stomach for reaching into their piggy bank and handing out huge signing bonuses.

I know this is just one mans take on it and doesn't really mean any thing but he does have a point who knows?

I'm struggeling with this situation. LJ is a bona fide stud, but I just can't see a monster contract not burning us at some point. The biggest problem is that Croyle will need some weapons around him if he is going to develop properly and dealing LJ is only going to make that situation harder. I have been in the corner of keeping him for a long time, but I'm starting to come around on the trade idea. My only issue is that because of how this is breaking down I don't want to deal him for 50 cents on the dollar. At minimum we should receive a 1st and 2nd round choice for this guy which will help us expidite our rebuilding process.

the broncos forum is boring and i'm interested, so forgive the intrusion.

but how is your offensive line looking now? in denver, i can pretty much expect that, almost no matter who leavs (lepsis being the exception), they can pretty much pick up and keep going at a similar level. if the chiefs will be able to recover from shields and roaf retiring (granted roaf was last year), dealing LJ may not be so bad. if they can't, i don't see how they can get rid of him without already having a stud in waiting.

Our OL is a question mark we are still pretty good in the middle with Brain Waters at LG Casey Wiegmann at C and John Welbourn at RG I know Welbourn is no Shields but he is a solid starter. We picked up LT Damion McIntosh from Miami and while he is a upgrade over Jordan Black I really don't think he is a huge upgrade. I'm not really sold on any one we have at RT on paper Chris Terry is the starter but by no means has the spot locked up Will Svitek and Kevin Sampson will push him for playing time. I like Will Svitek alot but he is unproven he had a great NFLE season last year I believe he got OL player of the year he was so worn down from playing over there is why he didn't get on the field this last season for us. I think our OL will play better then last year but not by much if a starter or two gets hurt we are screwed IMO.

I have almost no respect for Jason Whitlock, that guy seems to wake up, and piss hatred for the KC organization.
I have never heard too much of Damien Mcintosh, and a lot of people say he's not an upgrade over Black. If he is not that good, I don't understand why we pursued him so hard during FA period. I kind of feel sorry for the texans because the stuff i read about them and Jordan black is usually something positive about the guy..didn't he allow the most sacks in the nFL last year?
I think Will Svitek will be good, I definately hope your right about the czech(some eastern euro country)

Damien Mcintosh is a upgrade over Black for sure I just don't feel he is a major upgrade.

His strength is in run blocking from what I have heard. That's the reason the Chiefs wanted him so badly which makes sense. Most of the media likes to grade tackles based strictly on their ability to protect the passer, which is why he has not been a highly regarded signing.
