First of all this game does NOT use real money and is just for fun.
Okay now this is how it works, I'll need 4 other people to join and pick an NFL team (if it works well I might use all 32 next time) to be in a 5 round draft. Each player is then given $100,000. At the start the 1st pick will go up for bidding at $1,000 and someone may submit a bid 2,000 and the next 3,000 and the next 4,000 and so on until all but one person declares themselves OUT, or you can declare yourself OUT in the begining if you dont want the paticular pick. The winner will then pay the amount of their last submitted and then will get to choose a player. All college players are eligible. Game will work in increments of 1,000. This is a new game so any new ideas are appreciated. The draft will be judged in the end.

Signups:

OSU Giants17-New York Giants
Tampa 2 4 Life-Tampa Bay Bucaneers
DWilliams2IndyColts-Tennessee Titans
Go Eagles77-Philadelphia Eagles
Roy Hall#1-Cleveland Browns

1st Pick-New York: Darren McFadden
2nd Pick-Cleveland: Calais Campbell
3rd Pick-Philly: Kenny Phillips
4th Pick-New York: Jake Long
5th Pick-Tampa Bay: Brian Brohm
6th Pick-Cleveland: Desean Jackson
7th Pick-Philly: Rey Maualuga

NFL players are eligible right? You never clarified that.

Using NFL teams you will pick college players, just like a normal draft, for example the packers need a safety so I might take Kenny Phillips

Great we wont be able to start until tommorow, mostly because its something that needs all members to be there, we can arrange times and that stuff tommorow that way we can have about an hour everyday for 5 days or so to finish it

RoyHall#1
07-21-2007, 11:32 PM
Questions about it... do we have to have 5 players? Can we spend 100 grand on the 1st pick? Or can we spend our money to get the last 10 picks?

07-24-2007, 06:21 PM
I bid 3000.

neko4
07-24-2007, 06:26 PM
I guess to make it go faster theyre will be a period between every pick, if someone doesnt make move 5mins after a pick, the pick is awarded to the highest bidder

I bid 4,000 at 7:25 est pm

RoyHall#1
07-24-2007, 07:55 PM
So you won? 5 minutes isnt near long enough... and I'm not allowed to bid like 15,000 right now? That would also make this go a lot faster...

On Thursday I will only be on at night, so anytime 6 Eastern and on probably.

OSUGiants17
07-24-2007, 07:56 PM
I bid 6,000 at 8:55pm est

Just a suggestion from an observer...I think it would be a lot easier if you played it somewhat like the supplemental draft and had everyone submit their bids secretly to a commissioner who then announced who had the highest bid.

07-25-2007, 11:39 AM
k When do we submit bids?

RoyHall#1
07-25-2007, 04:38 PM
PM them I'm guessing? Can someone explain exactly how this works? Like, we say we'll bid up to 70,000 for the 1st pick, and 30,000 for the 2nd pick, and 20,000 for the 3rd pick? And when we are out of money we can't have anymore picks? I like that idea

neko4
07-25-2007, 06:05 PM
I'll say 1st pick is up for bidding, then everyone will send me a pm with the offer within 60 mins of the pick going up for bidding, once all offers get in a winner will be declared and we can move on, tie breakers are based on '06 record, lower record will result in win

neko4
07-25-2007, 07:21 PM
please start pming bids for first pick, i dont have alotta time, but winner may be anounced t midnite eastern

Reasoning: We lost Tiki and Droughnes is just an injurey prone Jacobs with Jacobs and McFadden sharing carries we will have Thunder and Lightning

neko4

2nd pick is now up, bids must be submitted by 12:20

RoyHall#1

RoyHall#1
07-26-2007, 10:34 AM
To make things easier, how about you give me the 2nd pick for 55,000 since I didn't want Mcfadden anyway? This should keep everyone happy.

With the 2nd overall pick in the 2008 Draft, The Cleveland Browns select

http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2007/0412/ncf_g_campbell_195.jpg

Calais Campbell, DE.

Reasoning: The Brown's defensive line is obviously their main weakness and they believe Campbell to be the best defensive lineman in the draft. This makes the decision to shell out 55,000 dollars an easy one, without regrets.

http://www.mycalbears.com/images/thumbnails/cal%20bears%20wr%20desean%20jakson%20reaches%20for %20ball%202_thm.jpg

Desean Jackson, WR.

Remaining salary: $24,998

Reasoning: WIth the selection of a WR the Brown's 2 most pressing needs are now filled. Look for them to take a backseat in the bidding for a while, unless the price is right. Jackson will take over as the #2 option at WR across from Braylon Edwards, making a dangerous tandem to rival the best in the league. (in a few years)
