Pedro Alvarez for sure, but I would expect Jemile Weeks to be a top pick as well.

I've been pimping him for a while now... Pedro Alveras, and I'd have no problem with the White Sox getting the worst record so we can get him.

Harold Martinez is 10x better than Hosmer. They're already comparing him to A-Rod. Im thinking Alvarez. David Adams from Virginia could be a sleeper too.

Too bad the #1 pick goes to the NL next year.

Come on, Pirates! Lose! Lose! Lose!

You now understand what it feels like to be a Browns fan toward the end of the year ;)

A's should have signed him when they drafted him in the 5th round 2 years ago. But they couldn't get the gonads to pay him out of slot.

They drafted him in the 16th and there was honestly no chance they could of gotten him.

That's not a rule anymore, it's strictly by worst record now.

So he is going to hit 500 homers by the time he is 30? C'mon now, lets be realistic in our expectations.

IMO, I could put Hosmer above Smoak and others in a loaded 1B class for '08. Hosmer reminds me a bit of Jason Heyward this past year in terms of unlimited future projection. He already has the fluid, sweet swing from a power position, but he has not even scratched the surface of his power potential for the future.

Barring signability issues, there is no reason to think Pedro Alvarez won't go #1 overall. Had he been eligible, he would've gone #1 overall this year.

DO you have any idea what compare means?

in terms of skills, Martinez compares to Rodriguez. No one expects him to hit 500 HR by the age of 30, a truly unimaginable feat that Arod seemed to break. I was being realistic in my expectations, Im just giving you what I've heard.

I agree with Hosmer over Smoak.
