No he will suck it up. His schedule is tougher and plus he's just a bum altogether.

The Madden Curse involves injury, not statistical issues. I believe that Young is a risk for injury because of his style of play. When you're a QB and try to run a lot, you open yourself up to a lot of hits and plenty of chances to get nicked up or even slaughtered. I like Young's game, but there are risks there.

Yes he sucks he got ****** lucky in that game he's a ***********. He's going to break his leg 2nd week in the preseason.

I watched the game. I don't see how completely dominating a game from start to finish and outscoring one of the most prolific offences in college history is "getting lucky".

Saying he dominated from start to finish is bull he didn't score in the first half. Plus they only scored 16 points. I wouldn't consider that "dominating".

What are you talking about? Texas won 41-38. Young had over 400 yards (267 passing, 200 rushing).

Ddi you not read what I said I'm talking about the start of the game he didn't dominate. Why did I reply that? because you said oh he dominated from start to finish. He did jack in the first half.

He won't break the curse. He has little to no suppoting cast, and he's been told to run more. A recipe for disaster. Even if he doesn't get hurt, he'll just be horrendous statistically.

I'm very surprised that EA Sports decided to put Vince on the cover at all. He didn't have that impressive a rookie season anyway. I also don't see how the marketing angle is well-served by this. I think they should just put the coach of the SB Winner on the cover and make a big donation to charity on behalf of the cover coach, then be done with it.

He still dominated the game whether you want to believe it or not. It was one of the most impressive individual efforts of all-time in a Bowl game.

Yes, Young's performance in the Rose Bowl earned him the #3 overall pick and millions in guaranteed money and endorsements. At the same time, it was admitted by pretty much everyone that Young would need to develop more before he became an ultimate offensive weapon for the Titans. He is still learning and figuring out his game. There will be some growing pains as he has his adjustment period.

In that Rose Bowl, Vince Young put the Texas offense on his back and dominated the second half with his running and passing. The Texas defense helped out by limiting the capabilities of the explosive USC offense. The Texas D found a few answers for the USC offense. The USC D could not stop Young.

Like I said in the other thread, his team isn't good enough yet, Titans won't win more than 8 games this year, but he could still have a good year.

I'm not going to wish an injury on any person or player. The Madden curse or jinx seems to have some legitimacy based on the last 6-7 years. Very spooky, but it could still be a random series of events.

Texas cheated. Vince's knee was down on the option for a TD.

ho hes cursed.. hes gonna end up like mcnabb n culpepper after they were coverboys.. all 3 are scrambling qbs PLUS he has no one to throw to... idk maybe just maybe he will carry his team through each game n what not idk well see but my anser is no

Yeah we know hes not going to break it, now lets pick what body part will be broken,

I am going Concussion. Not that i want to see anything bad like that happen to a player, but he is going to be running around, and he goes to juke one guy and another guy just drills him, and from that he will think twice about running. I think most running Qbs had that happen to them, Vicks gotten drilled, McNabb. hell almost every qb has gotten a f-ed up

No. Texas did not cheat. A ref might have missed a call. Playing until the whistle is not cheating.

It depends on how u define break.... I think he will have a good year statistically, but his team will struggle to a 6-10 record at best, but not because of him. Also, he will be the second story on his team all year. So I say no, he doesn't break it, but he has a pretty good season.

Anyways, Vince can't "break" the Madden curse since he doesn't believe it. LT was offered before him and he turned it down.

It isn't about stats. It is about getting injured.

Duh dont u know what the madden curse is, they all break something and then their life goes down the drain. i.e. Eddie George, Faulk, Vick, Mcnabb, Ray Lewis,

Well, then if its just about injury, then yes, he does. I never wanna predict or wish injury on someone since the last one I did died in a car accident. So then yes, he does break it.

Wikipedia has a good entry on it. You can read about all of the guys on the cover. Barry Sanders wasn't hurt but he did retire so....

Part of the entry....

"While it appears that the victims to the curse have had off seasons after performing exceptionally well, many regard this as simple regression toward the mean.[4] That is, these featured athletes' performances are so outstanding that in fact they should not be expected to repeat them. Also, defenses usually key in on a player who had an exceptional season prior. Finally, the idea of having a "best season" entails that only one season will be a best season. More explicitly, one cannot have two best seasons and any given best season cannot be beaten.

Another issue in some cases may be the matter of workload. Both Eddie George in 2000 and Shaun Alexander in 2005 recorded career highs in carries. This high workload contributed to their impressive totals in yards and touchdowns, but the additional wear and tear this workload entailed may have contributed to their injuries in the following seasons."

Its not all about getting injured. Hearst missed 1 game, Sanders retired, Levens was overrated, George had his career high in TDs and yards:what happened the years after was the curse, Culpepper played 11 games the year he was on it, Faulk only missed five games, Vick was bad, Lewis and McNabb had bad seasons, but their lives aren't going to hell, and Alexander missed six games and his team got to the playoffs and are favored to again this season, so no, its not all about injuries.

The Madden curse isn't about "lives going to hell." It is all about injuries and decreased performance that accompanies the injury. Missing 5 games or 6 games is a lot.
Apart from Sanders they were all injured.....and that is because Sanders retired.

And then they put Dorsey Levens inplace of Sanders on the cover and he got hurt

So we all agree Youngs going down either injury or stat wise, and when did a rookie make the cover, well at least after 1 yr. wait Vick did right. If he get hurt or something happens it going to be hard to convince players to go on the cover. Either a truck load of money to be on the cover or put the whole team, or Madden back on the cover.
