I like it we can give Jamarcus the Carson Palmer/Phillip Rivers treatment and we see how well those guys turned out and meanwhile Culpepper should be a considerable upgrade over McCown/Walter and who knows what if he returns to form, we could make the playoffs. The Jim Plunkett comparisons are already being brought up.

i like the move. hes way better than any qb we got and he will help russell alot. i excpect him to play 4-12 games but its mostly on when/if russell gets into camp

except for the fact that Jim Plunkett was brought in to be a third string QB.

He's gonna start.
Most likely will play the whole season.

mccown might start at first i think since hes been to all the mini camps and probably knows the offence a little better. but after a few games he should come in

they're all getting even reps now in camp though so I think Culpepper will end out on top.

I love Culpepper at QB. But it ain't never good when a quarterback is force fed an offense in a month. Check out Collins, Kerry in Tennesee last year.

They're letting Pep air it out so far this preseason. If we had anyone other than Curry who could catch, we might be dangerous.

Still the biggest supporter of the Russell pick, but man Culpepper could have returned to elite status if he had Calvin Johnson to go to deep.

I think Culpepper is as good as any QB in the league except for Manning but he is being forcefed an offense in a couple of months. Look at Kerry Collins last year w/ the Titans. It is not good to start a QB when he has this little bit of time to learn the O. Start McCown till week 6 then put in C-Pep.

THe reason why Kerry Collins sucks is because hes Kerry Collins not because he was forcefed an offense.

we hav to be realistic here..the raiders offense doesnt hav that superstar weapon culpepper needs to return to his old form

Daunte returning to old form would mean to just be productive enough to score at least 17 points a game, and for that he does not need a superstar. Porter and Curry provide nice targets and both are able to seperate enough from DBs to give C-Pep enough room to laser some nice throws to them both. Throw in a RB by comittee that seems to be buying into the new blocking system as well as the O-Line and we have adequate weapons for Daunte to complete his climb back onto the list of respectable QBs. The offense is far from spectacular, but they are good enough to fight their way into the middle of the pack, pair that with an elite D and this team could be looking to surprise a few people this year.
