What is he looking like this year? Upside? Just some good info about his NFL prospects.

I like him a lot. The man is ripped , and I hope the Vikings get him. He's my favorite Cover 2 DE in this draft so far.

8.5 sacks in his first year as a starter, also his first year of significant playing time. Plays LEO in the Buckeye defense, which is what Bobby Carpenter and Will Smith played (basically DE that sometimes plays OLB). He is great at moving up the line towards the middle on run defense, and is a relentless pass rusher, always in the backfield. Should get 10+ sacks this year with the load of pass rushers on the quicker defensive line Ohio State will be featuring this year. Almost a sure bet to declare for th 08 draft, should be a top 20 pick. Would be a great RE or LE in the cover 2, also a perfect fit at OLB on either side in the 3-4 defense. Is strong and fast and great against the run, something rare for a pass rusher of his size and skill set.

Definately one of those hybrid players to watch. Shawne Merriman-esque.

damn, he looks like he's a drug test away from being suspended.

He's fast, strong, plays the run pretty well and is a sack machine. Very athletic and still very raw considering he's only been playing since sophomore year of HS. Gave Jake Long one hell of a battle last year during The Game and Long is being regarded as the #1 or 2 tackle this year for the draft. I love Gholston, he's nasty.

I am naming my first born son Vernon in hopes that he too can be an athletic freak

damn, he looks like he's a drug test away from being suspended.

I think he takes pride in having people think that. He's been cut up since he ws in junior high.

In terms of comparing 3-4 defensive ends, he's much more like Merriman than a guy like Wimbley. He's fast, but would prefer to use his power more often than his speed to get sacks.

I wish he was on the board when the Bengals pick. Since we might lose Justin Smith after this year.

All that needs to be said really is

He really is a freak of an athlete.

Just to note: that first pic of Gholston was from his true freshmen year. Its been acouple years since then and I can gaurantee you hes alot bigger :)

side note#2 - By the end of his true frosh year he had a bench max of alittle over 500 lbs. making him the strongest player on the team at the time (18 yrs old).

This dude really reminds me of Will Smith.

He's going to be a monster 3-4 OLB for the Jets. ;)
