Apparently, players don't learn. So let's use this thread to update new law problems for college players.
First, Sergio Kindle of Texas gets in trouble. Then Hand from ND. Now, Michigan has more problems.

What's the difference between this and the Fulmer Cup?
Well, EDSBS hasn't updated it in a while, but the official Fulmer Cup scoreboard at the SAS Wiki site has been keeping track in the meantime.

It's not like you don't see or hear about something like that happening all the time in any bar district in a college town.

He suspended Brandon James vs. Western Kentucky though. I have no respect at all for Urban. Most coaches care about their players enough to discipline them, but Urban is classless scum.

I believe he had a few legal issues that resulted in the Gators letting him go. A quick search reveals that he then played for the mighty Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and was eligible for the 2007 NFL draft. Apparently nobody was interested. He hasn't been given a shot as an UDFA.

This is not the first time Clifford, 20, has been in trouble with the law or his team.
In December 2007, Clifford, then in his first season with the Buckeyes, was suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules. His suspension forced him to sit out of the national championship game against LSU.http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080706/NEWS01/80706004

Sometimes you need to get home and don't have any other way. Also realize that just because you're over the legal limit doesn't necessarily mean that you're drunk. Especially with athletes, who tend to be bigger than the average joe.

Former football star arrested
Aquinas' Washington charged with shooting a man during robbery
Wednesday, July 30, 2008
By Shane Hoover
REPOSITORY STAFF WRITER
CANTON The man told police the masked robber came to his bedroom as he slept, demanded money and jewelry, then shot him twice.
The victim couldn't see the gunman's face, but city police have charged former St. Thomas Aquinas High School football star Kendall M. Washington with aggravated robbery and felonious assault. A grand jury now will take a look at the evidence to see if he should stand trial.
Washington, 19, of 1643 22nd St. NE, remains in the Stark County Jail on $100,000 bond.
"Washington denies the charges and will vigorously contest this case," said defense attorney Jeffrey Jakmides.
It's unclear what this means for his football future at West Virginia University, where the 6-foot-2, 192-pound Washington was in the mix to be a receiver for the nationally ranked Mountaineers this season, according to the team's media guide.
Calls seeking comment were left for university officials and Washington's mother.
Jakmides said he hasn't been in contact with school officials and did not know if they were aware of the charges.
INVESTIGATION IS DETAILED
On Monday, Municipal Court Judge Richard Kubilus held a preliminary hearing on the incident that occurred on the morning of July 8 in the 3000 block of Glen Place NW.
Sgt. Mark Kandel testified that Michael Patterson was shot in the head and had another bullet graze his stomach, according to a recording of the hearing.
Patterson told police he was sleeping with his 5-year-old child when a man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, with a red bandanna concealing his face, came into the bedroom and demanded money and jewelry, Kandel said.
The robber took gold chains that were sitting on a TV and fired two shots, Patterson told police.
A neighbor told investigators he saw a man dressed in black and carrying a red bandanna run from Patterson's home in the direction of a nearby gas station on Tuscarawas Street W, Kandel said. The neighbor later identified Washington in a photo lineup, he said.
Police reviewed surveillance video from the gas station. It showed a gold-colored car with two occupants. One of them, dressed in black, left the car in the direction of Patterson's home, then returned, the detective said.
Another witness, named Pedro L. Wilson, told police he drove Washington to the gas station and that Washington went to Patterson's home, Kandel said. Wilson is in jail on an unrelated kidnapping charge.
The detective testified he spoke with Washington, who gave "basically four different versions of 'I didn't do it.' " At one point, Washington said he was at home all day, but other times he said he was in Columbus or some unspecified out-of-town location, Kandel said.
Washington surrendered on the warrants July 20.
Police are waiting for lab results on items recovered from the crime scene.
TROUBLE IN HIGH SCHOOL
Washington was a two-way star at Aquinas. He earned all-state honors for his defensive work and was the state defensive player of the year in Division V his senior season. Offensively, he played every skill position for the Knights during his four seasons.
Last year, Washington was a red-shirt freshman at West Virginia.
"Every report I got from West Virginia, the coach said he was doing real well school-wise," said former Aquinas coach Tim Tyrrell, who lives in Florida.
Tyrrell said he hadn't talked to Washington's mom about the charges and was trusting that Washington had been misidentified and could "go on growing as a person."
Court records show while Washington built a 1,920-yard, 21-touchdown career in high school, he also got into trouble with the law.
In March 2005, Washington, then 15, punched an 18-year-old woman and broke a storm door at her home. Washington ran from the police, twice, according to complaints filed in Stark County Family Court.
He pleaded true — the juvenile equivalent of guilty — to assault and other misdemeanors and was sentenced to probation, anger management and 40 hours of community service, court records show.
A year later, Washington and other suspects were accused of beating a 56-year-old man unconscious and dragging him from his car, court records show. A juvenile felonious assault charge was eventually dismissed, and Washington pleaded true to misdemeanor obstructing justice. A magistrate put him on probation and ordered 50 hours of community service.
Tyrrell said the charges were handled through the courts, and Washington was never suspended.
"When he was a younger kid, he was an angry kid, but he was a good kid," Washington's former coach said. "His mother did an awesome job of raising him and his two older brothers. As he grew older, he became more mature. He did really good school-wise. He worked really hard to get grades for college and became a leader on the football field."
