I just a piece by George Carlin and it was awesome. I like a lot of comedians though and I wouldn't say I have a favourite. They all have their moments and it's good to see a mix of them because they all tend to have one area that they focus on and it can get stale.

Gabriel is a funny dude. He was on Last Comic Standing 2006, but he was booted off because he snuck a Blackberry onto the show and got busted. He probably would have made a deep on the show if he had the chance for more exposure. He was pretty well established as a comic before he made it on that show anyway.

While I thought he was pretty good, I don't get all the hype. In my opinion, he's good but not great. Dane Cook is not as good as some of his fans claim him to be, but he isn't nearly as bad as others make him out to be. I don't know if he really counts, but I am also a big fan of Stephen Lynch.

I'm not sure how Dane Cook got so big. It really makes no sense at all. I think he's a really good comedian, but he's not some epic guy who's doing something really new or original.

You wanna know why? By being a corporate shill on the internet. He started sending mass friend requests on MySpace and all the idiot teenage girls on MySpace who don't know jack about comedy thought he was cute which automatically meant he was funny. He has hurt the business so much by pulling that crap. People like Carlin, Pryor, and Bruce got to the top because of comedic talent not being a shill to the online community. Rather have having the most talented comedians earn their way to the top it's the comic who's the best at being a shill. I'm not against change in the business but if it means sacrificing talent for marketability then it shouldn't happen.

Another way he has hurt the business is bringing in the younger crowd. I'm all for new fans but if it means a bunch of idiots who expect to see comics jumping around on stage and talking about pirates then I want no part of them. You see these people at the clubs and they don't laugh at anything unless it's similar to a Dane Cook bit which means you're getting less laughs which means the owner is going to have second thoughts about booking you. For people already headlining clubs it's not a big deal but for comics on the rise it's a real pain in the ass by having some 19 year old airhead who is only there to see the cute comic fill a sit rather than someone who actually has a grasp of stand-up.

Perhaps. (10)

Uhg, cut out the Dane Cook stuff. If someone thinks hes funny then get over it. Stop trying to tell other people what they should or shouldn't like. Its incredibly annoying, no matter what the subject might be.

So I guess I won't see you correcting people for not like Mr. Kennedy then? :p

Humor is subjective.

I'm not saying you shouldn't like Dane Cook; I'm saying there are far more talented and respected comedians out there. Cook has almost zero friends in the business besides his butt buddies on Boregasm. Most people don't know this but they should because truly illustrates what type of person he is.

BRIAN REGAN is the best comedian going right now. He's hilarious, and the best part, clean. He's got some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard.

Also love Louis CK. Basically the complete opposite of Regan, where he's funny because he's so vulgar. He frequently makes fun of his kids which I find hilarious.

Demetri Martin. Right up there with Hedberg in his comedy style. The kid is a genius. Love his art.

Also like Nick Swardson, and a few others.

And speaking of his poptart jokes, if you've ever read a box of pop tarts directions, everything he says is true.

Mencia and Larry the Cable Guy are just horrible. Props to them for making money off completely unfunny acts. Cook is all right. He can make me chuckle here and there, but the notoriety comes from 12 year old girls infatuated with him.
