At the same time we signed Randall Godfrey. This is very surprising to me, LeMar is a great backup guy and with a young Rocky and hurt Marcus I was sure he would get serious pt, he is a good OLB just not MLB like he was last year, surprising move IMO.

I don't know, I don't really mind the move. I've heard from a few SD fans that Godfrey is pretty versatile himself. He's not afraid to stick his nose into the LOS and make a play. And with HB Blades really coming a long I think they feel that MLB is locked down pretty well.

And if it saves some cap to resign Cooley, heck I'm all for it.

Sad to see him go but no big deal really, we are still very solid at LB
