I went to see him perform tonight. Just got back. And I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that he is quite clearly the funniest comic I have ever seen, heard of, or could expect to encounter for the rest of my life. I strongly suggest jumping at any opportunity that may present itself to see him perform live.

I went into the show as a huge fan of his. I came out of the show having heard over 2 full hours of entirely new and hilarious jokes. What was most amazing was that a very large portion of the show was completely unscripted and unrehearsed. At no point did I feel like he was just performing the same generic show he does at every venue he visits on tour.

So there you have it . . . my little recommendation rant for this evening.

Dude, you should have gone. First 20 minutes of the show was him just rambling on about the crazy weather we had, and speculating as to why he was playing at a venue called Meadowbrook that has neither a meadow or a brook anywhere in the area. Hilarious.

The fact remains he is the most influential stand up comedian of all time. You look at all the greats and their greatest influence was Bruce. He routines were ground breaking and before their time. Now I would not call him one of my top 5 favorite comedians (I probably go Carlin, Pryor, Kinison, Cross, Hicks) but he is certainly one of if not the best. As much as I love Carlin, Bruce has done more for comedy.

I saw an older stand up of Tosh and loved him but the one he did not that long ago wasn't as good. It's rather annoying when comedians talk about how they don't care and they're going to be offensive to everyone and Tosh did it after just about every joke. Mencia's old stand up was pretty funny but everything since then was basically him yelling how controversial he is. Tosh isn't anywhere near as bad but it definitely ruined it for me.
