First Round
1.Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
Brady Quinn's performance in the Sugar Bowl has cost him the top spot in the draft, and perhaps even a top 10 selection.
There are two things Al Davis looks for every April: athleticism and arm strength (for quarterbacks). JaMarcus Russell has both attributes, and reminds me of Daunte Culpepper circa 2004. Moreover, Russell's ability to elude defenders will come in handy once opposing pass rushers easily squeak through Oakland's pitiful offensive line.
2.Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
How tempted do you think Matt Millen will be to select Calvin Johnson? Sadly, I can see him doing that. There are a number of options available for Millen at this point. Johnson's not going to fly in the Motor City, and neither is Brady Quinn. What the Lions should do is trade down, but I'm not sure if Millen is cunning enough to accomplish something like that.
Thus, the remaining possibilities are Gaines Adams, Alan Branch and Joe Thomas. I believe Detroit will pursue Simeon Rice, so Thomas seems like the most logical choice. Wait, why am I talking about logic? Millen is clueless -- he'll probably take the guy he's most familiar with. Let's hope he's actually heard of one of those three guys.
3.Cleveland Browns: Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
Peterson is the obvious choice here unless the Browns decide to go with a QB like Brady Quinn.

Joey Galloway just turned 35, and Michael Clayton has been a huge disappointment after an incredible rookie campaign, so Jon Gruden won't hesitate to grab the top receiver on the board. Chris Simms could use a top-notch wide out.

Bert Berry and Chike Okeafor aren't bad, but both will be over the age of 31 by the start of the 2007 season. Besides, the Cardinals need a premier pass rusher. Berry and Okeafor combined for 14½ sacks in 2006, which isn't bad considering Berry missed six contests. But with that said, Arizona needs to get younger and better at defensive end.

I don't know where to start with Washington's defense; it can't stop the run or get to the quarterback. It also features Shawn Springs and Troy Vincent, two fossilized veterans who have lost a step. The Redskins could go with a number of players at this point, but given their inability to shut down Tiki Barber in Week 17, Daniel Snyder may opt for Alan Branch.

Minnesota's situation at wide receiver is so bad that some fans are clamoring for Randy Moss to come back. Ouch. Because they have only two receivers under contract next year, I can't see the Vikings passing up on Dwayne Jarrett. Tarvaris Jackson, or whoever the quarterback is in 2007, needs a top-notch wide out like Jarrett; Troy Williamson clearly doesn't fit the bill.
8. Houston Texans: Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
Houston needs some sort of playmaker on offense, especially after passing on Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Way to go, Charley Casserly. Think Marshawn Lynch will be an upgrade over Ron Dayne and Chris Taylor?

Great Prospect, Dont know much about this guy but i hear he's good. He is alot like a Kearse.
10.Atlanta Falcons: Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
The Falcons signed Lawyer Milloy this offseason, but he's just a temporary fix. Atlanta needs a long-term solution next to Chris Crocker.
11.San Francisco 49ers: Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
Anyone who watched New Orleans destroy San Francisco knows where the 49ers need help -- the cornerback position. The team's current starters are Walt Harris (not the guy who just got fired at Stanford) and Shawntae Spencer (not Felton Spencer's little brother). Leon Hall could be the No. 1 guy by mini-camp.
12.Buffalo Bills: Patrick Willis, MLB, Ole Miss
In my previous mock draft, I had the Bills taking a quarterback. Given J.P. Losman's improvement over the past few weeks, I'm changing this selection to either a defensive tackle or inside linebacker. Patrick Willis is the best player available of the two, and he should do a good job replacing London Fletcher, who happens to be a free agent this offseason.
13.St. Louis Rams: Paul Posluszny, OLB, Penn State
If there's anyone in this draft class who can turn St. Louis' defense around, it's Paul Posluszny. I mean, call me crazy, but Posluszny seems like an instant upgrade over Brandon Chillar. The Rams need him to help their 31st-ranked run defense.

After signing a decent contract, Ike Taylor finally has gotten exposed as a fraud this year. The Steelers desperately need an upgrade at the cornerback position.
17.Jacksonville Jaguars: Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State
Everyone saw how many passes Jacksonville's receiving corps dropped during its Monday Night Football contest against the Giants. All of the Jaguars wide outs happen to be of the possession variety. They need a speed-burner.
18.Cincinnati Bengals: Quentin Moses, DE/OLB, Georgia
Odell Thurman is likely done in Cincinnati, while David Pollack may never play again. So basically, the linebacking corps is in shambles.
19.Tennessee Titans: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
The Titans couldn't stop the run, partly because of a lack of talent at the defensive tackle position. In fact, it's the main reason why they couldn't beat the Patriots in Week 17 to get into the playoffs; Corey Dillon and Laurence Maroney looked unstoppable.

The Giants could use a running back at this juncture, but they'll likely take a defensive player and find Barber's replacement in the second round. New York quickly discovered that Sam Madison is not the cornerback they thought he was; Madison struggled this year, and is now nothing more than a third corner.
21. Denver Broncos: Lamar Woodley,DE/OLB,Michigan
pass rusher with a knack for getting after the quarterback just what the broncos need
22. New England Patriots: Rufus Alexander, OLB, Oklahoma
You know you have a problem at linebacker when you bring a 37-year-old former Pro Bowler out of retirement.
23.Dallas Cowboys: Michael Griffin, S, Texas
Dallas has been atrocious against the pass the final few weeks of the season, thanks to the fact that Sean Payton has exposed the Cowboys' weakness at safety.
24.Kansas City Chiefs: Justin Blalock, G/OT, Texas
Hmmm... I wonder what the Chiefs are going to do in this spot. Both of their offensive tackles retired prior to the 2006 season, so they can't be addressing that position, can they?
25.New York Jets: Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
With Kimo von Oelhoffen approaching Florida-retirement-home age, the Jets will be looking to draft a big defensive tackle who can help against the run; New York was ranked 26th in that category this year. Amobi Okoye needs to lose a few pounds, but he's pretty efficient against opposing ground attacks.
26.Philadelphia Eagles: Eric Weddle, S, Utah
Brian Dawkins is still playing really well, but his skills will quickly erode within the next few years. Meanwhile, Michael Lewis, once a promising safety, was benched in October. Andy Reid must address the safety position.
27.Indianapolis Colts: Marcus Thomas, DT, Florida
The Colts are dead last against the run because they have no size on the interior of their defensive line. Unfortunately for Indianapolis, Tony Dungy likes speed more than bulk. So, odds are that the Colts choose the smallest defensive tackle available. Sorry, Indy.
28. New England Patriots: Jeff Samardzija, WR, Notre Dame
When you're interested in guys like Doug Gabriel and Jabar Gaffney, you know you have major problems. Jeff Samardzija is an excellent receiver and a first-round talent, but he's also a huge gamble because he may decide to play baseball instead of football. He may drop into the second round.
29.Chicago Bears: Greg Olsen, TE, Miami
The Bears should have drafted a tight end in April; Rex Grossman needs a better safety valve than Desmond Clark.
30. Baltimore Ravens: Lawrence Timmons, OLB, Florida State
The Ravens don't need a linebacker right now, but they will if another team signs Adalius Thomas this offseason. Lawrence Timmons, OLB, Florida State
31.New Orleans Saints: H.B. Blades, MLB, Pittsburgh
H.B. Blades won't find it difficult to make his way into New Orleans' starting lineup; Mark Simoneau is nothing more than a special teams player.
32.San Diego Chargers: Sidney Rice,WR, South Carolina
the San Diego WR's are very underrated but a guy like Rice will do wonders

Oakland Raiders: Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
If the Raiders take JaMarcus Russell or another quarterback in the first round, they'll need to protect him with some new offensive linemen and supply him with better receivers. Robert Meachem is one of the faster receivers in the draft, so Al Davis will naturally be intrigued.
Detroit Lions: Brian Brohm,QB,LouisVille
Cleveland Browns: Levi Brown,OT,Penn St
I don't care if Cleveland's quarterback is Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson or Brevin Knight -- no signal caller can possibly have great success behind an offensive line that surrenders 54 sacks in a single season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Quinn Pitcock, DT, Ohio State
It shouldn't be surprising that the Buccaneers had problems generating pressure up front, given that they traded away Anthony McFarland a few weeks into the season.
Arizona Cardinals: Joseph Staley, OT, Central Michigan
The Cardinals can neither run the ball nor pass protect. That's astonishing, given that they have Edgerrin James, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin on the roster. Almost every single spot on Arizona's offensive line needs to be upgraded, starting at left tackle.
New York Jets: Tony Hunt, RB, Penn State
The Jets acquired this pick when the Redskins traded up in the second round of the 2006 Draft. Leon Washington is a quick, electrifying running back who can score a touchdown whenever he touches the ball. The Jets need a power back to be the thunder to Washington's lightning. Tony Hunt doesn't have break-away speed, but he is a tough, punishing runner who would be perfect for the Jets.
Minnesota Vikings: Charles Johnson,DE, Georgia
Houston Texans: Brandon Meriweather, S, Miami
Houston desperately needs to upgrade their abysmal secondary.
Miami Dolphins: Lawrence Timmons,OLB,Florida State
Atlanta Falcons: Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
San Francisco 49ers: Johnnie Lee Higgins, WR, UTEP
San Francisco needs an upgrade at the wide receiver position, currently occupied by Antonio Bryant and Arnaz Battle.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Beekman, G, Boston College
The Bills could go with a receiver or defensive tackle in this spot, but with all the major guys taken, Buffalo may settle with a solid interior lineman like Josh Beekman. By the way, since I don't have a third round up yet, I think a player Buffalo may target there is Ryan McBean, a defensive tackle from Oklahoma State. McBean needs to get bigger, but he has the quickness to fit into the Bills' cover-2 scheme.
St. Louis Rams: DeMarcus Tyler,DT,North Carolina St.

The Panthers have needed a dependable tight end ever since Wesley Walls retired. I'm not sure why they haven't acquired one.

Ahman Green rushed for more than 1,000 yards in 2006, but he turns 30 in February. The Packers need to find a long-term replacement as soon as possible.

Center Jeff Hartings is a former Pro Bowler, but he will be 35 by the commencement of the 2007 campaign. The Steelers need a young, talented prospect to eventually replace him.
Jacksonville Jaguars: John Wendling, S, Wyoming
Jacksonville's front seven is great, but the team needs help in the secondary.

It seems as though no one is doing a good job replacing Steve Hutchinson; Shaun Alexander is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry.

Right guard Marco Rivera will be 35 by the start of next season. The Cowboys need to find a younger, better replacement.

Eddie Kennison is an average No. 2, and Samie Parker should not be a starter in this league. The Chiefs have needed a top-notch receiver since Derrick Alexander's glory days.

It's either a tight end or a cornerback at this juncture; New York needs some depth beyond Justin Miller and Andre Dyson.

Buffalo Bills: Josh Beekman, G, Boston College
The Bills could go with a receiver or defensive tackle in this spot, but with all the major guys taken, Buffalo may settle with a solid interior lineman like Josh Beekman. By the way, since I don't have a third round up yet, I think a player Buffalo may target there is Ryan McBean, a defensive tackle from Oklahoma State. McBean needs to get bigger, but he has the quickness to fit into the Bills' cover-2 scheme.

The Panthers have needed a dependable tight end ever since Wesley Walls retired. I'm not sure why they haven't acquired one.
Green Bay Packers: Michael Bush, RB, Louisville
Ahman Green rushed for more than 1,000 yards in 2006, but he turns 30 in February. The Packers need to find a long-term replacement as soon as possible.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Ryan Kalil, C, USC
Center Jeff Hartings is a former Pro Bowler, but he will be 35 by the commencement of the 2007 campaign. The Steelers need a young, talented prospect to eventually replace him.
Jacksonville Jaguars: John Wendling, S, Wyoming
Jacksonville's front seven is great, but the team needs help in the secondary.
Cincinnati Bengals: Marcus McCauley, CB, Fresno State
Tennessee Titans: Dwayne Bowe,WR,LSU
New York Giants: Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn
Tiki Barber has already signed a contract with ESPN. While the Giants have Brandon Jacobs as a reserve, he's not a franchise running back. New York will have to acquire one.

Seattle Seahawks: Ben Grubbs, G, Auburn
It seems as though no one is doing a good job replacing Steve Hutchinson; Shaun Alexander is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry.
Dallas Cowboys: Mike Jones, G, Iowa
Right guard Marco Rivera will be 35 by the start of next season. The Cowboys need to find a younger, better replacement.
Kansas City Chiefs: Steve Smith, WR, USC
Eddie Kennison is an average No. 2, and Samie Parker should not be a starter in this league. The Chiefs have needed a top-notch receiver since Derrick Alexander's glory days.
New York Jets: Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
It's either a tight end or a cornerback at this juncture; New York needs some depth beyond Justin Miller and Andre Dyson.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jon Beason,OLB,Miami
I doubt Dhani Jones will be back next year. Given the Eagles' deficiency against the run, they could draft a linebacker in the second or third rounds.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kyle Young, C, Fresno State
The Buccaneers acquired this pick in the Anthony McFarland deal. Jon Gruden will use it to fix the center position.
Baltimore Ravens: Arron Sears,OT/OG,Tennessee
Jonathan Ogden is clearly on the decline; the perennial Pro Bowler will be 33 in July. The Ravens don't have any pressing issues right now, so they should address this. Sears could switch to OG if needed
Chicago Bears: Ryan Harris,OT,Notre Dame
Right tackle Fred Miller will be 34 next February, so the Bears will need to start searching for a replacement soon.
New Orleans Saints: Joe Newton, TE, Oregon State
I'm sure Sean Payton would like better production out of the tight end position; Mark Campbell caught only 18 passes in 2006.
New England Patriots: Fred Bennett, CB, South Carolina
An insurance policy just in case Asante Samuel leaves via free agency.
San Diego Chargers: Michael Johnson,S,Arizona
Might be a little early at this point in the draft but fills a need for the chargers who could use some depth a safety and free-safety.
