Well, the new season is almost upon us. As the new commissioner, I hope this season is just as good, fun and exciting as the league's inaugural season last year.

I know all of you are highly anticipating this upcoming season, especially with 2 "expansion" teams run by 2 guys who can only be classified as characters, Memphis Sizzle and Blackie Chan. This not only opens up more opportunities for players to show their stuff and play, it also opens the realm of more rivalries and trash talk. Now since many are anticipating the preview, let's get it started...

1st off, let's introduce the gentlemen alongside me to help start this season off right.

Let's introduce a guy who knows a thing or 2 about winning and QB's, Super winning QB, Phil Simms!!!
http://images.nfl.com/xxxvi/history/images/mvps/21-simms.jpg

next to him, is the knowledgeable defensive guru of our group, Tom Jackson
http://www.footballspeakers.com/i/jackson2.png

let's also bring out our coach, Bill Parcells http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/news/2002/01/19/parcells_career_ap/t1_parcells_all.jpg

to round it off, it's the exciting, "Primetime" Deion Sanders.

Welcome gentlemen, we'll start off by breaking down the reigning champ Wyoming Jackalopes after this quick commercial break

**note, this thread is for posting games and discussion about games(strategies, gameplans etc) all intervies shall be posted in the news thread, as shall trades, re-signngs, and paparazzi. Thank you

Ok, and we're back. Guys, Wyoming has had a pretty quiet offseason, but that seems to be there thing, stay quiet and talk on the field.
PS: yes, i know something about that
Deion: PUH-LEEZE is was Mr. Queit.(draws stares from rest of table)

Rice: Ok guys, let's dive right in to their outlook for next year.
Guys this team is strong everywhere, top to bottom. Phil, what is your take on Dylan Dellisanti, (95)QB?

PS: I love this kid, quiet leader, high draft pick last year, but took a big paycut to help his team. Smart, throwing only TWO Ints last year. makes up for lack of measureables in heart and brains.

Rice: Their RB Hart, is a truck, tough to stop at many times last year. Coach, how's he gonna do this year?
BP: Well, he's got Davis to run behind, and new TE addition in Curtis not only gives Dylan ANOTHER weapon, but is a guy who can open up holes for Benn and run to the next level with him to take out DB's.

Rice: So their O is looking very good, with those mentioned guys, you throw in 2 very consistent and talented WR's in Noose(92) and Baller(95). with this O, their D wont have to do much to win games, but how good are these guys, TJ and Deion?

TJ: Well, Parker and McDaniels are young and raw but will make a pretty big impact on the line. Their LB's have the extremly talented Jordan roaming the middle and being the leader, with the young Paul alongside him. Paul is soaking everything Kobe has to say, and keeps learning and improving, he's a sleeper to look out for.

DS: That front 7 is good and will make the secondary's job that much easier, but are led by the stud Alex Macdonald. Thomas and Hoppe are established guys who should flourish this year with pressure from the front 7. FS Jackson has alot to learn, but will improve with a full secondary, and will be able to go for some big hits that he loves.

Rice: ok guys, now that we have breakdown's on the O and D, give me one player to watch for this season out in Wyoming.

PS: Dellisanti, watch his numbers somehow improve from last years. a MVP candidate.
BP: Bryce Curtis, Dylan knows how to exploit mismatches and will hook up with this kid alot.
TJ: Kobe Jordan, a flat out stud at LB, watch for him to motivate this D and make big plays, often
Deion: I like TJ Thomas, quite season last year, will gain more confidence and breakout as the playmaker he is.

thanks guys, we'll take a break, and breakdown the New York Mafia

OK, back to the show where we'll have a chance to break down the Mafia, in the media capital of the world, NY, where 2 of our guys here have had success, to say the least. So, Phil and Bill, how will this team handle the pressure in NY coming off a year where they didnt win it all, which is always a disappointment in NY.

PS: Well Scott Marshall has a cannon, no doubt, but he doesnt always make the best of decisions, but his passion and gun make him a fan favorite.
BP: yes, and their D is very good, if not great. Their O doesnt have much firepower in the air other than James, they're depending on unproven Emerson and rookie Naughton Jr. Now back when Phil and I won, our WR's werent stellar, but we had a dominant D, is this NY team the same way? We'll find out.

TJ: this front 7 is very good and very under the radar. Their ends Moultie and Vadergriten will put pressure on the QB and Lewis and Brooks are studs up the middle. Which helps out an already very good secondary.

DS: Their secondary has the under the radar rookie Andrew Sydney who makes plays, period. Chris Stanton has to step up as the leader as Sydney and the safety alongside him, Stallings, are both young and raw.

Rice: so guys, players to watch for?

PS: Scott Marshall, if he keeps his INT's down and utilizes Lebron, he could really rack up the passer rating.

BP: For me, it's watch Rodney Mack, He showed flashes of greatness last year, and lets see if he can harness that and show it every game.

TJ: It's gotta be the rookie MLB Brooks. can the stud rookie LB step up and be a leader and preform?

DS: For me, its the kicker. Can Stantios-Fischer get his head straight after pulling a Scott Norwood(Simms and Parcells smile). He will be called upon alot if they cant get this airial attack going with the WR's. you can only count on a TE so much.

thanks guys, next up, is the expansion team, Hamilton Reapers.

stay tuned!

OK, again we're back and we'll be looking in depth and the 2 expansion team, the Hamilton Reapers, and the Las Vegas Showtime... Let's start with the Reapers. Phil, please break down their interesting QB situation.

PS: Well, its a common thing to see a very talented yet raw QB come to a team needing a QB. this team also goes out and acquires a vet QB. Hamilton signs the Russian Wall in the 6'7 Titov, but also signed the athletic Antwaan Davis. It's been announced Titov has won the job, and Davis may move to WR.

BP: even with this move, I'm not sold on this offense. trusting a raw QB, a QB turned WR at WR, an UDFA rookie as their RB hoping for a Ron Mexico Part Deux. Walker is a hybrid guy, not exactly fast enough at WR, and maybe to small at TE, but is a threat with his leaping ability and hands. They also took a flier on the raw but shifty Stone, let's see how that pans out. Titov is going to have to do a lot to get this O going.

TJ: Yes their O is young, raw and not the most talented, but look at this D, especially the front 7. Tank Johnson Jr is a space eater in the middle, but this group of LB is simply amazing. Sizzle, is a great talent both at LB and GM. he acquired another stud LB to go along side him in Krens, then drafted Slaughter. these 3 together frighten TE's on short routes, makes RB's nervous to cut back, and them blitzing will have QB's wary and nervous.

DS: YEs YES, you love LB's. but face it, their secondary is too raw and not great in coverage. Modano is the best all around talent but is still a rook. O'Driscol and Dockery are speedy playmakers but they'll get burnt a fair amount of times, speed isnt everything back there. Ripken is a very good SS, hard hitting and smart, but his speed isnt up to par, but is ok for a SS.

Rice: guys to watch?

PS: the foriegn Russian Wall, Titov
BP: Seth Harris, not the greatest year last season, has to show his #1 overal talent with a young foriegn QB.
TJ: Tank Johnson Jr. With stud LB's behind him, he wont have to do much, but just has to anchor the DL, and not rely totally on the LB's.
Deion: Modano, he's the best guy in their secondary, let's see what he can do out there.

OK, nice work guys, let's move on to the other expansion team out in Vegas, the Showtime...

PS: this team is loaded on O and will be lead by the smart accurate QB Joe Dyas. this kid will just explode with Free in the back field and will be able to throw to Blackie Chan, Jake Banks and Davis Jr. This team should be pass happy and it helps to have the best blocking RB in the league with World B. Free.

BP: Yea but i feel the World B Free will just flourish in this O. expect split wide sets from LV and have Free pound it at this D, tiring them, and giving Dyas time and a tired D to pick apart.

TJ: yea, yea more great O, but this DL is the best. Bauer and Brouwer not only rhyme, but they're both unbeliveable talents. Bauer has the nasty streak who can punish the QB(and terrorists) while Brouwer shuts down the middle. Their LB's include major stud LB Chad Reed and the somewhat dissapointing Mexico Eater. With the to stud B's in front of them they should be able to rack up stats.

Deion: Yes, the front 7 will be a force, but this secondary, although thin, has 2 studs who have some problems with their mouths and heads, but no doubt make plays on the field. Jennings and Biggums make plays on the field, but also make questionable decisions off the field

Rice: Guys to watch?

PS: Joe Dyas will break out with all these weapons, and as a WR/GM, Blackie is gonna pass ALOT, you can bet on it.

BP: Let's take the kicker route. this team has a lot of egoes on it, if Diggler misses a big kick(or any kick for that matter) this team may implode...

TJ: Its Mexico EAter. Can he rebound after a pretty bad year last year and solidify this stud filled front 7?

DS: It's Jennings. He talks alot, but can he back it up? he constantly states he's the best DB, but will he prove it this season? We'll see.

ok guys, up next we wrap it up with Toronto and Orlando, both will be very interesting...

scottyboy
08-29-2007, 10:25 PM
OK, we're back, let's wrap our show up by previewing the Orlando Flash and Toronto Juggernauts. Let's start with Toronto.

BP: Well Brian, this team traded alot for stud defender DeAngelo King, but probably gave up too much. Traded their stud LB for future picks which will help, but not NOW.

PS: Well you look now, they have an excellent core of guys, they just need MORE players. With stud RB Ron Mexico leading the way with who i say is a top 3 steal of the draft Morrison, Fletcher has some great options, but only 2...

TJ: Phil, same with their D. Great talent, but just not enough players. King Carter and Bell are a GREAT trio there, but they need more help upfront to protect King and let him blitz where he's at his best at OLB.

DS: I love Carter and Bell has an extremly bright future. but with virtually no pass rush, they have their work cut out for them.

Rice: Well guys, who to watch for?

PS: Mexico. Can he repeat his MVP season?
BP: Morrison, this kid's' got loads of talent, but as the primary recieving threat, he'll face double coverage for the majority of his ROOKIE season.
TJ: King. They gave up alot for this stud and he's already assumed the leader role, trying to convinve guys to stay and attract some UDFA's.
DS: Not for this season, but next, can Naughton Jr. add some more quailty players to a great core?

Rice: Thanks guys, now on the intruiging team of the Orlando Flash.

PS: Well this team is full of talented characters, and to start, look no further than Chris Cutler at QB. He's talented as anything and a great leader and motivator. He has overcome his alcohol abuse to be a great leader. He is very confident to the point of cockiness and i not shy with what he has to say. With an actual RB at RB, he can put up out of this world numbers.

BP: Yea, especially when you look with whats around him. Marselle has talent, but anger hurt his team last year with the early suspension. Cutler will have time behind stud OT Palmer to look for his 2 great WR's Janisch and 08 coveryboy Stone.

TJ: the O is loaded, but the D is strong and deep. Wrangler must get over his issues and work with this team, as he and Birdine would form an excellent pass rush. Behind them to stuff the run and blitz are 3 STUD LB's who are right with the Hamilton LB's, as you could debate on and on who's is better. Trey Lewis pumps up his whole team with his words and play on the field, not to mention his energy. Lewis and Wellingham form a solid outside duo to wreak havoc coming off outside blitzes.

DS:YES but i LOVE their safety duo. Beaman is an established safety, and shouldnt have to worry about carrying the ball much and Williams is a HEAVY hitter. Sneed has some to prove being a 1st round corner, but his future is as bright as the sun.

Rice: Ok guys, to wrap it up, guys to watch on Orlando?

PS: Like high scores, heart and deep bombs? just watch Cutler
BP: Julio Stone. His athltic ability and hands are superb, makes ridiculou catches.
TJ: Trey Lewis, just fun to watch and inspires you with his motivation and energy
DS: Sneed, he's got gobs of talent, lets see how it can carry over on a team with title hopes, depending on his coverage at CB

Rice: ok i'd like to thank Phil Simms, Bill Parcells, Tom Jackson, and Deion Sanders for joining me and breaking down this upcoming season. Thanks guys.

I want to wish all players best of luck on the upcoming season. the highly anticipated schedule will be released tomorrow.

2 very consistent and talented WR's in Noose(92) and Baller(95).

I don't mean to nitpick but I am pretty sure I'm the 95 and he's the 92. I remember reading that on one of the other pages.

Strengths: Great speed, agility, acceleration, leaping ability, and coverage skills. Essentially, a playermaker that can make the big pick. Tough, durable, and pretty intelligent.

Year: Rookie

Name: Demarco Stallings
User Name: USAF Chief
Team: New York Mafia
Overall: 82
Position: Safety
Height and Weight: 6'3", 219lbs.

Strengths: Demarco has been referred to as a "ball-hawk" being in position to make plays that few others could. He has great vision and is a devastating force in the middle of the field. Recievers hate to go to the middle of the field when he is playing. Excellent vocal leader on the field.
Weaknesses: Only 2 years starter experience in college, speed is questionable but adequate given his size. Unofficial clocked 40-time of 4.56 at NC State Pro Day. May fill the SS role better than a FS role. Intensity will lead to some unecessary roughness/late hit penalties. Not the best role model off the field.

Weaknesses: Sometimes will give up a big play trying to get one, can take himself out of the play trying to do too much. Has a big head and he's a little cocky.
Notes: He has already 4 childs in 4 different states, and seems on his way of beating Travis Henry's record.

I think we should add the other team's scheds in there too, scottyboy can just give them a win or loss, no writeup needed.
And we should make those logos smaller so they dont look so stupid on the front page

Basically. They would be the "expansion teams" if we decide to have more GMs next year, but for now they're just there to provide extra competetion for the teams to get into the playoffs.

Yes they can. None did last year, but there are only 6 playoff spots so I can guess that a few user-controlled teams will miss the playoffs.

By the way, the computer teams are mostly in the middle of the pack, but North Bay is like, crazy, crazy bad.

North Bay made the playoffs last year. They came second in the division and were one of the best teams. I think your confusing them with the Memphis maniacs who didnt win a game.

Yes he put that, but honestly if there's one thing that needs to be worked on with this it is the organization of how things are put together. There's no reason why someone outside of the GMs or commish should be posting in here. If players have concerns post in the other thread or PM.

Regardless, even if Vick moved to WR he wouldn't be near that good. And you made O' Driscoll into a CB also.

For this to run better we need organization and is it really that difficult to post your feelings about games in the news thread????? This is a new year and we want to make improvements to this year in and year out and this is one change I feel strongly about.

Well then, I see fit that my former kicker Dirk Diggler should play cornerback because he's got blinding speed that we have kept hidden and he will stay a 90.

I reallly think that the season thread should be for GMs to post lineups, stats and such as well as the commish post games and than another thread for discussion.

there's no point in trying to change the ratings so until the commish changes them he should keep them as is

Age: 25

Main Weakness: Questionable arm strength and he lacks ideal size

O'Driscoll (best rugby player in the world) has the skills to play CB. He's strong, fast, and can hit. He can take a guy down in open field (rugby experience) and rarely misses tackles... its the coverage that he's weak in (no experience) so therefore he isn't a 90 something he's an 84... i think thats a fair rating maybe even a little low...

A guy who doesn't have great speed, not a good knowing of football knowledge and poor decision making isn't something that translates to a good cornerback.

More like Donovan McNabb, but whatever.

I don't see the point of changing the rating. This league is just supposed to be fun, we should let everybody have a player that has a chance to do something decent for their team. Its not my fault that somebody made one more QB at the beginning than was needed and they all happened to have higher overalls than me.
