The ball design makes the new one look a lot cleaner. As does the elimination of the overlapping of the ball and stars.

One star for each division.. That's so sexy and meaningful.

I'd take the classic

The new one would be absolutely perfect if not for the font.

The NFL logo has now also been Goodell-ized. I like it though, more modern yet it isn't that different. I guess I never really noticed the curly L before though, I will now miss it though, its pimp.

If it ain't broke...

Was your TV broke when they introduced Sunday Ticket? Was your tape deck broke when they came up with the CD?

Innovation is your friend.

I like the redesign, and I love the new NFL.com.

PS. If only Colts.com could be anywhere near the level of the other great team sites.

Buccaneers.com is awesome.

I never would've noticed the difference in logos.

I miss the stars but it looks alright. At least its not one of those stupidly modern designs that everyone will be saying "Wtf were they thinking" in 10 years time.

"In every sense thus far since I was drafted, it's been more of a disciplinary feel. When, where is the positive stuff from you going to come out?" Troy Smith said.

"When you say positive stuff, I walk around talking about the players and what they do in their communities every place I go," Goodell said. "Unfortunately, the media hits you with the negatives, and the commissioner has to deal with a lot of negatives. But I promote our players every chance I can about what we are doing in our communities, (and) what the players our doing in the community that reflects on the shield.

"When I talk about that shield, I talk about that shield because everyone here has an interest in it Troy. It is not just about your individual team. It is not just about where you came from, the Ohio State University. It's about what you represent as an NFL player right now, and we all represent that shield."

http://blogs.usatoday.com/sportsscope/2007/06/smith-wanted-an.html
---------------------------

Ever since the Rookie Symposium I knew Goodell loved the shield. The Commish makes a visit to the Department Of Redundancy Department in this statement to Troy Smith.

The shield was not protecting the NFL from the bad guys (insert troubled players here) so he had to get a new, better one.

I noticed the logo change when they showed the new logo on PTI (with no mention of it being new)

Stars: I like that there's only 8 now. It's less crowded and actually has meaning.
Football: I can live with it, especially because it looks like the Lombardi Trophy.
NFL Font: CHANGE IT BACK!!!

LonghornsLegend
08-31-2007, 05:58 PM
who cares? they took out a few stars, straightened up the football, straightened out the L, yeaaaaa they really shook things up

When I saw the two logos next to each other on PTI, I thought "Why are they showing the NFL logo twice?"

The old football was nicknamed the "Hamburger" in the NFL league office.
