He weighed in at 6' 5.5" 332 pounds and ran a 4.92 forty yard dash. His arms were measured at 34" and he scored a 31 on the Wonderlic test. He also benched 225 pounds 28 times. Benedict also has a 435 pound bench, 625 pound squat, and power clean of 330 pounds. Don't worry, the workout will not effect his eligibility as no money or favors were discussed or given, and he has never negotiated with an agent.

if we go 4-3 he's still easily one of the best 4-3 Pass rushers.

Of course I would love to have Gholston, who wouldnt. However I dont think we have the luxory of taking a OLB hybrid in round 1. I really think its o-line and corner is a possibility. Also I was thinking today about going to the 4-3 and I changed my mind, I would like it and I really think Tomlin should consider the move. Draft a stud 4-3 DE and bring back the 4-3 to Pitt.

Hate to be the first to say it but that O-line could possibly be the worst in the league. Colon has taken very few snaps at center and I'm not comfortable labeling him our center of the future with that kind of experience.

Capizzi hasn't looked great or anything this preseason. He hasn't been horrible by any means but he has taken a few penalties. Another guy that I don't think can be thought of as a starter in the future. If he came in and played great and was going to make the team then maybe you say he could start in a few years but for him to not be able to bump Essex off the roster doesn't say good things for him.

I would say our 09 line will have Mahan at C, Simmons at RG, Kemoeatu at LG, and Colon at RT. LT is the only area we don't have someone in line to take over at. This is a position I would say is worthy of gettting a 1st or 2nd round pick, playing behind Smith for a season and then taking over.

Pittsburgh O-lines just don't go through that much change. Mahan is likely to be the starter for atleast the next 4 years. Simmons is rumored to be getting an extension so he is likely to stay aswell.

Gholston is a physical freak and literally scares me. He would be an absolute beast to have, and would give us an amazing group of young pass rushers.

Other than that, I think a tackle would be a good pickup, but other than Jake Long and maybe Sam Baker, I can't think of an outstanding OT that I would use a first round pick on as of right now. Maybe once the college season is close to over that might change, but not now.

As for corners, I wouldn't take a corner in the first 2-3 rounds. I think Ike is gonna have a comeback year, Mcfadden and Townsend are solid, and G-A-Y is looking good too. Plus, Tomlin is a secondary guru and could definitely increase the level of play of our current DB's. I'm just gonna wait until the season is over before passing judgement on the CB's we have.
