Make way for YOUR 2007 Defensive Rookie of the Year.. GERALD ALEXANDER!!

Though Idrees Bashir also played pretty good in the Preseason.. I'd rather go with the Youthly, Beastly, Manly mans man.. Gerald Alexander!

Me to. Get him a year or experience and then unite him with Bullocks next year.

Bryant, Wilson, Smith, and Fisher . . . is that it?

And who are the safeties? Kennedy, Alexander, and Bashir . . .

God... so brutal... but I feel the same way.

Surprised to see Sanders off the team. I kept hearing about him...

Oh, and why in the WORLD did we cut Kasper?! (Joke...)

We could've used his return ability.

Maybe the Raiders will sign him to help motivate Mike Williams.

Yeah who is our 5th corner with AJ gone.

Please don't let it be Tony Beckham.

Someone is going to be disappointed when he sees the Lions depth chart...

You can basically scratch Fernando Bryant off the Depth Chart too.. He'll get injured for the year in Week 1.

this year, he's a rookie. And before his senior year meltdown one of the top prospects.

Baldwin was waived as well..

Lions | Baldwin could return

The Detroit Lions are expected to sign LB Johnny Baldwin to their practice squad if he clears waivers.

If we got all our cut draft picks on the practice squad then it really erases all the criticism. But nobody putting a waiver claim on a 4th rd CB should be a little bit to worry about though.

According to NFLN, the Chiefs have claimed Baldwin off waivers.

Why'd they cut Johnny Baldwin?? I thought he played pretty well for a Rookie, and it seemed like the coaches seemed to like him.

Oh god. What a mistake by the Lions. I think they thought it was a given he would go unclaimed.

Must you really ask?
It's really quite obvious that
Lingering idiot and
Long-time protector and
Enforcer of bad decision-making did it.
Now I wanna know: why is he still GM?

Yeah, practice squad players have practically no chance to ever become NFL starters. You have to be pretty bad to get cut as a NFL rookie, the salary cap era necessitates that most rookies make the team and that 2nd and 3rd year non starters are cut to make the salaries fit the cap. That is why so few draft picks get cut in their 1st season by any NFL team in today's game.

I still don't know why they cut baldwin. Just seems like a stupid-ass thing to do.
