That is very surprising. Why had I not heard about his injury before? What a huge loss for the Patriots. I think this deserves its own thread, after all Seymour is a perennial pro-bowl player and many think he is Canton-bound.

This hurts a Patriots defense that just got one playmaker back, Samuel, and now they lose him for atleast 6 weeks. Ouch!

Wow, that's big news. This weekend certainly hasn't been short on surprising developments.

Devastating blow IMO, who do they have backing him up?

In my opinion we just got a tad stronger rushing the passer, but a whole lot weaker against the run. There is not one player on the D-line better then Seymour at stuffing the run.

Jarvis Green is by no means Richard Seymour, but he's not some crappy backup that can't play either. The loss hurts, but it isn't the end of the world.

Jarvis Green can start for almost every team in the league, and James Sanders played well when Harrison was out last year.

Remeber this also, Moss, Welker, and Stallworth will be there.

Just trying to make things interesting. Wouldn't want to see the 72 Dolphins on TV every week crying would you?

Ouch, that sucks, sorry to the Pats fans. Being a Jets fan I wouldn't like this to happen, it's upsetting. That being said, while it's unfortunate and a potential devastating blow to their defense, again being a Jets fan, this does give us a better shot. I know the Pats fans love to claim how much depth their team has, but we shall see, it's gunna be closer now, more so than people think...
