Monday Night Football... NYG is coming in the game banged up but in no way can we overlook them. Their front four is still dominant and could be a problem if the line can't protect Drew. We need to win this game to keep on track and ahead of the Falcons. I think Michael Boley being out will be huge especially with Darren Sproles in play.

While I hope it's a blow out, I'm never the one to get ahead of myself. If you guys can pressure Brees without bringing more than 4, then it will allow you to drop more in coverage to try to match up against the rest of our weapons. Not to mention Eli Manning has been playing pretty damn well this season - Hakeem Nicks & Victor Cruz will be a test for our secondary.

We'll probably put up 21-28 points. If Fewell continues to play the same defense I've seen for the year then it'll be an easy victory for you. I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah I'm pretty nervous for this game, I have a feeling the Giants come out with something to prove after a lot of media talk questioning their motivation the last 2 games. I know they are banged up but the Front 4 is still really talented, and can cause trouble for Brees if our Tackles are not up to the task tonight. We also lost our best Blocking TE, Dave Thomas for the season.

I just have a feeling this game will be close late, and might come down to Brees/Eli in the final possession.

Primetime, SNF.

A chance for us to go 9-3... if we can get out to an early start, I like our chances. Big game especially with the Falcons right behind us.

I'm glad Suh decided to pull a stupid move when he did. Even with him making an appeal, if they cut his suspension in half, he'll still be out.

My only real concern is that it is a short week, and I'm afraid of coming out flat following a big prime time win. After our last big Prime time win, we came out flat with little emotion against the Rams.

I think the team learned from that game, and will prepare better through out the week, plus I'm more comfortable because we are at Home where we seem to play with more Energy regardless.

I dont think it was we played flat against the Rams, its just natural for the Saints to lose to a o'fer team. We did it to the Browns, Rams before, couple other times. We always do it :/

I dont like the matchup of Megatron vs our CBs. Look for Malcolm to be shading to break up the pass. I actually think the best matchup to watch will be Jeff Backus vs Will Smith. Would love for the Manimal to have a impact game.

I think Chris Houston & Louis Delmas not playing is much bigger than Suh being out.. gotta take advantage of their injuries in the secondary. Our defense will be tested with Megatron, Scheffler & Pettigrew, though. Burleson & Young has made plays for the Lions too this year as well. Hopefully, our defense can get to Stafford.

Big game tomorrow.. first time to play a game outside since our Tampa Bay loss. Has some makings of a trap game..

Titans trying to get a wild card place in the AFC, Chris Johnson has the potential to do damage although our run defense has thoroughly imroved over the season and the last time we played Hasselback he destroyed our defense (granted, we were depleted A LOT). Plus, the Titans could be able to pressure Brees if they follow the TB & STL approach.. gonna be a good one, though.

The stakes for us to win are high too.. if we win and DET or CHI loses (#TebowTime) then we clinch a playoff spot. If we win and ATL loses (GO CAM!) then we win the NFC South so tons for us to play for. Hopefully, we can come through.

Good game guys! My best friend in high school was a Katrina transplant, so he's a big time Saints fan, so I root for ya'll whenever I get the chance. Totally bummed about the loss and was hoping for a great comeback led by Locker, but at least ya'll are an NFC team so the loss won't hurt our tiebreaker chances vs the Bengals and Jets. Best of luck for the rest of the year!

Thanks for the love, TitanHope. You're one of my favorite posters here regardless of your team and I was a huge fan of Locker as a prospect so while it sucked that he did pretty well against us, it looks legit. I honestly think he should start over Hasselbeck. Good luck on your AFC Wild Card hunt!

With the #2 seed in sight, we gotta keep the momentum going and although the Vikings have been pretty horrid this year we cannot let this become another St. Louis Rams game. And just our luck, Adrian Peterson should return this week - we've done a great job of improving our run defense (I'll say since the Atlanta game our run defense has been highly improved compared to earlier in the season) and stopped CJ last week but Peterson will be tough as well. Also, a lot of attention has to be shown to Percy Harvin too as he's been on fire the past few weeks.

With the past two losses we've handed the Vikings, they will be up for this game for sure. Making sure Jared Allen doesn't get to Brees will be vital - we should be able to win matchups against our secondary, however, Brees will have to be given time.

I guess I'll chime in-
I am really worried about the outcome of these next two games. A few minor but nagging injuries have the potential to jump up and bite us in the ass ( Moore, Vilma, Ingram, Ellis). I'd just as soon rather see us blow these last two off as far as victory is concerned since we already have a play-off berth. Brees and the record are secondary to getting through to GB then on to the SB.

I've been out doing business so haven't been able to pop in and check on my Saints brethren.

Honestly huge game tonight, I'm nervous. This could decide the division right here. I think the key is going to be how we match our mismatch players Sproles, Graham.. against Atlanta's Linebacking Corps. with Lofton, Weatherspoon. If they step up and Defend the Flat, intermediate area we could struggle a bit.

Also despite the hoopla surrounding getting Drew the record, which yes is important I still think we need to do our best to stay balanced and run the ball well... that will help Drew a ton with play action.

I have a feeling though Sean / Drew come out guns blazing in Shotgun 4-5's wide, and just start slinging it though. Which does make me a tad nervous.. but in these guys we trust and they know what they are doing.

I disagree with this, atleast tonight we need to go hard and lock up the Division. We need to ensure we get atleast 1 Home game this post season, I have faith that we can win on the road... but it's just a lot easier on yourself if you can play at Home.

Final game of the regular season. Going against a hot Carolina team.. Coach Payton already said that we're going to play the majority of our starters but it's sooo crucial that we don't have any major injuries. Hopefully St. Louis can pull off a miracle and we could somehow get the #2 seed.

It feels weird having to pull for GB and against SF. I don't want to play Atlanta again in, and especially in the play-offs.

Auron

What a great way to finish the Regular Season. I think we accomplished everything we wanted this week. Convincingly beat a Division Rival in Carolina, finished 8-0 at Home, Brees, Sproles solidified their records, (Graham almost break a record). Finally won a Regular Season Finale game.

Great way to go into the playoffs firing on mostly all cylinders, much different feel going into the post-season this year than it was last year after a pretty deflating loss to Tampa.

Only thing that could have made today better would have been St.Louis winning giving us the Bye. Oh well can't have it all. Still much to accomplish though.

We didn't get the #2 in the NFC so the we will face the Lions at home next Saturday. Hopefully, it WON'T be how our last playoff game was in the Wild Card Round. Unlike our last meeting, Suh will be playing although judging by how many points Matt Flynn put on the Lions today.. Brees could be in store for a big day.

Just because we beat them once, we can't take them lightly and Matt Stafford has been ballin' as of late. Let's go out and take this one!

I can't agree more. He had better grow into the position at which he was drafted is all I can say. I have to eat my words in that area. I was excited to get Ingram even if I had to acknowledge we paid more than we should have for him. Looking back, it turns out it was a pretty bone head move. DeMarco Murray, Roy Helu, Kendall Hunter and Jacquizz Rodgers all would have made better 2nd round, non-trade scenario picks.

Even though Ingram was starting to come around and play really well before he went down.. I think Ivory has outperformed him thus far, and is the better all around back at this point in time.

Regarding this Detroit game. It's going to be war. They are a much healthier team than last time we played them, and are going to be out to prove something after basically blowing the last game away with numerous penalties. I think we're going to need our best game to date to win, I also don't like Lance Moore being out although I think we can manage.

Good game to the Lions you guys played us much tighter than the score showed. Moving on, great 2nd half but a few things definitely need to improve next week in San Fran.

Can't have the early turnovers that we had tonight, Colston fumble, and the blown protection which caused the Brees strip was just inexcusable. Took away potential scores.

Gave up too many Passing yards, now Calvin Johnson is an incredible player but when we bracket a guy, run coverage underneath 1 guy they shouldn't be able to complete so many passes as easily as it happened tonight.

This is going to be a really tough, disciplined 49ers Defense we're playing. Undoubtedly the best Defense we're going to face all year and we're going into their house.

I actually posted this on the Pro Football board but:

I'm actually going to the NO/SF game... my first real Saints game experience (and 2nd NFL experience overall) since I saw them play in 2005 in San Antonio against the Falcons in the Hurricane Katrina year. I'm talking Aaron Brooks, Joe Horn & Donte' Stallworth days... so you know I'll be AMPED for this one. Can't wait to see this one.. will be screaming loud and hard. SF is about 6 hours or so away from me so I'll have to drive on my hands but it'll be worth it.

Flyboy

So this morning I drove six hours from LA to SF and just some quick observations:

- I am staying in downtown SF and I can tell you there is A LOT of Saints fans here. A LOT. I might even say I have honestly seen more Saints fans more than 49ers.. or at the very least it's a push. At the game tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you'll hear it come through much like the first meeting against Atlanta this year and that it sounded much like a home game than an away game. I'll be cheering my lungs out, that's for sure.

- When walking back to my hotel, I saw Charlie Brown with a family member hanging out on the street and so I tell him, "Good luck out there tomorrow!" even though I know he's on IR. I think I took him by surprise that I actually knew he was a player for the Saints.

That's all I really had. I'll be tweeting updates I see on the field during warmups (how Harper looks in warmups, etc). WHO DAT!!!!!!

Dang good luck Flyboy, hope you have a good time and enjoy yourself.

As for the game not really sure what to expect, 49ers have a great Defense probably the best we've faced all season. So I'd be surprised if we scored 30 or more against them, plus we haven't had success on the Road in the playoffs under Payton hopefully that changes. Well it needs to.

This is a HUGE game. It will be interested to see which team adapts to the style being played. Out of all the playoff games being played today and tomorrow this is the most intriguing due to the contract of styles.

Neither team has really faced a team the caliber of who they're playing today. The Saints haven't played a smash mouth team yet and the 9ers only real comparison was a Lions team they faced in week 6.

I respect the 9ers defense tremendously. It's stifling and they play disciplined football. They have the best pair of inside backers in the NFL currently and are incredible against the run. I think the media is overhyping the Saints to a degree due to how high powered they are in the Dome.

To me it's been about 55/45 in favor of the Saints as far as the hype is concerned but this is also widely considered to be the most difficult match-up to predict.

Not really sure what to expect from this one, mainly because I can't tell what kind of swing Washington is on.

Well, for some reason the Redskins always, always play us extremely tough. Debating back to the 2006 season where they beat us in the Dome and even in 2009 season in which we won the Super Bowl, where we needed OT to beat them. They just always seem to have our number so I'm expecting the same in this one... at least maybe their defense will do a good job against our offense early on. I like our chances to still win the game, though; the Dome will be absolutely going insane with all the stuff that happened in the offseason and will be a buzzsaw for RGIII to walk in.

Hopefully, Greer will be back and starting as well... Lofton will be playing so that's a good thing.

First of all good job Redskins, you guys thoroughly outplayed us and could have put the game away earlier if not for a Special Teams Blocking miscue, and a couple of dropped Interceptions.

That was a complete disaster, the team played with no discipline, 12 penalties? You can bet that would never happen under Payton. Veterans, who should be leaders made critical mental lapses, Colston not securing a catch leading to a fumble out of the endzone, Patrick Robinson failing to get off the field on Special teams resulting in too many men on the field, Lance Moore did not have the crispest of games, even Drew Brees looked off and let off some negative body language.

I hate to say it but it looked like this team really missed Payton, and came into this game distracted by the off the field drama. From all accounts this Defense will be very porous through out this season, especially with the injuries at Corner.

At the end of the day it's still just 1 game out of 16 but we need to see a lot more passion, and emotion from the Saints.

Sorry it's late guys. Week One bummed me out and I've been away dealing with life, work and school.

Anyhow, I'll keep it succinct.... we need to win this one. Period.

Well, we let an up-and-coming team stick it to us 2 weeks in a row.
K.C. is chomping at the bit looking at the schedule.

I'm still not over this loss.... I feel like I did in 2007 and 1997 when the team started 0-2.

Yeah this kind of feels like '07, hopefully it doesn't get that bad to the point where we go 0-4, but this is definitely the lowest I've felt as a fan since that point.

Right now it just doesn't feel like there's any fire, or passion on this team. Coaching really does matter, and it seems like too much burden has fallen on Kromer, Carmichael, and Spags.

The Defense has been bad, can't stop the run, big passing plays being given up. Patrick Robinson's dropped at least 3 Interceptions that have hit him in the hands so far? Our Safety play is still bad, and we've tackled poorly.

The Offense has been disappointing as well. Pass Protection has been a huge problem Strief, and Bushrod have struggled big time and we're not devising protections to help them. The Wide Receivers have been a liability, Colston is not playing like himself (maybe still hurt?).. Everyones gone through drops even Moore, and Graham. Brees has not been as accurate and crisp.

If we lose to KC at Home I'm not sure this team makes it past 8 wins this year.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to see much of either Saints games this season (new job's work schedule has be working 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) but from what I hear, I haven't been missing much.

What, in y'all's opinion, is the biggest reason for this less than stellar start for the Saints?

Dropped passes, inaccurate Brees, mediocre o-line, no defense, and imo absolutely no fire that we have seen from the Saints the past few seasons.

I didn't see a week 3 thread but I wanted to say good game. That was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen - both ways - but it was an entertaining game anyway.

Continued health and good luck the rest of the way guys. I definitely wouldn't count you out in that division.

Good game.

I'd count us out this team sucks, worst Defense I've ever seen, and we've had some bad Defenses these past few years.

Pretty much a guaranteed 150+ rushing yards, and 400 yards of Offense for each opponent we face.

Lol, that pretty much sums it up.

I think I'm done watching NFL Football until 1 of 2 things happen.

A.) Sean Payton gets re-instated. Or

B.) Roger Goodell gets fired.

Thanks, vidae, and good luck to your Chiefs. I was at the game as a gift from my dad. His wife and my fiance were out of town so he gave me a choice of going to Auburn for the LSU game or going to the Saints game and I chose the Saints.

Regardless of how enjoyable an atmosphere it was and how cool it was seeing Steve Gleason's statue in person was, the game itself was piss poor. The officiating was just a notch under what we saw Monday night with Green Bay and Seattle. However, that's not an excuse for how Jammal Charles just bent over our defense and raw-dogged us for four quarters plus overtime.

I'm still bitter and am done with football under Goodell gets fired or the real refs come back. But I take nothing away from Kansas City; ya'll played a hell of a game and need to be commended.

Congrats, man. Good luck in your division and I hope ya'll have continued health.

Sigh.

I'm not counting on a win (which is pretty sad considering I haven't felt like this in a LONG time about the team), but who knows... we might be surprised. If we can keep it competitive much like the Opener last season, I'd be impressed at this point..

After looking back at some highlights and short segments, I must say our first rounder this year has to be a DE. Mingo, Montgomery or Werner: I don't care. We had only one sack when we should have had several. Pressure on opposing QB's is what we need.

If our entire drafted consisted of Defensive Ends, and Outside Linebackers I wouldn't complain.

Late again but up before the game.

We meet Peyton Manning again since the Super Bowl and he's been on an absolute tear... I like our chances to score some points although blocking Miller and Elvis will be crucial, but if we are going to win our defense will have to play some damn good football..and with this season I'll be happy with how we played against San Diego. Hopefully we can go 3-4 and continue the march.

Our D looked like a leaky sieve and Drew just wasn't Drew. A allow them to get to tkeem Nicks is the only bright spot on our Defensive Line. Our DE's put little no no pressure on the QB and our DT's don't swallow up blockers, but allow them to get 5 yards deep and contact LB's far to often. This makes our LB's and DB's have to work twice as hard for half the gains. No wonder we look like crap.

Monday Night Football - our playoff chances are very bleak right now but if we expect to have a shot at all we need to win this one. Should be interesting to see what we do on offense with Darren Sproles out..hopefully we can rely on PT, Ingram and Ivory to help sustain the running game and contain the explosive Eagles' offense.

I loved having Chris Ivory back.

It seems like you guys are a different team week to week. Which is good and bad. To me that says you guys control your own fate each week. You don't play to the level of your competition, rather you simply go out there, play your game and the result is totally based off your own execution.

Good luck this week. May the best team win!

And that is the result of not having a proper Head Coach this season.

With Sean Payton we had one of the best Game planning, Play calling Offensive Minds in the League.. and he almost always got his team up and motivated to play each week.

Without him it's clear the Crisp Execution of plays just isn't there some weeks. No where more so is this evident than in our 2nd half Offensive playcalling, I don't have the numbers but we've greatly struggled on Offense in the 2nd half of games and that's because we haven't made the proper adjustments. That almost never happened with Sean Payton he would always adjust to what the Defense was doing, if we were struggling with protection up front he would adjust the Blocking schemes, chip the ends more, roll Brees out, that's not happening this year.

I agree, and I don't think either will be there by the time we're picking.

Seems like we're probably picking in the 13-16 range, and I'm hoping the direction we go will be Edge Pass Rusher or Offensive Tackle. I hope maybe Montgomery can slip to us, but if not the guy that we're most likely to be in position to land will be Dion Jordan. Explosive athlete, with long arms.

I imagine this is the case. During the Dallas game, the comment was made that our front 4 had 3, first round draft picks on it (Smith, Ellis and Jordan). The problem is that they are not playing like 1st rounders and there is no way we resign Smith and Ellis for the kind of money they will want playing the way they are. I don't see us going for anything other than the best DT or DE on the board when it is our turn on the clock.

It should really be about DE or DT in the first. If for some reason we can't sign Bushrod, then OT becomes maybe a position of need IMO...I would love for us to take a big NT and go to a 3-4 type of defense but I doubt that happens.

I really doubt we resign Ellis or Bushrod unless Loomis does some
Obi Wan crap on them. Smith will get released, so DE, DT an OT wil all be big priorities.
