I believe if their previous team doesn't give them a qualifying offer by a certain date (I think its something like mid March), they become UFA.

According to this (http://www.nflpa.org/Resources/ActivePlayerSearch.aspx?id=32989) it doesn't but I am not sure thats correct, normally that site is accurate however.

agreed, I thought blaze will keep the first post updated. And we will just notify him of re-signings, trades, franchise/transition tags, and FA signings along the way. It would take up way too much space if each team posts an "acquisition chart" in this thread.

Well he can't by definition be a RFA because he has 4 or more accrued seasons. I have heard that he was going to become a UFA but according to NFLPA site he has one more year left on his deal.

I do realize he signed a 6-year deal but I beileve it was similar to Donte Stallworth's deal (last year voidable if certain incentives are reached). I was just wondering if he actually reached those incentives.

It seems strange to me that both Grant and Stallworth were both 1st round picks in 2002 for the Saints, both signed 6 year deals and both are only making $545,000 in the last year of their of their respective contracts.

Browns need to nab up Leonard Davis and start him at RG.

I also read last season that Clements wouldnt mind playing with his home state team, the Browns. But that will most definately come down to a money issue.

Colts have a bunch of FAs, but only 3 that are key (Freeney, June and Harper).

It's unlikely that they resign all 3 of those guys, but perhaps they could sign 2 of 3.

Colts Outlook:

QB-Jim Sorgi-RFA
He's not exactly the greatest backup QB or anywhere close but at his rate he'll probably stay. Considering that Sorgi's main talent is carrying the clipboard, a job he excels at, he'll stay at the league minimum. Prediction: STAYS

RB-Dominic Rhodes
As a scat back, he's excellent but he's not a starter in the NFL. As well as his speed, his patience has been improved upon this year as a split back to Addai. Addai is ready for the full amount of carries and Rhodes won't settle for 50-75 carries a year. Rhodes may wind up in Houston if they give up on Gado and Dayne. I doubt it, though as Dayne's been steady at times as has Lundy. Prediction: GOES

FB-James Mungro
Klecko has excelled as a blocker and part-time receiver, Mungro will probably be back during preseason and may be cut at the end. Prediction: Temporarily STAYS

DE-Dwight Freeney
We all know how great Freeney has been when he's anywhere near on the top of his game. He's a pass-rushing threat and has been excellent in the past 6 games including the playoffs. Now, he may want a bigger contract then he deserves. If so, expect some restructuring of Stokley and Diem's contracts to happen. Prediction: STAYS

LB-Cato June
He's great in coverage but is one of the worst LB'ers in the league when it comes to tackling. He's been good before this year but I doubt he returns at a price that he might demand. Considering that the Colts have a bad history of not keeping LB'ers and getting others to excel in that position, he's going to go. GOES

OG-Jake Scott and Ryan Lilja
Scott has been pretty decent at times this year but with Dylan Gandy emerging behind him, I think he'll be the one that goes. Lilja has injury issues but when healthy, he's slightly better than Scott. Scott goes, Lilja stays.

Those look like reasonable predictions, though you're forgetting Harper, David and Morris.

With so many FAs, depth at certain positions will become an issue, but some of the positions have backups that maybe even better.

I expect Dylan Gandy, Marlin Jackson, Kelvin Hayden, Tyjuan Hagler, Freddie Keiaho and maybe Tim Jennings to get a shot next season.

Philliez01

I knew I was forgetting some, MaxV, thanks!

CB-Jason David
Last year in the beginning of the season, David was probably the weakest starter on the defense. But since then, David has developed into a pretty decent CB and while he's bad in ZONE, he has improved enough to limit big plays. Sanders presence helps him too, but David has potential given his age. Prediction: STAYS

CB-Nick Harper
He is the best CB on the Colts roster as of know, but the fact is, the Colts have spent a few Day One picks on CBs in prior drafts and they should be close to developing. Harper, 31, will most likely get the Larry Tripplett treatment and get a contract that's probably steeper then what he deserves; though Harper (unlike Tripplett) has been pretty successful minus the Tackle. Buffalo? Prediction: GOES

LB-Rob Morris
I expect Gardner to be gone but this is an interesting scenario. At SAM, he's been a great surprise and while he is lacking in coverage, he's a pretty good tackler. He's been a good ST player but with Keiaho waiting in the wings, as well as Hagler, who knows about this one. For the sole purposes of depth reasons, I think Morris GOES

I expect Gandy to be in the starting lineup sans Scott or Lilja. He's been too good to leave on the bench and he's in his 3rd year which Mudd says is typically the season where the OL fully develops. I think Jennings will be the team's dime back and Jackson will take over for Harper which leaves Hayden in the nickel. I wouldn't be entirely shocked if David is also let go in favor of Hayden.

Ashley Lelie voided the last year of his contract, making him a free agent.

I imagine he'll garner a considerable amount of attention if he accepts a reasonable contract given the very weak list of WR's

Ophyeus Roye(DE) might be a free agent, tho the browns will probably resign him to a VERY short contract since we cant afford to start completely over with our Dline. but Alvin McCinley(sp?)DE will be a f/a. not that he's worth listing.

also, rumor is we are releasing Terelle Smith(FB)

Wide receiver Donté Stallworth also probably is going bye-bye. The free-agent crop of wideouts is extremely lean, and Stallworth, who averaged 19.1 yards per catch this season, is expected to draw quite a bit of interest.

As with Garcia, the Eagles have said they wouldn't be averse to re-signing Stallworth. But they're not interested in a bidding war. General manager Tom Heckert is on record as saying he and coach Andy Reid would be content playing with a four-man receiving corps of Reggie Brown, Hank Baskett, Jason Avant and Greg Lewis. Wonder how Todd Pinkston's footsies are doing?

If theres one player I want the Minnesota Vikings to target it's Stallworth. He excelled in the WCO last season and given the teams current WR situation theres no question he helps in filling a big void. The Vikings have plenty of cap room and while they've expressed that they may not make a big splash in FA, I would expect Stallworth the be at the top of their list much like Hutch last season.

The Chargers have been rumored to be cutting Donnie Edwards for years now.

Honestly, with their cap room (which is solid) and the likely lack of decent 3-4 ILB's in the free agent market, I think they would be foolish to let him go. He may not be best utilitized in the 3-4 but he still makes a ton of plays.

Thankfully Jim Sorgi is a restricted free agent, although I'm sure teams will be lining up to give up their 1st round picks for him.

As for Nick Harper, as I've said weeks ago, I think he's played himself into a good contract in a few weeks' time. He's a good player, but moreso thanks to the proliferation of the Cover 2/Tampa 2 and the league-wide need for defensive backs, as well as amount of available money that's going to be out there. I have had Minnesota penciled in as the most likely suitor for months, what with their desperate need to upgrade the secondary (Smooty's days seem to be numbered) and their cap space.

DeVonte Edwards,Ronyell Whitaker, Charles Gordon, or Will Hunter is most likely going to be the nickel back next year (unless we draft a CB really high, very unlikely, but possible)

Much to my surprise...

The Bengals and free agent offensive lineman Eric Steinbach are expected to begin contract talks in the coming days.
Steinbach is said to be Cincinnati's top offseason priority, but is "sure to visit Chicago and Cleveland" if a deal can't be reached. The Bills have also been mentioned as possible suitors for the versatile Steinbach.

I figured we wouldn't even bother with him given Whitworths production. Either they want to keep Whitworth in waiting and eventually have him replace Willie or something I'm not sure. Stacy Andrews seems like the future at RG so that's not an option.

I feel bad for Dwight Freeney. He chose the worst time to have a bad season, right before he became a free agent. On top of that, the DE draft class is packed. It goes 12-13 players deep, who can be 1st day picks. Do you think he'll leave Indy, and will he get a good deal elsewhere?

Geo

The Colts have already said that they will franchise tag Freeney for 07 if an agreement can't be reached, although I actually think there's a good chance that both parties will come to terms on an extension (7.5-8 per on paper) this off-season.

Acctually Freeney played quiet well in the playoffs, including against the run.

He's NOT one-dimensional, as some make him out to be, it's just sometimes he makes himself one-dimensional. When he rushes upfield the OT uses his momentum against him and pushes him out of the play when it's a running play.

I believe he should use his bull-rush move more often, when he does that he is dangerous for anyone in the backfield.

Plus he was hurt part of the year if I remember correctly. He was also relying too much on his spin move which people caught on to. Once he started bull rushing and speed rushing again he started doing better. Since the Bengals game he was as dominant as he ever was. And it would be stupid for the team to let him go, and it would be a dumb decision on his part to leave because he is in a perfect situation.

Bears | Free Agent News
Thu, 8 Feb 2007 10:09

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun Times, reports that the Bears have officially placed the franchise tag on Lance Briggs. He will earn 7.2 million if he stays with the Bears, but teams can still make him offers, and if he signs somewhere else, that team would owe the Bears compensation. Also, the Bears have offered low tenders to both Todd Johnson (RFA) and Gabe Reid (RFA). If another team signs either of them, they would have to give up a 4th round pick as compensation for Todd Johnson as that is where he got drafted, but since Gabe Reid was not drafted by the Bears no compensation would be required. Rod Wilson was also signed to the minimum as he was a ERFA.

I wrote an article on this:

QB-Jeff Garcia-Philadelphia Eagles

No one in the NFL has seen their stock skyrocket as much as Jeff Garcia has after leading the Philadelphia Eagles into the NFC Divisional Championship game. But with Eagles QB Donovan McNabb coming back from an ACL tear, the 37-year old Garcia will be relegated to a backup role again. Garcia, due to age, isn't a franchise QB but he can be a very good transitional guy for a team with a young QB waiting in the wings. Garcia's mobility and accuracy is exclusive to the West Coast Offense so that dwindles it down. With Brad Johnson on his last legs, and while the raw Tavaris Jackson did get his feet wet, I'd assume the Vikings would rather have him wait another year. Vikings HC Brad Childress also runs the WCO, meaning my prediction for Garcia is to go to the Vikings.

QB-Matt Schaub-Atlanta Falcons

With the highly publicized struggles of Michael Vick, Matt Schaub is in an interesting situation. He'll only be 26 once the season starts and if Vick struggles; don't be shocked if new HC Bobby Petrino benches Vick in favor of Schaub. Schaub has the prototype size, strength and poise but his arm strength isn't the best out there. His performance has been exaggerated a bit, but I think he can turn into a solid QB in the future. But with the QB market dwindled to the draft, Schaub will probably stay with the Falcons.

RB-Ahman Green-Green Bay Packers

This is an interesting scenario for both sides in this case. Green, 30, is probably out of his prime but had a decent season last year that helped the Packers season. But at the other side of the stick, the Packers could use a youthful RB who can take the full load in the future (Marshawn Lynch). Green could go to a team that's struggling to find a feature back and join a platoon to extend his career. That team will probably be the original team, the Packers.

RB-Michael Turner-San Diego Chargers

Two seasons ago it was LaMont Jordan, last year it was Chester Taylor and this year's hot backup is Michael Turner of the Chargers. When you are behind a guy the quality of LaDanian Tomlinson, you aren't going to get many carries and this is Turner's chance to break out of LT's shadow. Turner can be a feature back in the NFL and teams that's struggling to find a RB are the Detroit Lions and the New York Jets. The Lions have Kevin Jones who is adequate but injury-prone and the Jets have a plethora of backs in Leon Washington, Kevan Barlow and Cedric Houston. I think the Lions need trumps the Jets need.

WR-Donte Stallworth-Philadelphia Eagles

A key ingredient to the success of the Philadelphia Eagles is WR Donte Stallworth. Stallworth, 26, has the skillset to be a #1 WR but has not been able to put that together due to injuries, poor QBs and work ethic; had a great season in his initial Philly season and I expect that to continue. The Eagles may not want to offer him a huge signing bonus, which can hurt the contract, but I can't see him leaving.

DE-Dwight Freeney-Indianapolis Colts

The "star" of the Super Bowl Champion Colts is DE Dwight Freeney. While Freeney had a down year with only 5.5 sacks in the regular season but that could be attributed to teams running all over Indy and an arch/shoulder injury early in the season. Freeney is not going to leave according to Bill Polian and I expect the franchise tag to be given to him. Freeney is one of the top pass-rushing DEs in the league and to lose him would put Indy in an interesting situation as Mathis is on the opposite end. He stays with the Colts.

DE-Jared Allen-Kansas City Chiefs

Jared Allen is perhaps one of the most underrated players in the NFL. He is a constant force in the backfield and had an outstanding 2006 campaign. While he is Restricted, I would definitely expect teams to offer him high-tender deals and then signing him long-term. KC would be ill-advised to drop Allen and I would be highly shocked if the Chiefs do not keep him. He stays with Kansas City.

LB-Lance Briggs-Chicago Bears

This year's top defensive FA is Lance Briggs of the NFC Champion Chicago Bears. Briggs is another one of the many great Bears Linebackers and he will most definitely be signed long-term instead of being franchised. While being on that stingy defense can make most players look great, Briggs has been a steady force for some time. A team could outbid the Bears but again, it would be ill-advised to let him go and look for a replacement. He may stay with Chicago.

LB-Adalius Thomas-Baltimore Ravens

In the past two seasons, Adalius Thomas has made some noise in the NFL as one of the better LB'ers in the league. Thomas is a ballhawk, versatile (has lined up at CB) and while 30, he still has a future ahead of him. My prediction is that the New England Patriots will take him with the possible retirement of Tedy Bruschi and the age of Junior Seau and Mike Vrabel making Thomas part of the Patriots franchise.

CB-Asante Samuel-New England Patriots

Before this season, Samuel was considered a growing player who can be so much better in the future. Well, 2006 definitely showcased his true talent while intercepting 10 passes in the league, tied with Champ Bailey. Samuel is a top-tier CB and I wouldn't be shocked to see him wind up in Dallas but I expect the Patriots to retain him long-term.

CB-Nate Clements-Buffalo Bills

After being franchised last season, I expect Nate Clements to pursue a long-term deal this offseason. Clements has been one of the better CBs in the NFL and I can't see the Bills keeping him given the payday that Clements is going to want. But who will be the team that steps up? I am going to go with the Dallas Cowboys as I feel that next to Terrance Newman, that the Cowboys will have one of the top CB units in the NFL.

Players Potentially on the Move
By: Greg Davis

With the season nearing the grand finale—the Super Bowl—many teams are sitting at home, considering personnel decisions for next season already. There is little time to rest and relax with the draft in April, contracts to be negotiated, and moves that need to be made as soon as possible. Who may be cut and who may be traded in when the market starts moving? Let’s speculate on the possibilities:

Offense:

Drew Bledsoe, Quarterback, Dallas Cowboys
Bledsoe lost his starting job to Tony Romo after just six games. At .500 under Bledsoe, the Cowboys were able to turn it around and make the playoffs with Romo at the helm. He may be worth keeping around for insurance, but Bledsoe doesn’t appear happy in his new role and may demand that he be traded or released so that he can pursue a starting job elsewhere. His trade value is low because of his age and recent play, but there are teams like Oakland or Minnesota that may look at Bledsoe—although it seems probable that he won’t be brought in as a starter anywhere.

Mark Brunell, Quarterback, Washington Redskins
Jason Campbell is the present and future of the Redskins franchise. In seven games this season, Campbell passed for ten touchdowns, while Brunell threw for only eight in his ten appearances. If Brunell can accept a bench spot as his new permanent home, the team may keep him around to support Cambell, but if the team doesn’t want to keep paying the more than five million dollars he is due next season, they could cut him. If Brunell agrees to re-structure his contract, it’s a good bet that he’ll stay in Washington.

Joey Harrington and Daunte Culpepper, Quarterbacks, Miami Dolphins
This quarterbacking pair is one of significant interest. A bettor might wager that a healthy Culpepper regains his role as the starter and Harrington returns to the bench to open the 2007 season. That wouldn’t be a terrible wager by any means, but it’s worth noting that Culpepper’s health is still going to be a question—although optimism is the pervasive attitude. Harrington wasn’t special during the eleven games he took part in, but he may have been better than Culpepper was in the first four Miami games. Harrington’s value is slight, and a late pick or a player of mediocre talent might be gained by the Dolphins in and exchange. It’s quite unlikely that Culpepper goes anywhere, and the team hasn’t given up on him yet—from all that is known—but he’s worth a mention simply because of the concerns surrounding his lack of production in his limited time this season.

Brad Johnson, Quarterback, Minnesota Vikings
Brooks Bollinger and Tarvaris Jackson were both given the opportunity to play in Johnson’s place because of the lack of production from the thirty-eight-year-old quarterback. Johnson could be looking for work elsewhere, since Jackson appears to be the quarterback that the Vikings want to prepare for the starting role. Johnson’s time in the NFL may be up, since his trade value is minimal at best, and there are few teams that would be interested in the former Super Bowl winner.

Byron Leftwich, Quarterback, Jacksonville Jaguars
The former first-round pick played in just six games this season, and for the second straight season, backup David Garrard had to finish a chunk of the season. Not only did Leftwich perform below hopes and expectations before Garrard took over, but he was also knocked out by injury. Leftwich’s name has been rumored alongside a few NFL teams, but nothing has been serious enough to warrant mention just yet. The quarterback may fetch a mid-round draft choice.

Kevan Barlow, Running Back, New York Jets
Barlow scored six times for the Jets this season, but his number of carries fluctuated throughout the season and he was inactive for five of six games to end the season, including a playoff loss to New England. Since rookie Leon Washington began to standout late in the season and is considered the running back of the future, Barlow’s time in New York may be close to an end after just one season. His contract is over three million dollars for the coming season, so that figure will probably have to be re-structured if Barlow is to remain a Jet.

Julius Jones, Running Back, Dallas Cowboys
Jones stayed healthy for the entire season, which is a plus, but the brother of the Bears’ Thomas Jones isn’t quite the runner that Dallas needs, it seems. Second-string back Marion Barber is continually being heralded as the better and tougher runner, and the team may look to Barber as the soon-to-be starter. Barber averaged more than half a yard more per carry and had ten more touchdowns because of his ability to pick up tough yards. If Barber is going to be given the main workload, Jones could be dealt away to a team willing to take a chance on a decent back. A third round pick may do the trick, and Jones is still relatively young at just twenty-five. A team like the Carolina Panthers might prefer Jones over their current running back DeShaun Foster, depending on DeAngelo Williams’ readiness.

Chris Perry, Running Back, Cincinnati Bengals
Perry doesn’t make a lot of money, and the Bengals would take a hit if they cut him, but a trade of the former first-rounder might be possible. Perry has played in just twenty-two games in his three seasons, but has shown flashes of being a solid player. The trouble is that the Bengals already have Rudi Johnson, and Johnson has locked down the number one spot by running for over 1,300 yards in each of the past three seasons. If Perry hangs around, he’ll continue to play second fiddle to Johnson, but if the team is confident in Johnson, they may decide to deal Perry away now, and get compensation for him while he’s still fairly young. Perry’s aspirations may play the biggest role in determining what the Bengals try to do.

Greg Jones, Running Back, Jacksonville Jaguars
With the third best rushing attack in the league, Greg Jones must have had a great season, right? Not exactly. Jones tore his ACL for the second time in his career—this time during a preseason game. With an attack of Fred Taylor and rookie Maurice Jones-Drew at running back, and Derrick Wimbush at fullback, the team was able to run wild for much of the season. Jones doesn’t seem to have a spot to come back to, unless the team truly believes he’s the best option at fullback. Injuries have cut the trade value of Jones immensely. Even Taylor might face some problems with sticking around, since Jones-Drew has proven that he is a legitimate NFL running back.

Randy Moss and Jerry Porter, Wide Receivers, Oakland Raiders
Few would be surprised if Moss were dealt this off-season. The cantankerous wide receiver had worst career season, and while the blame doesn’t lie solely on his shoulders, his admission of disinterest and lack of desire is. The receiver has hinted more than once that he wouldn’t mind leaving the Raiders behind for a new home. Porter is more likely to stick around, especially if he can get in the good graces of the new head coach—whoever that may eventually be. A team like Atlanta has been discussed when it comes to Moss, and his trade value sits below his actual talent value. For Porter, the Raiders would probably have to settle for a fourth-round draft pick at best, if they decide to move him and can find a taker.

Keary Colbert, Wide Receiver, Carolina Panthers
Colbert has dropped off the NFL map. When Keyshawn Johnson was brought in to help alleviate some of the pressure put on Steve Smith, many assumed that Colbert’s chances would be reduced, but no one figured that the drop-off would be so drastic. The former USC standout caught nearly fifty passes in his rookie season, and many felt the receiver had considerable potential, but his sophomore total for receptions was cut nearly in half, to twenty-five. This season, Colbert caught just five passes. If another team senses that potential still exists in Colbert, they could consider giving up a mid-round or late-round pick for him, and the Panthers might be fine with that. The Bills or Buccaneers could be an option when it comes to teams looking for receiving depth.

Ashlie Lelie, Wide Receiver, Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons brought in Lelie hoping to have found a deep-threat receiver for Michael Vick, but Lelie never stood-out from the rest of the receivers on the roster. He caught only twenty-eight passes for one score, and dropped some potentially big passes. The Falcons may look to shop Lelie for help at another position, or they could just hang on to him and hope he starts producing like a first-round pick should.

Mike Williams, Wide Receiver, Detroit Lions
Williams posted only eight catches and had a single touchdown in eight games this season. He apparently doesn’t work hard enough, and doesn’t seem to care enough to become the top receiver that some had pegged him as when he entered the draft—only to be denied the first time. The Lions have not been happy with Williams, and they may make an effort to move him now, while he’s young and other teams might still see some potential in the receiver. A mid-round choice, or another player who has worn out his welcome for another team could be the simple return.

Defense:

Boss Bailey, Linebacker, Detroit Lions
Bailey has a down season in Detroit, and while the team would benefit from keeping Bailey around to play alongside Ernie Sims, Bailey’s salary will jump for the 2008 season. His performance over the past two seasons has been average at best, so the team could deal him now, while he’s young and his contract is low enough to really entice teams. A high—non-first round—to mid-round pick, another relatively young offensive lineman, or a secondary player may all be of enough value to Detroit.

Danny Clark, Linebacker, New Orleans Saints
Clark made nearly two million dollars this season, didn’t see the field much, and didn’t produce much because of it. Hopes were somewhat high for Clark when he joined the Saints, but he wasn’t able to earn more playing time, and the team could look to save money by letting him go or trying to find a trade partner. Interest in trading for Clark won’t likely be high.

Dexter Coakley, Linebacker, St. Louis Rams
Coakley has failed to impress as a member of the Rams. He made more than four million dollars this season, and made just twenty-nine total tackles. It wouldn’t be a significant surprise to see the Rams simply release the veteran linebacker and move on, unless the team can somehow find a trade partner to take him off their hands.

Carlos Emmons, Linebacker, New York Giants
Injuries have slowed Emmons recently, and at thirty-three, his best days are likely behind him. If the Giants cut Emmons this off season, they will save two millions dollars against the cap this season, and even more in 2008. Linebacker LaVar Arrington may help make the club’s decision easier.

Steve Foley, Linebacker, San Diego Chargers
Foley’s situation is quite different from other potential cuts. Foley was shot by an off-duty police officer before playing a game this season and was ruled out for the season after the incident. The Chargers can still recoup his roster bonus and have already withheld his salary for the season. The team could decide to cut ties altogether, and release the troubled linebacker.

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Defensive End, Green Bay Packers
Gbaja-Biamila lost playing time this season to Cullen Jenkins and doesn’t appear to be in line to regain his role as the starter. His salary of five million dollars in 2007 makes his situation a difficult one for the Packers. The team could simply release KGB, and save cap room. The Packers are not crunched for cap space, though, so they could keep the defensive lineman around and see what happens.

Kris Jenkins, Defensive Tackle, Carolina Panthers
Among other potential cap casualties in Carolina, Jenkins may be the most recognizable name. Jenkins played in every Panthers game this season, but wasn’t quite as effective as hoped, even though he played well. If the tackle wants to stay with his current team, he may have to be willing to re-structure his contract. The Panthers will try to re-structure before simply releasing him, but the team will certainly be making some changes.

Marquand Manuel, Safety, Green Bay Packers
Manuel didn’t live up to expectations, and the Packers may simply release him to save cap space and be rid of the safety. Manuel is a weak link on the defense, and most don’t even consider his play worthy of a starting spot. Few would be surprised to see Manuel looking for a new team in 2007.

I bolded some guys of personal interest.

You know, maybe I'm in the minority here (especially with Saints fans) but I'm not all that sold on Danny Clark. Personally, I would rather have a new middle linebacker either from free agency or the Draft, but if that is not a possibility, I would prefer to have Mark Simoneau start over Clark.

There's a lot of talk about Adam Archuleta coming to Chicago after the Redskins cut him. It would make sense as he had his best years with Lovie Smith and would provide an opportunity to fight to rebuild his career after the one year disaster in the abyss of football management know as the Washington Redskins. He's always been overrated but he'd be a nice insurance policy should Mike Brown get hurt again.

He is aging, going on thirty-one next year. He had a injury riddled '06, culminating in his torn Pectoral muscle. Honestly, I think they will try and sign him if the price is right, i.e, not very expensive. If not, I think they will gladly get some new blood, elsewhere. Frankly he isn't that good anymore, he is marginal against the run, and he hasn't been the pass rusher he used to be years ago. If you ask the Falcons fans here, they will tell you they would rather have one of the rookies at Ten, like Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson, or Charles Johnson.

I am only going to put it if they reach FA and then re-sign with their old team. Technically they never were UFAs so I don't feel the need to put them as signed. All signings after the start of FA will be updated on first page (with the exception of players who recently had their contracts terminated i.e. LaVar Arrington, Luke Petitgout, since they are free to sign anytime.)
