critical game for the Jaguars at home against the Falcons...the schedule gets extremely tough after this game...it'd be like digging out a never ending hole if they go down 0-2...

Same situation for the Saints, it's not impossible to bounce back but if we lose to the Bucs and fall to 0-2 that would be a devastating blow for the team.

Not only is this important for the Packers to win this week because a win is a win, and we got a super tough win against the Eagles, but we got the Chargers in Green Bay in week 3. We need to win this game.

Bears are a 12 point favorite over the Chiefs. That seems a bit high to me. I think Larry Johnson alone will drag the game out, then again if we get up early and neutralize their running game it could get ugly.

I'll be conservative and predict a 20-10 win.

Does that mean that you think Eli will be ready or that Wright will start?

Eli is most likely playing and Chris Mortensen is going to look like a huge ass for reporting false information. I'll say 80% Eli plays. And if he misses this week he will definitely be back against the Skins. Either way Mort's report of a seperated shoulder and out a least a month is completely false.

As much as he doesn't look it. Eli is tough. Both him and Peyton especially. Eli gets creamed a hell of a lot. And I always worry he won't get up one of theses times, but he always pops right up. The guy hasn't missed a start all through pro, college, and high school.

Last year, the eight eventual division champions went 8-0 in the first week of the season, but that was a huge historical anomaly. 2006 is the only year since 1993 where every division champion had a win in their opening game. In fact, from 1993-2006, eventual division champions went 60-34 (.638) in Week 1, compared to 71-23 (.755) in Week 2, much closer to the eventual .725 average winning percentage of the average division champion since 1993. So keep your heads up, Saints fans!

Big game for the Bengals.... Big game.

I wouldn't overlook the Browns.

Their OLB's are going to reek havoc on your backup OT's..

And I think with a weeks experience their DBs could put up a struggle.

I think this will be a much better and closer game than most expect.

I'm still thinking that Cleveland loses, but it won't be a walk in the park as years past.

PalmerToCJ
09-12-2007, 05:26 PM
Their OLB's are going to reek havoc on your backup OT's..

The Ravens LB's/DE's didn't reek havoc on our backup OTs... Anyway, Levi and Willie could both be back to starting this week although I'd hope they'll let them sit one more week to get closer to 100%

And I think with a weeks experience their DBs could put up a struggle.

Who cares? Rudi runs all over the Browns.

Our defense is going to blow up their Oline and I don't even know who their QB will be this week (Anderson I assume). I know you probably think the Steelers are the class of the AFCN but if you all can blow them out (and big ben throw 4 TD's) I don't think we'll have any problem...

I picked the Colts to win. Until I saw that Freddie Keiaho wasn't going to play, now I think Tennessee will run wild. Keiaho was fantastic on Thursday and was the main reason I think the Colts stopped the Saints. The Cover-2 scheme works so much better when you have a stud WLB. Not to mention the Titans defense is a lot more sound than New Orleans is, especially when it comes to stopping the run.

Geo
09-14-2007, 07:15 PM
Truth be told, I don't worry too much about Tyjuan Hagler in run defense. Pass defense, maybe. Hagler is a tackling machine who has actually been with the team longer than Keiaho has.

MaxV

Hagler has ability, but I do hope Keiaho won't be out for too long.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Alex Barron plays at left tackle. That's the position he played in college and where he has wanted to play in the pros, and Linehan has said that coming into this season, Barron was handling his business better than he ever has in his young career. I don't know how well he played last weekend, maybe one of our resident Rams fans can chime in on that.

PS. I picked the 49ers as well. (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/forum/showthread.php?p=614856#post614856)

Eli is a warrior. Boo to the haters.

ESPN's Ed "The Weasel" Werder reports that the Colts may be without two of their starting linebackers, WLB Freddy Keiaho and SLB Rob Morris, for today's game at Tennessee.

Edit: They are. Both Keiaho and Morris have been declared inactive. We'll see Tyjuan Hagler at WLB and Rocky Boiman at SLB. Vince Young has the opportunity to take advantage of the pass.
