The commentators mentioned someone (West Virginia I think) who could squat 695 lbs. and had a 41" vertical leap. Anyone remember who it was? Not really important, it's just been bugging me that I can't remember.

Owen Schmitt probably squats around that much and I can't think of anyone else who might be able to lay claim to both those numbers.

That must be a mistake. I cannot imagine anyone being able to squat almost 700 lbs and have a 41" vertical.

Owen Schmitt is a tank in the weight room, and he's athletic, but no way he jumps that high.

I don't think it was Schmitt. They kept talking about his power clean all night, but this was someone else. I heard them say it and I wrote it down, but I didn't catch the name. The only reason it stood out to me is because anyone who could squat almost 700 is usually a pretty big guy and being able to jump that high is unheard of. Just curious.

I didn't actually catch the game, I was just running over the roster in my head and he was the only who stood out in my mind who might have the potential to do both. I freely admit the vertical is unlikely but I think it would be more likely to be him than an offensive lineman (nowhere close on the vertical) or another skill guy (nowhere close on the squat numbers). Maybe there's someone I'm forgetting or just don't know much about but those numbers are freakish. Are you sure it was on WVU's side? It seems like it would have to be an H-Back/tight end to put up both those numbers.

Edit: Nevermind, you found it. Anyway, 5-9, 200!? The kid's a phreak in every single sense of the word.

I read an article about this on rivals, it talked about how he does standing backflips and his head is a few feet above the ground

So do you guys think he gets drafted after or before where Chris Henry RB was taken. Since this guy looks to be like the guy who everyone freaks about after they see him bench.

Oops, I read it wrong, I was like wtf bench 700??? Squating 700 with that small stature is still pretty impressive.
