eh, enough players have been established as prospects to get a meaningful draft out of it.

Did you send your app?

Also, there will be votes on a 5 round or 7 round and a compilation of a list of junior entries.

1 question: why are the Falcons picking 13th? They're horrible. I was considering taking them since the Browns are gone but it'd be hard to get Woodson or Brohm with the 13th pick...

How will this be in terms of realism and trading, also it's always better to have trade commissioners to help you shoulder the work load, and ensure fairness for all by having multiple opinions.

Yea, last one I think Bush, McCalister and such were traded for manning and wayne or something.

It's a lot more fun with trades...I mean obviously keep the realism down, maybe come up with a list of untradable players, but it's more fun without a lot of restrictions.

I still don't know what team I want. If someone has a bad team (I like taking bad teams in these things) and wants a co-GM, I'm open for it I guess.

I honestly don't think we have prolific enough posters to get this thing deep into the draft. 3 Rounds at this point would be plenty for me. Not everyone signed up has knowledge of some of the lesser known prospects. I would rather have this go three rounds with a possibility of more depending on how it moved through the first three.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you. I know some of the people that have signed up but some I am unknown about. After doing numerous mocks in the past, I know who is a prolific poster and who is not. I know I am not as knowledgeable on some of the late round prospects as I should be.

Why use that when you have a NFL power ranking....I don't get it...trust a draft analysist on NFL rankings at this point in the season? Scott usually tries to match up teams and players not so much where a team will finish but moreso where a guy should fall and having a match.

any team that is picking far higher than they should would be. But still in the power rankings last week you were still number 14 overall. which puts you still in the top 20 picks. Granted this week you'll likely be in that early 20's range but if you make the playoffs it's expected.

While trading Roy isn't the most realistic thing the cowboys organization could do...it "could" happen. Wade has adjusted the scheme to fit Roy and yet Roy isn't making an impact on the game like he was his rookie year. He hasn't really progressed at all since coming into the league. He was asked to drop weight and did...but it still didn't help him learn to take better angles on the ball. While it isn't likely it is definately possible if he refuses to wrap up the ball carriers all year.

They're the best team in the NFC RIGHT NOW. I'd say there's almost no way they'd trade their pro bowl safety for picks to be used to pick up players for the future.

thule
09-25-2007, 02:28 PM
The Pats/Titans trade is reverse after a further explaination on the franchise rule. At the end of the season he would become a FA...so essentially he is just a player that NE resigned/on their roster. Which makes him tradable. The value was close...Titans got the better of the deal imo...but changing the 6th to a 5th really had no affect on the trade anyways.

Not so much players of the future...but players who better fit the scheme. Guys like Bobby Carpenter/Aaron Glenn are guys who could very well be out the door with the new regime. Granted Roy wasn't Tuna's hand picked product but he still formed him into the player he was somewhat. I think it's pretty safe everyone and their mom knows Dallas's is suceptable to the deep ball and it hasn't changed since Woodson has retired...something has to be changed...we've changed the CB's, we've changed the FS's how much longer can you go before you try the other peice?

I've defended Roy Williams on this board more than I haven't. However he has singlehandly let 4-5 runs go for over 20 yards this season...either from not wrapping up or for overpursuing the play. This isn't what I want from my probowl tackle. I love we he hits the hole and blows a play up in the backfield...but lately his miscues are outdoing his goods. Like I said earlier...he hasn't progressed since his rookie year...everything around him has been changed yet Dallas's defense is still in the bottom 7 in passing defense. I just think it was time for a change.

That was huge...

On a side note...lets not forget people that as much as we are trying to keep it realistic...we also are trading players who would be FA's and what not which is gonna take away from the realism. If you have a problem with a player on your team and can take some evidence from the past along with the coaching staff I don't see any reason why he couldn't be moved. Basically there are a few untradeables...aka Peyton LT ect...and also first year guys....we are going to see guys lik Calvin Johnson or John Beck getting traded anytime soon. So we are trying to keep it realistic but don't be afraid to make bold moves if it makes sense and can be backed up reasonably.

I mean are we doing realistic. Because no way in hell Ravens trade the heir to Ogden next season for a backup corner, not to mention he is only a rookie and they gave up a pick in this draft for him. Anyways #6 pick can be had looking to move down from 7-20 while picking up a good player, or great player if you are in the upper teens.

I said first year drafted players are unmoveable unless extreme circumstances...which I don't see anyways.. Really any player in the last 2-3 years is unmoveable unless someone can dig out some information that shows them possibily on the outs.

Hmm.. I don't know maybe a player that is about to get benched for a young CB that was drafted very high and has loads of potential.

Think about it bud. If it was a neatral user and he knew about Spear's this year it would've never been accepted and you know it.

I'm not sure if I understand you correct but I think your saying Rolle was drafted very high and has loads of potential. That being the case...it just hasn't translated in Arizona. For whatever reason Rolle just can't make plays on that side of the ball which is why he was demoted. Both guys need a change of scenery...I don't see how you could call that an unfair trade

Rolle isn't even used as a nickelback anymore in AZ we go with 3 safeties instead, plus the fact that i cut some 36 million dollars in the trade, i like my side of the deal

Anyone watch that attempted Roy Williams tackle against (I think it was) Desmond Clark? It was awesome. I mean, if you can't cover and don't really have ball skills... but you hit (hard)... please don't just bump into a TE and fall down (as he runs down the field).

I peed myself a little... but just a little.

I don't think they should be used...it's simply a "so far into the season..." thing. I think most people think the Saints and Rams won't pick that low and the Packers that high.

I think thule and fischbowl should just come up with their own order.

My order would be this...

01. Falcons
02. Bills
03. Dolphins
04. Chiefs
05. Browns
06. Rams
07. Vikings
08. Saints
09. Raiders
10. Titans
11. Cardinals
12. Lions
13. Jets
14. Giants
15. Jaguars
16. Bears
17. Bengals
18. Texans
19. 49ers
20. Panthers
21. Eagles
22. Redskins
23. Broncos
24. Buccaneers
25. Seahawks
26. Chargers
27. Ravens
28. Packers
29. Steelers
30. Colts
31. Cowboys
32. Patriots

If you know your going to be busy....aka Dchess with H3...just send a list to someone who will be online....this really isn't hard and takes about 5 mins...but can make your look good and also allow this thing to get moving.

They are a middle of the pack team...idk.

With Dallas picking 31st it dramatically changes the value of the picks traded from an early 2nd rounder to a mid 1st rounder

When I factored it in I thought of it as a late first and two mid 2nds would you like to go back on it?
