Both have been at different schools, who does a better overall job at recruiting, winning with less talent, and taking a team with talent to the NC

I voted for Spurrier for the simple fact that Nick Saban is a prick.

i put those things aside and evaluated just on overall knowledge and track record and no question spurrier wins out in this one

Saban would've done good in Miami if he stayed, whereas Spurrier sucked totally and was not an NFL coach. If you look at how good of a coach they were as pros Saban by a mile. In college it's a lot closer b/c the run and gun actually works in college sometimes. Spurrier has no talent here in SC, yet is probably gonna win 7 or 8 games this year, that's pretty impressive. But Saban is just a great coach anyways, won at MSU, LSU, and now is gonna win at Alabama, I voted him, don't know why, they're both about the same to me. Maybe that stupid Under Armour commercial that gets on my nerves is why I didn't vote for Steve.

Saban > Spurrier as a recruiter

Saban < Spurrier as a gameday coach (no one is better then Spurrier on gameday)

Saban = Spurrier when it comes to coaching philosophy

Saban > Spurrier in the NFL

and Spurrier wasn't?

Spurrier never left a NFL team he had a future with and left them with a really, really bad coach just for moneys.

I respect what Saban did for LSU's program..but I think he gets way too much credit as a head coach.

Hes a hell of a recruiter and he can coach up a defense..but every year at LSU he lost a game or two that he shouldn't have. Even when he won the national title he didn't have his team ready to play and they lost to a Florida team that was in shambles at the time. LSU teams would consistently come into games not prepared and trying to win on talent alone, and you just can't do that against good teams.

I think its Spurrier by quite a bit.
