I don't understand why the AP even has a poll anymore, it's completely pointless.

Anyway...nice to see Michigan State and Cincy both make the top 25. Both have been playing well early.

As for Miami...a case could be made...but you got SMACKED by Oklahoma. Granted the same thing happened to Virginia Tech and they're still up there (totally undeservedly IMO).

Whatever...the ACC sucks pretty bad so Miami has a chance at making a good bowl game.

Just for fun, here's the favored BCS matchups as of this week.

Orange Bowl- Boston College vs. Wisconsin
Fiesta Bowl- West Virginia vs. Oklahoma
Rose Bowl- Ohio State vs. California
Sugar Bowl- Florida vs. Texas
BCS Championship- USC vs. LSU

Those would be some good games.

BC-Wisconsin would be boring as hell. Texas would get destroyed. WVU-Oklahoma would be an epic shootout.

How does Nebraska have 62 more votes than Miami? They got destroyed by USC and almost lost to Ball State at home. They don't have overwhelming talent either. Miami's wins are way more convincing and also keep in mind that Freeman started the first few games and we're significantly better with Wright at the helm. We play Duke this week so we better be top 20 next week.

Rutgers beat: Duke, Navy, and Norfolk State. That is worthy to a top ten rank? Rutgers will get a rude awakening just like Penn State did. Penn State had an easy schedule then they played a half descent Michigan team and lost. Same thing is going to happen to Rutgers.

Rutgers schedules these games years in advance so while the schedule isn't great it will improve in the upcoming years. They are still a good team and when the Big East starts to play each other the SOS improves.

Like I just said these game are not scheduled the year before. Rutgers made a larger jump than they thought they would and have to deal with that for now. They are already expanding the stadium and some big teams are going to eventually come in and play. They signed on with ND for like 5 years and more will come.

o rly? when did that happen? i dont remember watching that game...

I see it this way for the remainder of the schedule for RU

Maryland: At first I thought this would be a huge trap game, but Maryland hasn't impressed me too much thus far. Should be a fairly easy(but no garuantees) W

Cincy: They've got talent, and are an on the rise team. They killed us last year, and you think Rice, Schiano, Teel&Co. have forgotten? no way. think the fans forgot? think again. the crowd will be rockin', and the players will be seeing revenge. This has W written all over it.

at 'cuse: Our D isn't Lousville's a W here.

USF: Ok, I'm scared of this game. Can our D contain Grothe? I'm not concerened with their running game, but damn this Grothe kid can be special. I see us winning, but not with the upmost confidence.

WVU: for the big east. no doubt. Winner, barring a loss to USF or slip up along the road, will be the Big east champ. I will give my thoughts on this(and prediction) after the USF game

at Army: W

Pitt: these kids have shown guts and resilience. young and not overally talented, but RU better not over look them. especially if undefeated at this point. W

at Lousiville: I called it earlier that they would struggle this year, and i was right eh? I'm still afraid of Urrita, Douglas and Brohm, but Ray Rice should have a field day. W

I mean...hyperbole is part of making predictions, but why even waste the 30 seconds to type if all you're going to say is:

Yeah...I bet the fact that the fans are mad about losing last year will really have a big impact on the game.

Of course teams like Rutgers seemingly never play any tough out of conference games. Why on earth would anyone in these media-hyped conferences want to play a good team from the big east?

Teams from conferences like the SEC have absolutely no reason to play any good out of conference games from the constantly under ranked Big East. They know the polls will easily allow them to launch up the rankings with purely conference play. The only big out of conference team to play a competitive big east team was Auburn this year.

The Big East teams don't have this luxury of a hyped conference. Remember when everyone was questioning whether or not Louisville or WVU would deserve to play for the national championship, because of their 'wimpy' conference?

There's no way in Hell Rutgers, or any Big East team really, will be going undefeated this season.

ASU hasn't played that impressively, that's why they shouldn't be ranked any higher then 20... I've been to 2 games now and their offensive line has issues and when the pac-10 schedule opens up to real opponents this team will get eaten alive by USC, Oregon, Cal and proably UCLA. You really think that Colorado, San Jose State, and SDSU were quality wins?

Considering that this is my first post in months all I have to say is how can Penn St. drop 11 spots after losing by 5, where one of their opponents drives was 5 yards?

If it wasn't for two costly fumbles by Captain Charisma Anthony Morelli and his sidekick Austin Scott, the game would have been much different + Michigan is still a quality team no matter what happened the first two weeks.

If the polls were done by using the "this team beat this team who beat this team" formula, then there would only be room for those who are undefeated. Michigan is still a very good team with a lot of talent. Apparently their kryptonite is the spread offense featuring a speedy QB. I'd imagine they'll look to avoid scheduling those types of teams on their non-conferene slate until they find a way to weld that crevasse of a chink in their armor. Doesn't mean they can't beat the majority of the teams in college football. Sure they were a bit overrated coming into the season, but I would have been surprised to see them drop that game to PSU at home. PSU is pretty good, but I think the Big10 as a whole is overrated and the top 4-5 teams will have slightly inflated records because of that. I'd have a hard time putting the 4th best team from the Big10 in the rankings at all, let alone up in the teens.

Penn State has a terrible SOS. Look who their first 3 games were against. They played a mediocre team in Michigan and lost. I personally think Penn State is going to have alot of trouble with Illinois this Saturday.
