Arizona Gets:
Marcus Spears, DE

Dallas Gets:
Antrel Rolle, CB

Reasoning:
The cowboys has been awfully disappointed with Marcus Spears. Although he is still the current starter in big D it doesn't mean the coaching staff is sold. In the 4th preseason game Marcus Spears was the only starter on the field in the 2nd half. He played into the 4th quarter. His lack of production is disturbing. The only reason he is starting is due to the injury concerns behind him. Antrel Rolle has been equally disappointing. Although being drafted higher than spears...rolle has been demoted to a nickel corner in which case he is still not getting it done.

So together two of these 2005 first round picks are getting a change of scenery. Rolle will look to get into the nickel defense and his physical nature should be a great fit for Wade Phillips and company.

Spears should allow that transition the the 3-4 a little more comfortable...spears can also still play on the 4 man line.

Patriots get: 2nd round pick and 6th round pick

Titans get: CB Asante Samuel

Samuel hasn't gotten what he wanted from NE, and the Titans need someone to replace Pacman. This one's pretty simple.

Dallas Gets:
Jags 15, 79, 175

Jacksonville Gets:
Roy Williams and 31

Approved

OK...before i get some heat for being the trade commishioner I would like to point out that I brought this up to quite a few people. One person denied it which was D-Unit. Xio, Bsara, moc182, ccb all approved it.

Both teams really wanted this deal so in the end it past.

Jags Reasoning:
Roy Williams is one the elite safeties in the league, and with Reggie Nelson, Reshean Mathis, and Brian Williams already in the secondary; it makes it one of the elite secondaries in the league. Along with a front four that is already solid and a young and improving linebacking corp this trade sets up the Jags with a good present and an optimistic future.

Boys Reasoning:
Wade Phillips is forced to mold the defense around him...granted he is a great player and can make things happen that other safeties couldn't dream about but he also isn't the Roy Williams of his rookie year across from Darren Woodson. He hasn't exactly progressed his years in the NFL.

Jets recieve: Texans 7th rounder
Texans Recieve: CB Manny Collins

reasoning: The Texans GM knows Collins better than anyone, and knows he'll be a stud. They also upgrade their weak CB group. The Jets recieve a 7th rounder for an undrafted FA.

Giants recieve: LB Shantee Orr and TE Mark Bruener
Texans recieve: Giants 4th rounder, RB Derrick Ward

The texans get some more insurance behind Ahman Green as they don't trust No Gain Dayne.

Denied

That is a terrible trade for the Giants. You get a nonamed LB that is on pace for 27 tackles this year and is already 26. You get a fossil for a TE. Plus you give up a 3rd year RB who is running great for your team and a pick. No way

Question... how many times will the draft order be altered? And, in this situation, what will happen with a previously-made deal?

Although the order might be "better" now, I think it needs to stay the way it was in the beginning.

There were only two first day trades that were affected by the change. Both trades still hold correct value and neither team has complained. No reason to go back.

Jags gets: CB Faggins, Texans 5th rounder
Texans get: SS Sammy Knight, RB Fred Taylor, CB Terry Cousin

Jags-I could afford to get rid of Fred Taylor due to MJD, same with Sammy Knight since I added Roy Williams, and I wanted to get a solid nickel corner to round out my secondary

Texans-i pick up a vet safety to my weak safety corp, and add some proven insurance to Green along with picking up a vet CB to tutor my insanely young CB's

Fair enough. We had a deal worked out that involved picks, but it's too late now.

That's the last draft order adjustment, right?

Jacksonville gets:
CB Fernando Bryant
SLB Boss Bailey

Detroit gets:
WLB Daryl Smith
RT Maurice Williams
4th round pick

Reasoning: Jacksonville adds the final piece to what may be the best secondary now in the NFL and they also round out a solid group of linebackers and make room for Justin Durant at WLB. Maurice Williams was a backup and Smith was in the way of Durant becoming a star

Oakland receives: LG Jamar Nesbit
New Orleans receives: WR Jerry Porter

New Orleans reasoning: The Saints wide receivers have been a big disappointment this year, especially the man who was supposed to take over the #2 in Devery Henderson. While on one side Marques Colton is a stud, the Saints lack a true #2. Terrance Copper performed admirably in that role last year but seems to be at most a #3. Lance Moore is emerging as a decent receiver but Jerry Porter would give the Saints another big, physical receiver like Colston as well as someone who can stretch the field as the #2.
Nesbit is expendable. I felt he was the weakest link on the Saints line last year and continue to think that. The Saints have a young, hungry left guard in Andy Alleman that was drafted last year that could step in and take his place or right guard Jahri Evans can move over to left guard with Alleman filling in at RG.

Titans get: Samkon Gado

Texans get: 7th round pick

While the Titans continue to attempt to trade RBs Chris Brown and Chris Henry, Gado provides them with a cheap, underrated backup who can allow them to shop Brown and Henry without worrying about losing depth.

Declined
Gado was just traded for...no way they deal him away.

Carolina receives: FS Keith Lewis
Niners receive: DE Stanley McClover

Carolina needs all the safety help they can get and Keith Lewis is an improvement over their starters now. McClover is stuck behind DE Mike Rucker and it still may be a few years before he can break into line-up. He is built more as a 3-4 DE/LB than a straight 4-3 DE.

Saints receive: Pick #19, DT Travis Johnson, & LB Morlon Greenwood
Texans receive: Pick #8, Saints 3rd and Saints 7th Rounder

New Orleans reasoning: In this trade the Saints land a former first round defensive tackle, which is a position the Saints need an immediate upgrade. They get their upgrade and then some. LB Morlon Greenwood has achieved over 100 tackles in the past three seasons and is a big upgrade over Saints starter Scott Shanle. The Saints will still be able to land an impact player at pick #19 and will also be able to draft high in the second round and possibly land another impact player.
This trade is an immediate and definite upgrade at both positions and will vastly help the Saints defense while also keeping them in the first round to help get a player that would also help them.

New Orleans receives: DB Jordan Babineaux
Seattle receives: FS Josh Bullocks

New Orleans reasoning: Josh Bullocks has spent the past couple of seasons as the starting FS for the Saints and has not lived up to his 2nd round potential. Jordan Babineaux will give the Saints the flexibility to play him either at safety or corner back, which is more than likely where he will be put where he will be an upgrade over Jason David.
With a change in scenery, Bullocks may be able to get his career going and live up to his potential and the Saints receive a player whose nickname is "Big Play", which is what the Saints need in their secondary and special teams.

Denver gets: #10 overall

Titans get: #23 overall, 2nd round pick.

Pretty simple, Titans wanted to trade down and Denver wanted to trade up, so they got together and did the generic deal. Not much more to this one.

Tampa Bay gives
4th and 7th round picks

Dallas gives
Julius Jones

Reasoning
Last year McGahee went for a 3rd and 7th round pick. Although he had some off the field concerns he was stellar on the field. JJ has been injury prone and underachieving. Although he is explosive it has yet to be seen consistently. This deal works from the cowboys side with the addition of Dmac.

Texans get: OG Damian Woody
Lions get:4th and 6th rounder of Texans

Texans reason: With 2 young OT's with tons of talent(Spencer and Winston), a vet center's, the Texans felt they needed to upgrade the interior of the line. Woody still has quite a few years left and is a great guard.

The Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins have agreed to a trade:

Lions give:
2nd Round Pick
6th Round Pick

Dolphins give:
Jason Taylor - DE

Lions' reasoning: Jason Taylor is an elite DE with at least 3 more years of productivity left. Bringing him to the roster does 3 things for the defense: gives them an elite pass-rushing force next to Redding, Rogers and White; allows Kalimba Edwards to slide into a situation role (a better role for him); and gives the Lions' young DEs an example to learn from.

The Lions' needed an elite pass-rusher, and one with this talent would not have been available with their 2nd round pick. When Taylor decides to end his career, Ikaika Alama-Francis will be ready to take over.
