Make your NFL team with all freakish athletes. No Vick.

Mine would be:

QB: Jamarcus Russell - Freakish arm, freakishly slow at getting signed
RB: Ronnie Brown - That big, that fast, it should be unfair....
(Honorable Mention: Travis "I have 9 Illegitimate Children" Henry, how freakish is that?)
FB:
WR1: Randy Moss - He still has it
WR2: Calvin Johnson - Randy 2.0
TE: Vernon Davis - Fast as a wr, strong as ol, open field vision like a kr, he's a TE, no he's a wr, no he's a weapon... no he is always injured, so who gives a damn.
RT: Joe Staley - fastest offensive tackle in the game
RG: Shawn Andrews - Jeez this guy in humongous
C: Jeremy Newberry - Can anyone think of any offensive lineman who have ever been more injured than this guy? And he is STILL starting!! FREAK
LG: Robert Gallery - It used to be Larry Allen bc he eats children, but athletically, Gallery takes the cake.
LT: Ogden - Mt of a man

LE: Julius Peppers - Better than the original freak (Kearse)
DT: Shaun Rodgers - HUGE and can do just about everything, when he feels like it
NT: Haloti Ngata - He's huge and he can move
RE: Mario Williams - Peppers V2 which really makes him Freak V2.5 (or something), Shawn Merriman would have been here, but I didn't want to put any asterisks.
LOLB: Julian Peterson - Manny Lawson might have the fastest 40 time on the field, but Julian Peterson has actually played 4 positions in one game (DE, LB, CB, and S)
MLB: Brian Urlacher - 250 lbs and can run like a gazelle
ROLB: Adalius Thomas - Because he has to be on this list
CB: Nate Clements - Size of a safety, covers like corner
CB2: Fabian Washington - Who says track stars can't play?
FS: Bob Sanders - Bc at any given time, he is one of the smallest players on the field, and he will knock the crap out of anyone.
SS: Sean Taylor - 36=BEAST

I dont think Brandon is 6'5 but, anyway...if we are talking freaks...Brandon Jacobs, Steven Jackson, Adrian Peterson, and Chris Henry should all garner consideration. If we're not basing this on production and more so on the measurables side.

WR should come down to...Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Roy Williams and T.O., imo. You can make an argument for some others.

I agree with Harris. He definitely is a freak and you can still see it on the field now with his burst and acceleration.

As for running back - I am a huge Ronnie Brown fan especially after the last 2 weeks but I think Steven Jackson should get the nod here. Brandon Jacobs is simply a straight up and down runner, he's got nothing on Brown or Jackson.

no love
10-06-2007, 01:34 AM
Yah... I tend to agree. I only chose Brown over Jackson because of his size/speed combo. Although from what I hear he has really slimed down. Jackson is definitely got the size, but I don't think he quite has that speed in the open field that Brown has.

The reason brown was picked so high was because he has the ability to pound and wear a defense out and the ability to rip a long one at any time. He was not as naturally gifted of a runner as say Adrian Peterson, but his measurables were off the charts...thus, the title freak. Besides... he is on those under armor commercials... he has to be a freak!

im sure u can do better at DT/DE

at DE..Jason Taylor, Kearse, Abraham, Suggs, would all be better choices(im sure theres more), Mario, Lawson (unless u count him as an OLB in 4-3 but i would take him over Hawk or Castillo in the freak category

at DT it could be close but Ngata, Wilfork, Henderson,

I disagree, I was disappointed I had to read that much just to see his name once. When you look at his size, combined his absolute dominance and physical tools, I think he fits the definition of freak just fine. That said, Roy Hall is more in the 'beast' category to me, slightly removed from 'freak,' but he's got some nice measureables.

Of course he isn't the most mobile QB ever, even though in his prime he wasn't too bad of a scrambler. He was no Steve Young, but he also wasn't a Dan Marino.

But 14 years without missing a game? That is superhuman durability.

Ed Reed has the speed of a widerout, vision a safety should have & moves like a running back/kick returner when he has the ball.

How bout FB Ahmard Hall. How many FB's run a 4.4 and are great blockers?

And there's Fat Al Haynseworth. 6-6, 320 (yeah right), and ran a 4.8 40. Massive, powerful, and very fast for his size (they say he's played most of his career around 350 lbs).

EDIT : Fat Al had a 40" vert too. He showed that jumping ability in a wild play at the end of the game today that helped the Titans beat the Falcons today. Dude jumped up over the o-line at the snap to get a hand on Leftwitch and cause him to fall and fumble. Definitely freakish.
