The object is to build the best team you can for the next five years. I'm looking for eight teams. Once we have all eight teams I will put up the starting draft time. Order will be determined by names drawn out of a cap. The time limit for each pick will be two hours. I'll give you a maximum of thirty minutes extra time if you tell me you need it. If you can't make certain picks send me your draft board and I'll make them for you. I ask that you choose real ballclubs as it will make it easier to keep track of who is drafting at what time then remembering who the "Atlantic City Corndogs" are and when they are picking. We will have an eight team playoff after the draft and the match ups will be determined at random. The following is what you will be drafting.

Five Starting Pitchers
Two Relievers
One Closer

The Eight Fielding Positions
One DH(Any player you want)

One Manager

I'll be the Seattle Mariners.

Sorry, I wanna get this draft started at most by tomorrow and you being away might mess with that. Draftboards work really well in later rounds but me picking for you for three straight days is going to be a huge pain in the butt. If I every do another draft you'll get a reserved spot. That okay? Steelers, you'll take his spot and I'll have the draft order up in a few minutes.

Time has expired on the Pirates' pick. I know it's two hours a pick and he has two but he would have made them in the same post so it doesn't really matter. It's stalling the draft. He can make the picks as soon as he gets on, whenever that is. Romosexual gave me the player he wanted to pick and I'll have it up in a minute.

When the clock hits midnight on the east coast the draft stops until noon tomorrow. People can still pick if they're online but there is no time limit. For instance, if Brownstown is up to pick he can go ahead and make his choice but I don't have to make one after him until noon tomorrow. The two hour time limit resumes tomorrow at noon for whomever is picking.

Also, where is Thule?

Thule, you do realise that you picked the biggest postseason choker around and a guy who will be 38 in 2013, right?

thule
10-07-2007, 03:10 AM
Since 1996 (his first full season) through 2006 he leads the major leagues in home runs (HR), runs scored, runs batted in (RBI), total bases and extra-base hits. Of all players in baseball history at age 30, he is first all-time in both HR and runs scored, 2nd in total bases and extra base hits, 3rd in RBI, and 4th in hits. In his career to that point, Rodriguez had more HR, more RBI, more runs scored, and more base hits than all-time leaders Hank Aaron (RBI), Barry Bonds (HR), Rickey Henderson (runs scored), and Pete Rose (hits) did prior to their 30th birthdays. He also shares the MLB record (and holds the AL record) for most home runs in the month of April, hitting 14 in 2007.

from wiki

He will still be putting up strong numbers when he is 38...not like you want a team with a bunch of young guys either...vets are needed for dominant teams. Alex is one of mine.

No that would be you picking Fausto "I've only had 1 good year" Carmona. Markakis had a .300 average 20+ Homers and over 100 RBI's in his 2nd season. He'll only get better in the next 5 years and thats crucial for this draft.

Edgar still produced despite getting older. Ortiz is only going to be 36 at the end of the 2013. He's coming of his best year, IMO, despite being injured for all of it. He's the the most clutch hitter in the game and playing DH will help cut down on wear and tear.

Alright here's how we stand on who's missed what pick.

Both the Twins and Yankees missed their 13th round picks. The O's, rather than contacting me, went ahead and made the Carlos Lee pick before the Royals could change the Jered Weaver pick. After the Royals had corrected the pick then the Twins would have entered their clock time. After they missed the O's could have taken Lee. After that the D-backs would have had their time. Had they missed their pick then the Yankees would their's. Then if they missed the Sox would have made Weeks pick. After the Pirates make their two picks the Sox enter their clock. The Yankees would then be on the clock. That's how it should have gone down.

You're all allowed to keep the players you drafted, however in order to prevent this from happening again make sure you check who has been taken and who hasn't. No more being oblivious of other's picks. If you do not correct the pick within one hour you will not be allowed to change it until you make your pick in the next round. It may sound strict but it's the only way to make sure we don't have this happen again. Secondly, make sure you keep in touch with me. I have authority on who is picking when and how much time they have.

Because the Yankees missed their previous pick in round thirteen they are OTC until 1:00 PM EST Monday. If they make their picks during the night then the D-Backs will be OTC until 2:00 PM. If the Yankees, D-Backs, and O's all make their picks during the night then the Twins will be OTC until 1:00 PM EST as well because of their missed pick. Remember, you're allowed to make up missed picks at any time.

Not nearly as much as he liked my Rafael Perez pick. Or his own Asdrubal Cabrera pick.

This is incredible. Everyone has missed their pick this round except for the Pirates and Sox. The Yankees just made up their's and the previous round they missed. I've yet to hear from BigDawg in the last five days. I'm not going to start the playoff until he makes his picks. I'm going to go post my last round pick since it is technically my turn. Everybody else is free to post their picks whenever they want. The playoffs start when the rosters are filled.
