Florida drops 5 spots after losing to an unranked Auburn, so 4 spots after losing to #1 LSU is not bad.

Oregon... No other team has proven enough to be in front of them.

I wanted to put another team at 25, but I couldn't find one except Texas.

At this point of the season, all undefeated teams have to be ranked in the top-20 (except UConn which will lose sooooooo quickly.)

USC was a bad loss, but I think it falls squarely on the shoulders of Booty and USC secondary. I see them rebounding, but out of the top 25 is something I can't do to them yet. And please don't make this the only thing people are mad about. =D

If Michigan drops out of the top 25 after losing to App. St., then USC should drop out after losing to Stanford.

USC should at the least drop to late teens or 20, Michigan flew out of the rankings, Stanford was nearly as bad and they beat USC at home...Dont see any reason that they would be anywhere near top 10

The difference is that Michigan hadn't beaten anyone before they lost to App State. Had they beaten Oregon they would have been right back in the top 25.

Why is UConn even being discussed? I'm from Connecticut, and I love that they are undefeated, but the only team they beat was Pittsburgh. That's nothing.

Duke, Maine, Temple, Pittsburgh and Akron.

Is there even a Top 75 team in that list?

Undefeated yes, impressive, no.

Because of the parity. They'll likely crack the top 25, and it's almost entirely because there are so few undefeated teams left. Crappy teams or not.

Come on don't be hating. It's more of a deserving thing. Are we a top 25 team, probably not. Do we deserve consideration, absolutely. I think they should hold off till after this next week, when we play UVA at Virginia. That way we don't get hopes up of being ranked, only to be dashed if we lose. But if we win then we would deserve it even more.

Yeah, Michigan is 4-2 and more than likely they'll be in that 27-28 kind of range when the new polls come out. USC is 4-1, them falling out of the top 10-15, much less 25 is ridiculous

I thought about putting Michigan in the top 25 but sheesh..they can't even assert their authority against Eastern Michigan. It's like they don't want to be good.

Apparently you can't lose to Appalachian State these days at home either without people throwing a hissy fit and tossing you right out of the top 25, where 5 weeks later when you're 4-2 you're still not in.

darnik44two

They are about performance, but also the voters base much of it on common sense of how talented a team is and to a degree on where they see them ending up. I wouldn't feel like #11 Missouri would have a great shot at beating USC, so it wouldn't be right to rank them below them. What if USC ends up at 12-1 (not sure how many games are on their schedule) should they be outside the top 10? Putting them even temporarily out of the top 10 knowing almost certain they will be back in would not give the polls any continuity. Sure they change every week, but it's a ranking system, not a way of unishing teams.

So they'll move down if they lose, you don't have them drop based on the fact that you believe they'll lose in the upcoming weeks.
