Seattle Seahawks fullback Mack Strong has a spinal cord condition that is ending his career immediately

This is terrible news. Mack Strong was a premier fullback in the NFL, and at 38, its a shame he didn't get a proper retirement.

Who tries to take his place? Do you guy still have Kirtman?

That sucks. He was a damn good FB.

That is really unfortunate. One of the best "true" fullbacks of the last decade.

That's terrible. I hope he recovers. I think Seattle's running production is reduced tremendously by his departure.

Very good Fullback.. Hopefully his Spinal Cord condition isn't too bad on his life outside of Football.

It says he'll be OK outside of football.

Farewell to one of the last great badass FBs.

It's always the saddest when it gets taken away before they have a chance to say bye to the game.

His replacement is Leonard Weaver. Not as good at blocking, but better with the ball in his hands.

Kirtman is on the PS, might be signed to be Leonards backup. Another option is to move Will Heller from TE to FB like they did last year.

Thats tough man, even though i'm a steelers fan and im glad we trounced the Seahawks, its still sad that he didnt finish his career on a higher note. I hear he wants to be a TV broadcaster so i wish him well with that. Goodluck to Mack, and good luck 'Hawks your gonna miss him big time in the run game.

With Alexander struggling so far this year, this can't be that good.

Mack Strong has been as responsible for Alexander's success as Walter Jones, and Steve Hutchinson (although not any more) have been. Hopefully there will continue to be true great blocking Fullbacks. They can do so much for an offense. This definitely caught me by surprise.

Sucks that it had to end this way.

If I'm not mistaken he is pretty well spoken, if this is so hopefully we will see him commentating soon.

Regardless, he was a great player who was one of the last of a dying breed of badass punch you in the teeth fullbacks.
