1) DE
2) OT
3) DT/CB/WR

First of all my dream is Chris Long but that's just a dream, he will most likely be gone by the time we pick.

Top choices for draft:
1) Malcolm Jenkins-Would give us a #1 CB opposite of Carlos Rogers.
2) Gosder Cherilus-Would be the eventual replacement after Jon Jansen and Todd Wade
3) Sedrick Ellis-Big guy to anchor our d-line, however I do love the young talent we have at DT.
4) Frank Okam-Same as Ellis
5) Kendal Langford-Huge guy, local guy from Hampton, would make the perfect opposite end from undersized Andre Carter, though he needs development.
6) Limas Sweed-Huge wideout threat a real redzone threat and would allow El to play the slot. Could be had later because of his injury.
7) Adarius Bowman-Same has Sweed.

Wanted: Having such a high pick I think we will have pretty much our choice of who we want. I'm hoping we end up with the #1 pick, and can trade down with Dallas for there pick and clevelands pick. So for who we want i would have to say.

LT - Jake Long (even if he is better suited for RT, Carey has been doing a fine job @ the LT), Sam Baker, Gosder Cherilus, or Phil Loadholt.

CB - Antoine Cason, Mike Jenkins or Malcom Jenkins

DT - Glen Dorsey (Tractor Traylor is aging, and Dorsey could be Very similar to Warren Sapp)

The phins have major needs all over the place. The D is aging, but has some pieces to build around in Crowder, Roth, and Travis Daniels. The offense has actually been fairly solid in the running game this year, and has some players. With Ronnie Brown, John Beck, Ted Ginn as solid skill players, and a solid core of OL with Carey, Hadnot, and Satele all under 26 we just need an anchor along the line. In a dream world the Dolphins would end up with the #1 pick.Trade down with Dallas for clevelands top 5 pick, and a late 20's pick, and acuire another second rounder. Then the Phins draft would hopefully look like this:

Round1 : Via Dallas via Cleveland (Top LT in the draft)
Round1: Via Dallas (Reggie Smith or Antoine Cason)
Round 2: DT - Red Bryant or BJ Raji
Round 2: Via Dallas ( BAP)

Your right about it being too early, but just for fun....if we were to pick those positions in that order I'd go

Draft Countdown Forums - Reply to Topicst round: Jack Ikegwuonu CB Wisconsin...I'm a homer what can I say...but if he doesn't leave early let's go with Zachary Bowman CB Nebraska

2nd round: Fred Davis TE USC...it'd be nice to have a playmaker out there, we'll keep Bubba for blocking and Donald Lee is pretty solid as a receiver to start for us until Davis is ready.

3rd round: Ali Highsmith OLB LSU or Robert Killebrew OLB Texas...both LB's that attack and have great names to boot!

If we avoid RB on the first day I'd assume we pick up a Michael Turner or Chris Brown up in free agency or Jackson/Morency/Wynn really pick it up from here on out...if that isn't the case then I'd like to strongly consider Rashard Mendenhall, Steve Slaton, or James Davis if any leave for the draft...I hate the Senior RB prospects this year...

Lions...

-DB:
The only legit player on our secondary, Kenoy Kennedy, is drastically out of his element in the Cover-2. Our other starts are either terrible, injured 3/4 of the time, or both. It's usually both.
-G:
Damien Woody hasn't been very good and I have no idea who is starting on the other side.
-SOLB/MLB:
Paris Lenon, Boss Bailey, and Teddy Lehman. Again, they're either bad, always
injured, or both.

Anyways, my wish list...
-Dan Connor
-Antoine Cason
-Shawn Crable (ok, maybe in the second round?)

I don't even know how Crable would fit at SOLB in the Cover 2 but I'm a Michigan homer so I have to mention him.

well, I think it's safe to say that, for the Bears, QB is definitely at the top of the list, with OL up there. a case could be made that Qb/OT/OG are at the top, although you could make a case for something else besides OL as the 3rd thing.

Titans

RB - A running team like the Titans could really use a special talent at HB. Unless Chris Henry is the real deal, this is a 1st round need. The vast majority of good HB's are 1st round picks for a reason, Titans need to face up and just get a good HB once and for all.
WR - Not a need in that anyone will do, specifically need some speed with deep threat ability.
DE - More of a potential need based on expiring contracts with LaBoy and Odom, plus they're not every down guys and have been known to get injured.

OG is a close 4th.

DE: Absolutely no pass rush. Quentin Groves and Calais "Junioritis" Campbell would be intriguing additions.

DT: Age (Sapp) and inconsistency (Terd, Warren, Kelly, Brayton) lead to this unit's struggles. A legit tackle (NT, UT, whatever) is a definite need. Glenn Dorsey and Sedrick Ellis would be outstanding.

SAM/Center/WR: We have basically nothing on the strong side. Philip Wheeler may not be a great fit for the strong side, but his speed and playmaking ability would mesh terrifically with Oakland's two rising stars Kirk Morrison and Thomas Howard.

When Newberry is healthy, our line clicks. When Grove is in, well, he isn't what we thought we were getting. A stud center, if such a thing exists in this class, would be great.

We're likely looking at a Curry, Higgins, BMW WR corps next year. That's just not good enough. Desean Jackson is a popular choice. But I think Kiffin would prefer a bigger WR, similar to what he had at USC. Adarius Bowman fits that mold.

LIONS needs:: CB, DE, S(?), MLB, RT, OG, TE(?), RB(?)

CB:: No.. Just......... No. We don't need one, we need two..

DE:: Kalimba Edwards just sucks. DeWayne White hasn't been bad, we need someone to play opposite him.

S:: Kenoy Kennedy needs to be cut. We've drafted Daniel Bullocks and Gerald Alexander in Round 2 of the past two drafts.. However, I could see us having Gerald Alexander transition to Cornerback.. He has the skills to be a pretty good Cover 2 CB for us.. If that happens, and say.. Kenny Phillips is available, we should jump on him.

MLB:: Paris Lenon. End of Story. Coaches seem to like him; I don't.

RT:: George Foster was supposed to just be serviceable, and he's less than that.. He sucks.. Jon Scott has shown flashes but if we have the chance for a RT in Round 2, we can't afford to pass it up.

OG:: Damien Woody has been a Free Agency Bust (one of many for the Lions).. It's about time we invest a Day 1 Pick in an OL.. We haven't since 2001. And it shows.

TE:: Dan Campbell has been good for us, but he's out for the year.. He's also 32. The Martz offense uses a blocking TE primarily; I could see us going for one in Round 4 if there's a solid prospect available there.

RB:: Kevin Jones is returning from a lisfranc injury.. Rumors are the Lions are up for trading Tatum Bell.. TJ Duckett is only on a 1 year deal.. Brian Calhoun (06' Round 3 Pick) has been placed on IR for the 2nd straight year.. I love Kevin Jones, but if he suffers another setback with his injury, we could be forced to take a replacement. Could be interesting to see how early the Lions could look for one.

My Top 3 Picks for the Lions::
1. Calais Campbell, DE
2. Kenny Phillips, S
3. Chris Long, DE

Steelers

1) OT- Marvel Smith is on the downside of his career, and Willie Colon would be better suited at guard (which he might play next year, after Faneca has gone). Our O-Line is playing solid this year, but it could still be improved.

2) 3-4 OLB- With Lawrence Timmons moving to ILB, Our ROLB spot is seriously short of depth. Even though James Harrison is a beast against the run, and gets some good pressure he's not an elite passrusher, and thats something thats vital to our sheme. With Lamarr Woodley being our future at LOLB, we could do with drafting someone this year for the strongside, so we have two gamechanging linebackers for years to come.

3) CB- Even with the knowledge Deshea Townsend has of our defence, he's not going to be a starter forever. So i'd look for Mike Tomlin to add another playmaker he can tutor at CB, who could eventually take over the starting role from Deshea. That would leave us with Ike Taylor, (draft pick), Bryant McFadden, Deshea Townsend and William ***. Which would be plenty enough depth at one position.

Seems i live about 4,000 miles away, i dont get to see much colledge football, so i dont really know which players would be suitable for the Steelers. If anyone can give me any info on prospects that might suitable, that would be really helpfull. Thanks.

RT - Long, he will be a right tackle at the next level. I dont think he is worth a top 3 pick but nobody there really fits our needs. If we take it in the 2nd round I would say we would slide in clady or Richardson into the Right Tackle spot.
NT - Raji is the best fit there but really I dont see a truly Destroying Nose Tackle in this draft. Hence taking a DE like Dorsey would be a nice fit there.
S - Best is Phillips, we need a SS and a FS so either works.

OG - Also a big need for the team.

Bengals
Defensive end: The #1 problem on the defense is the complete lack of a pass rush. Justin Smith is a free agent and hopefully won't resign. An elite pass rush prospect like Quentin Groves would be ideal.

Weakside linebacker: Every WILL linebacker on the roster is a free agent after this season, and they all suck so they won't resign. Keith Rivers would be a perfect fit.

Defensive tackle: Peko is a promising young player, but nobody else deserves mentioning. An athletic, pass rushing under tackle would do wonders for the defense. DeMarrio Pressley seems to be a good fit.

New York Football Giants

1) WLB
Someone who can cover exceptionally and moves well against the run, lance Briggs in fa, Keith Rivers in the draft
2) FS
We need to figure out how to cover the middle so we need a FS that can cover, reggie smith is the ideal pick but he might end up at cb depending on who else we draft
3) CB
Ross is looking like a great pick but we don't have anyone to play on the other side, Dockery's a good depth cb but lacks the measureables to start, Webster doesn't have the hips to play cb and should move to safety. Any of the corners in the second round who are primarily cover guys would be nice but I really like king if we trade back in the first.
4) DT
We need a big strong guy to anchor against the run and sub out on passing downs like Taylor.
5) SS
if we grab a SS they have to be able to cover a TE man on man thus letting the other safety play the deep zone. Hopefully gibril shows this ability this season but I doubt it
6) LT/LG
Diehl is a more than suitable option at both of these spots but is better at guard. Seubert should be upgraded upon, hopefully boothe can take his job and run with it but I'm not holding my breath I like baker, clady and loadholt a lot

I used more than 3 because ithink that in fa we'll get atleast stop gaps at each position of need and then go bpa at our needs.

Let's not forget that we are missing Derrick Burgess out there--the guy who has almost a sack a game while in Silver and Black. I might move DE down a bit and WR up because of that. We'll have to see how we do with Burgess back though. Grove has been a major disappointment for me too--mainly because I was so stoked to get him in 2004 and I thought he would anchor the line for years. Apparently not.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

1a. Bruschi's replacement
Nothing against Tedi, but his best years are far behind him and he may want to walk away in 1-2 years. And they definitly don't have anyone on the current roster capable of filling that void in the future, so at the very least, they could use some depth. We don't know what specific position the Pats will target since they've been known to move players around where they see fit, weather it be a former DE or OLB playing inside. Best fit I'd think would be James Laurinaitis or Dan Connor (smart, versatile), but they could also target a guy like Vince Hall, tackling machine.

1b. Samuel's replacement
Since Samuel will demand loads of cash, I think the Pats will let him walk (considering they don't have alot of cap room). Luckily this is a deep CB class with lots of talented Juniors to boot. Look for the Pats to take a guy in the 1st or 2nd if indeed Samuel doesn't come back.

The rest of the draft for the Pats will be a crapshoot. Nobody ever knows what Belicheck and Pioli are really thinking going into the draft. Two years ago they took 3 TE's. Last year everyone was sure they would address LB and CB. Neither "hole" was filled VIA the draft, and they aren't yet regretting it one bit.
They do not have any glaring needs, but will undoubtedly look for depth on the O Line and D Line in the late rounds. Also they could use a RB who can catch passes out of the backfield, ala Kevin Faulk. Maroney I'd think could take on that role, but he needs to prove he can stay healthy. Also, they could look to grab a blocking specialist at TE or FB. There are a few very good ones from what I've read. Depending on where they want to play Merriweather (he may not have the size they're looking for at Saefty), the Pats could look for a FS to give Eugene Wilson some competition.

As of right now we don't have a first....Phil likes to trade.

1- NT - Washington is aging. S. Smith doesn't play. Kelly looks decent, but I'd much rather have a stud 3-4 NT that the great defenses have. As for DE, R. Smith has been looking quite well. Hopefully something can happen in Free Agency or with one of the rookies we drafted in day two...Purcell from Hawaii I thought would make 40man rosters, but maybe next year.
2- RB - Jamal is getting up there and is a FA this coming offseason. I'd rather we resign him or preferably sign Turner rather than draft one...
3- WR - JJ is getting up there and after him is questionmarks. A speedy, stretch the field, known to drop things [Carter], and our ST ace that was a quarterback in college [Cribbs]. WTF is going on with Wilson. Obviously he isn't playing for a reason.

2) WR: We need some depth. Nate and Ced played out of their mind against Seattle but their inconsistent. None of our 3-5 WR's have shown enough to be able to step up, and Ward is breaking down.

Keenan Burton/Earl Bennett

3) DE/RT: Depth at DE in our system is nothing short of a laugh. It might take another season to develop Ryan McBean. Shaun Nua and Scott Paxson have yet to show any potential and Aaron Smith is getting old. Travis Kirschke and Nick Eason are very uninspiring backups.

Kendall Langford/Nick Hayden.

RT to push Colon inside makes a lot of sense here as well. Colon is huge dropoff in terms of run blocking from Max Starks, but his pass blocking, though better, is only a marginal improvement. We need a guy like a Jeff Otah, Barry Richardson, or Kirk Barton who could get some push in the run game and still be an effective RT.

Otah/Richardson.

Carolina Panthers:

1. LT - Wharton is not playing up to expectations. I'd rather put him back at RG where he was really good in 2004. We need someone to keep the D off our QBs and who can run the athletic zone scheme we're using.
2. Safety - A playmaker. Just someone who can make plays and not get burned. Is that too much to ask for?
3. DT - Someone to match with Jenkins who can stand stout versus the run and who can get after the QB.

As for who I want? It's too early in the college season to tell right now. Lets see how thing goes by the end of October/Novebmer as we approach bowl season. Off the top of my head:

1. Kenny Philips S Miami, Sam Baker OT USC, and Glenn Dorsey from LSU. On one hand I'd love to get these guys; on the other I don't want ot be picking that high.

I really do believe that we should go OT some time in this draft.Green and Sims are ok but an upgrade would be nicely appreciated.
I'm certainly not opposed to upgrading at tackle, but it's hardly a top need. Green had one really funky game, but has been pretty solid overall. Sims is still solid. Until we find out where McQuistan and Henderson fit in, if at all, I'd like to think that the more glaring holes across the DL, at center, WR, and SAM would be addressed well before trying to upgrade an already effective set of tackles and a couple of recently drafted players who have at least modest potential.

I don't even remember Burgess getting a sniff prior to injury. He's gotten a lot of sacks, but he's been invisible on far too many plays. And even aside from that, we have no one else.

You know me. I place an extremely high value on people who can kill QBs. The fact that we currently have no one like that makes me insane.

Packers:
1. RB
2. CB
3. TE/KR/PR

Projected Scenario(Assuming we get a bottom half pick)(only Seniors):
1. Mike Jenkins , USF - Big physical corner that could fill in when age starts to tear one of our studs down, Bush just gets embarresed and picked on every week, Blackmon hasn't shown he can be a starter.
2. Lavelle Hawkins , Cal- This years Anthony Gonzalez, runs great routes and is an outstanding kick returner. Immediatly will replace Tramon Williams, maybe even relieve Charles Woodson from PR.
3. John Greco, Toledo- Love to draft at least 1 smaller school OL prospects in 3-5 round. Greco hopefully can learn from Clifton and maybe replace him when he goes (every other prospect has failed and moved to OG).

No RB or TE drafted, need a workhorse back not another relieve back hopefully enough Juniors come out at RB so one of them will fall to GB (Jonathan Stewart , would be a dream). Hopefully TE's can hold on til the star studed 2010 TE class (Martellus Bennett, Travis Beckum, Cornelius Ingram, Chase Coffman, DajLeon Farr)

Sedrick Ellis..do the raiders realy need another Pass rusing DT.?
Another? He's be our only pass rushing tackle.

i think not..
Then you'd be wrong.

they cant stop the run..
True, but we also can't get a sniff of the QB. If we can find a partial cure for either of those ills in Rd1, then I'm good.

G.Warren is there best pass rusher..
All the more reason to take Ellis.

Sapp is done..
Kinda looks that way at this point.

Kelly is better fit at UT..so he can use his speed..

Kelly doesn't really have any speed. He's also got a knack for losing gap responsibility as a tackle. Fact is, he's a 3-4 end looking for a spot in a 4-3.

Any help anywhere on the D-line would be a welcome addition. Whether it's Dorsey, Ellis, Long, Calais, Grove...whoever. Any of those guys would represent an upgrade.
