Gross. I really cant stand it. I like peanuts, though.
It's just an easy tool to pack on pounds...that and whole milk, which I also hate, unless it's in some sugary cereal or there is some serious chocolate or strawberry syrup in there.
I've always been a big cereal eater. Nothing beats a late night bowl of cereal.

I usually go crunchy, like 90 percent of the time. Occasionally I just crave the creamy style, idk why. Then I have 1 serving and regret not getting crunchy.
I usually go natty PB when cutting but JIF extra crunchy is pretty much the ****.

See, I actually prefer the natural stuff. I don't care for sweet things in general, unless it's cereal. They are nice every once in a while, but, for example, I much prefer buttery/creamy desserts to sweet ones. I find candies like nerds appalling haha.

Don't add salt to your burger till you are ready to from the paddy and throw it right on the grill. You'll get a better formed patty. If you add salt early it breaks down the protein, and makes the insides not stick together. I stumbled upon it recently. Its looked legit in the picture, try it out.

Fried oreos are okay, but they get so soft and mush inside no crunch, I guess since they soak up all that oil. The batter doesn't do much to protect that from happening.

Really sweet and tasteful if I remember correctly. I think it was part of the anthony bourdain austin episode too. Gourmet food from a trailer, good stuff.

Another thing my buddy showed me.. take a bag of popcorn I guess just plain (I had light butter), and try things like shaking parmesean cheese in the bag or that packaged hidden valley ranch powder. Ridic!

If you didnt open your fridge while the power was out a lot of stuff should be alight. The cold should stay trapped for a while.
Just use common sense though, give stuff a smell and a good look over. Just remember the cardinal rule, "when in doubt, throw it out".

So my cousin invited me to this crazy restaurant for a pizza. Him and I ate two large pizza's by ourselves. It wasn't your regular pizza though.
There was Feta Cheese on the whole pizza, instead of the usual, and also light Parmesan cheese on top of everything. It had onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. It had 3 different types of meat, beef, chicken, and lamb (gyro meat). The sauce was regular, but it had shredded peppers over it, kinda like the taste of paprika, so it made it really hot.

I love Chipotle, though I've never had Freebirds or QDoba (never heard of QDoba). Most of my friends and I like Chipotle so much we stop there for food when we go to Philly instead of the Cheesesteak places. (We've got a place that makes better Cheeseteaks than any place in Philly, and I'd imagine Chipotle is marginally healthier at least). So in summation, yay for Chipotle!!!

I've been doing a lot of cooking lately. Nothing fancy but just putting some things together that sounds good. For instance: last night I made panko covered tilapia served with homemade tartar sauce and homemade cheesy scalloped potatoes. The other day I made homemade loaded mashed potatoes complete with cheddar cheese, finely chopped bacon (homemade bacon bits, if you will), sour cream, butter, salt, and pepper.
Today for lunch I again made panko covered tilapia but made some homemade wasabi tartar sauce. That **** turned out amazing.

also, I shall embrace your oven steak suggestions. it was soooooooooo ******* easy to do.
for the strips and ribeyes, i have a big, thick cast iron pan, so i'll sear them and get a good crust (just salt and pepper) on the stove top (though you have to get the pan screaming hot), then throw it in the oven at like, 400+ to bake through. i don't usually broil because i find the sear on the pan bottom works better.

Tonight I'm having red meat for the first time in almost 3 weeks. Started the P90X, so I've been going the fish/chicken route for my protein. However, saw a nearly 2 lb angus ribeye steak at the market on sale and had to "rescue" it. Going to cook it Ruth's Chris style:
Putting a cast iron pan in the oven and heat to 500 degrees.
Coat the steak in canola oil and plenty of salt and pepper (using himalayan pink salt, which is money).
When the pan and oven are preheated, take the pan out and put it under a burner on high.
Put the steak down at 60 seconds on a side for the sear.
Move the pan to the oven and cook 2:45 per side with the oven still at 500 degrees.
Move the steak to a plate and cover with foil, rest for 2 mins.
Serving it with sauteed spinach and mashed sweet potatoes made with orange juice and orange zest (no butter).
Gonna be AWESOME!!!

Five guys is pretty good, their generousity with fries is awesome. Also love eating the free peanuts while you wait for your burgers. Being starved also does help a ton. I ate five guys after running a half marathon once, tasted good as hell but considering I only had a glass of OJ and a granola bar prior to the run the grease reallly started to kick in after I ate it. Down in D.C. five guys is definitely a top 5 or 6 burger.

Five Guys is amazing. I wish I didn't just make an oath to stop eating unhealthy food... Not that I could get to one now anyway what with being snowed in and all...
I also love Chipotle. We call those burritos "babies" (because they're about the size of one). I have no idea why you'd want double rice. The rice is just filler... The only reason you'd get an extra tort is if you just want a double-baby.

It is an intense workout/diet regimen. 90 day home workout routine. First month is fat shred, so it's high protein, low low carb, extremely low fat. Second month, you eat more carbs, but still some protein. Third month, it's all energy and "good" carbs. I don't think there's much use of butter. They tend to push the olive oil and such ahead of butter.

While I can appreciate the use of butter, I tend to have some dairy issues. Rather than tempt fate, I'll stick with the existing implementation.
which is funny because butter is generally not all that bad. unless you use it in paula dean quantities. *shrug* whatever works, though, can't argue with success.
also, five guys is mediocre, at best. i've never understood the love.
With Five Guys, you just can't get a decent cheap burger in a lot of places. Like in Kansas City, pretty much the only restaurants are corporate chains. Five Guys has the cheap, local place feel.

I brought fresh strawberries as a snack today. They are damn good. I also love blueberries.
I get Five Guys maybe once a year even though there's one right by campus. Whenever that day comes, my friends and I are usually drunk and it is the bees' knees. That right, multiple bees.
I've got a giant bag of dried fruit and nut trail mix next to my desk that I made and it had might as well be candy because it's out of this world.
Had some trail mix given to me that had chocolate and white chocolate chips in it and white chocolate-covered raisins. It was amazing.

*shrug* nothing wrong with good olive oil or safflower oil.

but five guys isn't even cheap, it's like $10 for a burger and fries!

this. it's not worth it. many many better burger places out there.
unless he was talking about the way the burger just comes wrapped in foil paper and the fries are all over the bag giving it the "cheap" feel.

Yeah, I'm coating the steaks in canola before I cook them. Prevents sticking, increases the cook temperature, and doesn't overwhelm with flavor. Plus, olive oil burns at around that temperature. Looking to get the finish without burning.

While I do enjoy the mixes with the chocolate chunks, this batch is strcitly fruit and nuts. Mostly tropical fruits too (e.g., papaya, kiwi, pineapple, banana chips) with some apricots, strawberries, cherries and other goodies tossed in. Chronic.

That sounds like a great snack. In moderation, it is very healthy, but destroying a 3 lb bag is about as healthy as eating fast food. haha. I should make some trail mix for myself...

Five Guys is not cheap. 10 bucks for a burger and fries just doesn't cut it when I can go to McDonald's and feed myself for days in the same amount. It probably isn't worth the price you pay for it contrary to the perception, but it's still good stuff if you don't mind overpaying every once in awhile(IE: Starving in a snow storm and across the street). You do get better, more quality tasting ingredients for what you pay for and the peanuts are a plus.

I refuse to cook on a foreman griller and so should any card carrying man. BBQ grill or bust.
im a big griller, but a foreman gets the job done quick and a grilled cheese never tasted so good.
Grilled cheese is different. I'm talking burgers and steaks.

I disagree with that. George Foreman Cheeseburgers on wheat bread toasted with the George Foreman helped me gain 15 pounds of muscle last year in delicious fashion.

if you are doing low carb, I would suggest unsalted peanuts as a moderated snack food. unless of course you dont like peanuts.

Can't really compare a Mcdonalds burger to a five guys burger, btw if anyone's ever in the D.C. area have to stop by Ray's Hell Burger in Arlington, best burgers I've ever had. Problem is though that on almost any day you have to get there right when they open at 11 or you will have to wait in a massive line. During the normal lunch rush they close the door every 10 minutes to avoid violating fire codes and open the doors after enough people leave. They have about 10 tables and people are hounding you down to finish and go. If you are claustrophobic not the place to be. Worst of all is Obama will drop in every once in a while especially when there is a foreign dignitary visiting D.C. Then it is hopeless waiting.
