where will quintin demps and joe fields fall? they seem to be ballhawkers with pretty good measurables, but neither is ranked very high.

Demps is probably a mid to late 3rd rounder. He's been productive but he doesn't have elite skills, probably won't time all that well, and is coming from a non-BCS school.

Personally I like the kid, and would like it if the Bears took him in the 3rd, but unless he times well I don't think he's worthy of higher than the 3rd.

With so many teams needing a safety and a very slim class, we will see a lot of mediocre safeties chosen in the second just due to need.

i dont think 4.55 is all that bad. he'll probably run better than that anyways.

For a free safety, it is awful. You would prefer 4.5<

awful? antoine cason is gonna run the same thing but is slated for the 1st round. dwight lowery is rated as a 2nd rounder and is around the same speed.

I can bet you money that if Cason runs a 4.55, he won't be a first rounder. Daymeion Hughes was the PAC-10 defensive player of the year, but a bad 40 time made him a 3rd rounder.

everyone's expecting him to run around 4.55, and every site is still projecting him as a 1st rounder.

in any case, ill agree 4.55 is slightly below average for a free safety, but i dont think its anywhere near "awful." almost everyone in this year's class is predicted to run 4.55-4.6 according to the site's rankings.

What every site is this? There are about 2-3 sites that I respect even a little bit, and none of them have Demps rated much higher than that. Any yahoo can start up a draftsite and call themselves an expert.

Me thinks you have a serious bias. Why would you start a thread with a question and then disagree with the people answering it?

i meant cason as a 1st rounder, not demps

4.55 is not bad for a FS at all. It's not amazing, but it isn't bad.
