I thought he was put on IR?

Is this another reason as to why they could trade Michael Bennett without much of a worry?

PUP. I really hope he's able to come back and play Sunday.

I think that and they want to get a look at Kolby Smith as well

I didn't think he'd make it back, but I wish him well.

I'm iffy on this I'm a huge Priest fan but I don't want to see him get hurt to were he can't live a normal live.

Ironically I am more worried about Kolby Smith than Priest Holmes this Sunday, although I imagine an iconic player like that returning will give the team a major morale boost. I think this is Oakland best chance at winning a divisional game this year so we will see what happens...

I'd say Oakland's home outing against the Broncos will be their best shot by a large margin, but getting back to the point at hand...

I doubted Holmes could come back and be effective. I still doubt that. But all along I've maintained that I'd like to be wrong. We will see over the course of the next few weeks how he does. He's practicing this week, but he's not guaranteed to play. The week following, KC has a bye. If we don't see him the week after that, he probably is done once and for all.

Chiefs RB Holmes participates in full practice (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=txchiefsholmes&prov=st&type=lgns)

"It went very well," the three-time Pro Bowl running back said. "One of the things that I can take from practice is that I still have a lot in me. That was one of the surprising things, not so much for the team to see, but also for myself to see how well I perform getting back to practice."

"I'm ready now. But it's really not up to me so it's a matter of when they give me the green light," Holmes said. "They've given me the green light to practice, so this is basically test two. I get a chance to see where I'm at and go against a defense and I had a couple reps on the scout team. That was a lot of fun."

"The most exciting thing will be my first touchdown. That's what I'm excited about," Holmes said. "Not so much the first run, because I think that the first run could come on a play where there is a nine-man blitz and they get me for a loss of two. That possibly could happen, or it could be a 50-yard run.

"Any of those things can happen, but what is going to be exciting is my first touchdown."

I'm actively rooting for him to play again, I'd love to see him not have his career ended by HGH Merriman. Likely as the Chiefs' 3rd down back, Holmes was always a very good receiving back.

I know about that, I just thought that earlier, news broke that he was going to be put on IR... Maybe not.

I sure hope that he is 100% healthy and isn't risking serious long term damage; i doubt theres anyway to tell if he is financially in trouble, but i sure hope hes coming back just for the love of the game.

on a little side note, i absolutely fell in love with this guy when espn 2k5 came out and he was virtually unstoppable.

for his first game in 2 years he looked pretty good

Priest only had 4 carries, but one of them went for an important first down. He didn't have a huge impact, but it was good to see him back on the field.

biggest thing I wanted to see was him take a hit and get up.I saw that

He looked pretty quick and fast out there...can't wait to see him for the rest of the season to see what he can do.

He was used as a decoy on most plays I look for him to play more in our next game we have a bye this week so more time for him to get ready.

I am definately hoping to see priest revert to the priest of yore. I thought he was one hell of a player and like him as he has that "screw you I can do anything I want to do" mentality.

bored of education
10-22-2007, 09:27 AM
Yeah that mentality is awesome. Did anyone by chance read that article on Priest about a month ago on EPSN.com?

I don't think i've ever read an article that made me like a player more than that article.
