Bad week for me last week... Hopefully I can make up some ground here.. I like most of my picks right now, there's a few I'm questionable on; mostly the Chicago/Philly game.. I don't have much for comments because I'm still depressed over last week.

Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Redskins - The Redskins face a Cardinals team that was just dismantled by Vinny Testaverde. I think that bodes well for Jason Campbell's chances. Their defense has been excellent and should be able to contain the Cardinals' offense.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints - I think Atlanta can win this game. Maybe I'm just delusional, but the team does have: 1. fast linebackers to neutralize Reggie Bush, 2. a good D-Line to pressure Brees, 3. they've only scored this season against lousy defenses of which New Orleans is one.

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills - The Ravens will be without Todd Heap, Chris McAllister, and will be forced to start Kyle Boller. The Bills avenge their loss to Dallas and beat the worst 4-2 team I've ever seen.

Minnesota Vikings @ Dallas Cowboys - Not even Adrian Peterson, aka "Purple Jesus" can singlehandedly beat the Dallas Cowboys. Anything below 150-yards will be a loss for the one man Vikings team.

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins - I don't need to waste my time on this game. Miami theoretically could win, but the odds are very slim.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants - Trent Dilfer looks like a man who only wants to be in the NFL because he's getting paid to sit on a bench. Who can blame him? After all I'm sure getting terrorized by an aggressive defense. The Giants are red hot and I see no reason that won't continue against a banged up Giants team.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions - Jeff Garcia is being very efficient and has yet to throw an interception. If he can continue to do so the Bucs can capitalize on Lions' mistakes that are bound to happen with the way they play.

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans - The Titans aren't a great football team anyway; however, with Kerry Collins they are terrible. Vince Young hasn't played well this season and still he's better than Collins. The Texans win this game in spite of missing Andre Johnson yet again.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders - The Chiefs may finally be getting on a roll. The Raiders aren't much better than last year's team and they will continue to fail. Although I like the direction in which they are going.

New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals - Neither team is doing anything productive as of this moment. I think the Bengals are the better football team. I remember I got a lot of grief from Jets' fans when I said that last year's playoff berth was lacking substance and they would regress to their talent level. Now I am looking rather good on that count.

Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles - Both teams are on a slippery slope to the pits of the NFL. I have to go with Philadelphia here, because the Bears have not shown any semblance of a defense lately.

St. Louis Rams @ Seattle Seahawks - The Rams are terrible and right now their few good players are all nicked up. The Seahawks haven't impressed anybody recently, but I will still pick them over the hapless Rams.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos - The Broncos just don't match up very well with the Steelers. Worst of all Javon Walker is out and can't seem to get healthy. The Broncos' best weapon (Champ Bailey) has been neutralized by their inability to stop the run; thus no one is forced to throw on him.

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars UPSET SPECIAL - The Jaguars have consistently played the Colts well. They've split with them in three of the past four seasons. That's because they match up extremely well with them; those defensive tackles can get pressure on Manning and stop the run without having to add a safety in the box, the corners can jam the Colts' receivers. On offense Garrard has been very efficient and if he can continue to do so with that powerful O-Line and rushing attack they should find success.

Last Week: 7-6
Overall: 60-29

Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Redskins - Kurt Warner is practicing and is probable for this game, however I question his effectiveness and if the elbow will hinder him. Either way I think the Redskins Defense has the tools to slow down this Offense, Sean Taylor and the rest of the secondary have been playing outstanding, and the I look for Campbell, Portis. and co. to get back on track at Home.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints - Still really nervous about this game, I think maybe this Saints team may have found themselves during that win in Seattle. But they could still very easily revert back to their form from the first 4 games.

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills - Chris McAlister will be out, but I'll still go with the Ravens Defense to frustrate a struggling Bills Offense. Trent Edwards will start, while I like the Rookie there are some things that Rex Ryan will throw at him that he's likely never seen before at the Line of scrimmage.

Minnesota Vikings @ Dallas Cowboys - The Cowboys are too good of a team this year at least IMO to have a let down at home after a disappointing loss. AD has the potential to bust a few big runs, but I think Dallas' D' will hold up decently, and Romo will exploit the Vikings pass D' finding Witten, T.O and Crayton.

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins - New England has had some troubles with the Dolphins in the past, but I don't see any troubles for them this Sunday. This is a declining Defense, and a sputtering Offense. Not to mention Tom Brady is on a historic pace.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants - I still think the Niners Offense will continue to struggle under Dilfer, and the Giants have significantly improved over the course of the season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions - the Bucs running game worries me, but I trust Garcia's consistency and efficiency, he hasn't thrown an Int all year and him and Galloway should have some opportunities against the Lions Defense.

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans - Vince Young has been limited in practice, I think he'll try to do everything he can to play against his Home town team. In the end I think Houston bounces back from a rough game, I think Schaub will find his targets, and I think their D can do just enough to limit a struggling Titans Offense.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders *Upset Special - I think the Chiefs will continue to pound Larry Johnson, I know they want to preserve him by limiting his carries but he's your work horse, and best player you have to use him to your best advantage. I like Jared Allen, and the rest of the Chiefs Defense to disrupt the Raiders Offense.

New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals - I don't trust either of these teams, and they have really underachieved this season. I expected both to at least contend for playoff spot. Still really shaky about making this pick but my hope is that this is the Week Carson, Chad.. and co. can get back on track, at Home with their backs against the wall.

Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles - Both teams need this Win badly to get back in the thick of the hunt in their Divisions, the Eagles are getting healthier. Westbrook, William Thomas have returned, while Lito Sheppard is expected to be back finally. I think Jim Johnson frustrates Griese into making a few mistakes and Westbrook and McNabb do enough to get Philly back to .500.

St. Louis Rams @ Seattle Seahawks - Looks like Marc Bulger will be back and will start. Can he be fully effective though? He'll be cautious about taking a shot to the ribs again. Although Seattle is banged up, I don't think they'll drop 2 in a row at Home. DJ Hackett, and Marcus Pollard should be back so maybe that will give Hasselbeck some more comfort in the passing game.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos - I'll take the #2 Rushing Offense against the #32nd ranked rushing Defense. The Broncos are struggling big time on Defense, and Cutler's options in the passing game have been limited by Javon Walker being out. While Pittsburgh seems to be a very good team, that's not generating a lot of hype lately.

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars - This one was tough to decide as Jacksonville has looked very good the past few weeks, but the one thing that concerns me is how much Passing yardage they gave up vs. Schaub/Rosenfels. (yes some of it was in garbage time) but Peyton Manning will exploit even the smallest of weaknesses in your Pass Defense. I hope the Jags will be able to get the ground game going with Jones-Drew/Taylor so they can keep Peyton and co. off the field as long as possible.. but Indy is also better Defending the run this season. (ranked 13th overall)

Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Redskins
Kurt Warner and Adrian Wilson are both game-time decisions, it's crippling for the Cardinals if they miss either. Assuming they both play, I nonethless like the Redskins at home where they play well (and the Cardinals don't play as well on the road). Their defense plays tough and will key on Edgerrin James, and Clinton Portis on the ground and Chris Cooley in the air lead the offense to victory. Redskins 30, Cardinals 17.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints
I don't see the insertion of Byron Leftwich as the starting quarterback as a great positive for this game, and likely not having Alge Crumpler is even worse. Drew Brees and the Saints attack the Falcons secondary as the team makes it two consecutive wins in as many weeks. Don't sleep on the Saints, they aren't dead yet and the words "Wild Card" are in their future. Saints 31, Falcons 21.

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills
No Steve McNair, no Jonathan Ogden, no Todd Heap, no Chris McAllister, and maybe even no Ray Lewis. The Ravens are coming into this game all wrong, all wrong. Their starting backfield is Kyle Boller and Willis McGahee. The Bills play well at home, and fresh off their bye, they will make enough plays in all three phases to defeat the Baltimore Ravens. Bills 24, Ravens 19.

Minnesota Vikings @ Dallas Cowboys
AD is coming to Dallas to play the Cowboys, great story. Too bad AD won't be able to carry the team on his back to victory this week like he did last week against the Bears. Jason Witten has another big game, a quick and athletic tight end is the perfect weapon against a Tampa 2/Cover 2 defense. Especially when the defense in question still has some work to do in the pass defense. Cowboys 34, Vikings 13.

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
I don't know why people are bringing up the Pats' struggles in Miami in recent years, this Miami Dolphins team isn't anything like those Dolphins teams. The defense especially has fallen off so much, after being such a strength for so many years and being able to give Tom Brady some fits in the past. Nick Saban's Dolphins beat the Patriots in Miami 21-0 last year, and I think the Pats keep that in mind as they spank what could be the worst team in the league unfortunately. Patriots 31, Dolphins 0.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants
The interior of the San Francisco 49ers offensive line has been downright miserable thus far, and now they play the Giants with their much-improved defense under Steve Spagnuola, on the road. Hence, I'll easily take the Giants in this contest. Giants 24, 49ers 9.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions
The Bucs' front four puts pressure on Jon Kitna, the physical defense forces turnovers, and Jeff Garcia slices up the Lions defense. Bucs 34, Lions 17.

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans
Not sure if Vince Young will play this game, but regardless I think I'll take the Titans by just a bit. The injuries the Texans have suffered, especially on offense, has robbed them of the synergy they were developing to the tune of wins. Titans 20, Texans 17.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders UPSET SPECIAL
I like the Chiefs offense more than the Raiders defense, the Chiefs defense more than the Raiders offense, and we'll call special teams a push. Rod Woodson had it right this past week, calling out the Raiders for not having a strong safety. That's not their only problem though, their passing game is struggling to say the least. I'm very surprised the Chiefs are a 3-point dog. Chiefs 24, Oakland 13.

New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals
This could be the highest scoring affair on the weekend, given the offenses and defenses involved. I have to believe the Bengals win this game at home, they have to. It helps that the Jets just aren't a very good team defensively. Why is Mangini stubbornly sticking with the 3-4 when he doesn't have the personnel? It puzzles me as to why he's not getting called on it at all. Bengals 31, Jets 27.

Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles
I'll pick the Eagles in this game, solely because of Brian Westbrook and the superb job Jim Johnson is doing with the Eagles defense. A defense which should be welcoming back Lito Sheppard this week, making it even better. Eagles 17, Bears 13. (Devin Hester 7.)

St. Louis Rams @ Seattle Seahawks
Everything tells me that the Seahawks will win this game, but just like last week with the Saints, I've got a gut feeling to pick the Rams to get their first win. Marc Bulger and Isaac Bruce are back healthier, and the Leonard Leap has maybe its last week to posterize before Steven Jackson comes back. The Rams are going to roll off some wins before the season ends, I feel. Rams 31, Seahawks 27.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos
Everything, EVERYTHING tells me the Steelers win this game. The Broncos run defense is abysmal and the Steelers love to run with Willie Parker. The Broncos are missing their best playmaker in Javon Walker, in a game against a good Steelers defense. But I'm going with the gut feeling again, it's telling me the Broncos will win this game. The Broncos are desperate for a win, and Mike Shanahan and the team have spent two weeks getting ready for this game. You don't want Mike Shanahan having that much time to gameplan against you, especially when he beat you the year before. Meanwhile Jim Bates has had more time to work on the defense and get things gelled. And the Broncos are playing at home, I think they come out of Sunday Night Football with a great and much-needed win. Broncos 24, Steelers 20.

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Great Monday night game between the two division rivals. The Jags are going to be pumped up with emotion in this game, but I think maybe too much emotion at times, as it might in some penalties and turnovers. The Colts, and the defense especially, remembers fully well what happened the last time they played in that stadium. The defense, offense, and special teams play better this time around for the Colts to get the tough win on the road. Colts 27, Jaguars 20.

Pls blv, yoda.

Just checked, Mike Shanahan's record following a bye is 9-3. The last loss was in 2002 against Oakland, since then it's 4-0 with last year's game being a 13-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens last year.

Glad to see the Bills and Broncos pull off the wins. The Rams, well, not so much. And the Bears won a critical game on the road without a score from GOAT return man Devin Hester, good for them.

Eh I had an average Week, but average isn't good enough in a Week where many people did outstanding. A lot of guys really made up some ground with their picks from this Week..

I was correct in questioning Warner's effectiveness, as the Skins Defense forced 3 turnovers on him. However giving up that late surge to the Cards was a concern, even though they went into that soft Prevent Defense they almost let the Cards come within a botched 2 point conversion from sending this one into Overtime.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints - Still really nervous about this game, I think maybe this Saints team may have found themselves during that win in Seattle. But they could still very easily revert back to their form from the first 4 games.

As expected the game was a lot closer than I would've liked and could've went both ways. Thankfully we landed on the right side of the coin for this one. Beating a reeling Atlanta team by only 6 at home, with their starting QB injured after 1 half isn't impressive and shows the Saints still have quite a lot of work to do before people can proclaim them "back"...

I ignored the obvious warning signs because I was intimidated by Buffalo's record. In retrospect it was a foolish thing to do; without Heap, McAlister, and a banged up Ray Lewis the Ravens just weren't the same, and the Bills were desperately looking for a win at Home after that Dallas debacle.

The Vikings kept it relatively close but in the end the team with the superior talent level pulled away. Giving Adrian Peterson only 12 carries is puzzling..

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins - New England has had some troubles with the Dolphins in the past, but I don't see any troubles for them this Sunday. This is a declining Defense, and a sputtering Offense. Not to mention Tom Brady is on a historic pace.

No troubles here.. New England breezed through this game.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants - I still think the Niners Offense will continue to struggle under Dilfer, and the Giants have significantly improved over the course of the season.

Trent Dilfer who committed 4 turnovers will be relegated back to the bench, while the Giants Defense continues to harass Quarterbacks. 2 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, 6 sacks..

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions - the Bucs running game worries me, but I trust Garcia's consistency and efficiency, he hasn't thrown an Int all year and him and Galloway should have some opportunities against the Lions Defense.

Whiffed on this one, no explanation for why.. the Bucs really disappointed me I thought even despite some injuries they could go on the road and handle the Lions. Have to give some more credit to Detroit though... they play much better at Home this year and I overlooked that.

Did not foresee Matt Schaub being knocked out of the game...twice. But none the less I gave a struggling Texans team too much credit, even still I was a miraculous comeback that came up 1 point short.. away from getting this one.

I needed this upset pick, I haven't been hitting on my upsets in a while. KC's Defense did what I expected them to do, and a timely Huard to Bowe connection but the Chiefs up for good.

The Bengals really waited until their backs were right up against the wall before they started to fight back but they pulled through. The Jets came out and surprised me with that early lead..but they let this one get away.

I just about had this one in the bag.. when Brian Griese preceded to orchestrate a game winning 97 yard drive. I thought Westbrook would be a bigger factor in this one, and the Eagles red-zone execution really disappointed.

The Seahawks don't really impress me, but they weren't going to drop 2 straight at home, especially to a reeling Rams squad.

Really wasn't expecting this.. but I'll give myself a pass a lot people missed on this one. Denver was struggling, and banged up, while the Steelers were on a roll. and the Broncos just came out and played a better game.

I liked the Jags coming into this game, but they aren't on the Colts level just yet. Having Garrard, and Jones-Drew nicked up hurt a lot. The Colts Defense looks legit.
