Been watching a ton of dexter and mad men lately...both shows are good. Dexter is my #2 all time behind "the wire"...mad men is good to watch...but I can't get into it like the others.

BTW after starting off season 6 even more terrible that 4 and 5...I've stopped watching nip/tuck....the show has lost it...and it's too bad because seasons 1-3 were pretty damn entertaining to watch...the show has just went down hill since the carver is gone...plot is just trash now.

I'd agree that Nip/Tuck has fallen off but, it's still not that bad, imo. Still gets a weekly watch from me. Still has lots of sex, violence, and dirty jokes. haha. They really hurt themselves when they tried to clean it up a bit and lighten it up. Many thought it was too dark but, that is what made it great. This season so far atleast, is better than last season's crap. Interesting to see Liz becoming a center piece of the show after being more of a secondary character for 5 seasons.

There are at least 3 shows on TV funnier than 30 Rock.

With The Colbert Report being #1, 2 and 3.

I haven't seen season 3 yet (I'm guessing like me you don't have Showtime), but I thought season 2 was outstanding. I wasn't sure where they were going to go at some times, but the acting and storyline in season 2 was just amazing.

I watched Chuck for the first time before Heroes this week and I didn't find it funny at all. The only part I laughed at was when the Bus clotheslined a dude. I also checked out Burn Notice for the first time and it was a lot better than I expected. It earned a spot on my DVR.

I like the CBS block, big bang theory's good nerd humor, charlie sheen and the kid are great together on 2 and 1/2 men and NPH makes How I met your mother awesome. It's always sunny did have a mediocre run, but they're always patchy for me. I still consider those in the top tier of comedies because there's no show on tv that has me laughing my ass off throughout an episode. South Park still has some great moment but they haven't had a great episode inlike two seasons.

Daily Show/Colbert are different in my eyes as well because writing a show like that for 4 days a week is pretty tough along with a different kind of comedy. It's why both of those shows have large writing staffs and you have to hold them in a different category as a show like 30 Rock or Psych.

Two and a Half Men has started to go downhill, but Charlie sheen and the kid are awesome, along with Berta. Anytime Berta is on the screen it is constant laughter.

Sheldon is just hilarious in BBT, I can't stop laughing at his ridiculousness.

NPH is the best character in a comedy right now. Without him, the show would be nothing. This season isn't as good as previous seasons, but it is still one of my favorite shows.

The season finale for Sunny was awesome. Nightman/Dayman was just pure genius. The part about stealing the "boys hole" had me cracking up.

Family Guy is awesome while in a certain state of mind... It is probably the lowest on that last list. But when you just want to veg out and watch something that you don't have to think, it is great.

I have respect for Seth McFarlane the person, but I've never been into Family Guy. I just think it's a tacky show now, it was much cooler when it was cancelled. It's better than a lot of shows on TV though, which may or may not say much.

Which brings me to my first career brain aneurysm...I watched Howie Do It. I'm quite certain that this show is like an hyperbolic Jaywalking segment. They spoofed "Antiques Roadshow" in which they convinced someone who will undoubtedly die from low brain activity that a fellow "Howie worker"'s urn that consisted of his wife's ashes, actually shattered. They also convinced people they were drinking ****...literally. Of course last but not least, they convinced an even bigger dumbass than the first guy that he was trapped in a cell for 365 days as part of a new reality show.

I understand in the moment you can get caught up and mixed up, but I'm pretty sure the human race deserves to die in 2012 because of shows being greenlighted like this.

Sincerest apologies to those who are fans. Really.

In other news, NBC is great on Thursday nights still.

Well here's the typical episode of Family Guy.

-Chris has a crush.
-Peter says "Man, it's better than the last crush he had!"
:Flashes back to Chris making an incestous shuffle to a family member"
-Stewie wants to kill Lois.
-*** joke regarding Stewie.
-Meg is hated.
-Someone viciously hits Meg.
-"Too Soon?" joke that's more stupid than insulting. "What's the deal with that dead goose that died 'cause of that plane?!?"
-Brian wants to have secks with Lois.
-Story ends with Chris's crush..dying.

The other shows have better writing and you can tell.

Meh I blame the producers for what happened to the Simpsons. They did whatever they could to continue putting it on TV. They were out of ideas. So lets just bring in celebrity guest stars as much as possible to generate ratings. Then they made Homer soooooo pathetic. He would end up crying in a corner every episode. He was always sort of pathetic in the way he was so stupid and got into crazy situations, but they turned him into depressingly pathetic.

It's like they took the worst parts of Homer and amped them up. How is watching/hearing Homer angrily moan for 15 straight seconds funny? They accentuated and drew out his worst nuances.

I watched Fringe after House one day. It seemed like a mix between Heroes and House. I love House, and used to like Heroes.

I hated Fringe. I didn't really care for any of it.

I introduced Arrested Development to a friend last night. Watched about 3-4 episodes. I think its round 3 or 4 of Arrested Development time. The $60 I spent on all 3 seasons is probably one of my best investments.

The main reason Joshua Jackson even wanted to do the show was because, it was being pitched to him as X-Files 2.0 and he is a huge X-Files fan. Well, he could also use the work as well but, w/e. haha.

Me. I like it. I'm pissed that they're going away until April because the plot was starting to come to a head. Most of the episodes have been about a specific "fringe" case to solve with little advancement of the main plot of the show.

I have been watching a lot of episodes of the History Channel series The Universe. It is such a brilliant and incredible show. I would even go as far as to say it is my favorite non fiction program of all time. Some of the **** discussed on the show is mind blowing. Watching an episode about multiple universes last night I actually had an existential crisis (mind you I was under the influence at the time) and I thought that at any moment the world would end. I also started thinking about how in theory (this is not really true at all) I could always have everything I desire since in theory (this is true) there are an infinite amount of universes and in each of these universes every possible outcome of my live is happening. Anyways I cannot really explain that episode without my mind exploding and now I am just rambling so just know the show is awesome and I cannot recomend it enough.

I guess you dont see PBS stuff in Canada but there is a PBS show called NOVA. If you want to have your mind blown, anytime they cover something dealing with Theoretical Physics, you are going to lose your mind. Example: String Theory.

I am not sure. I just got into it 3 days ago by watching a couple eps of season 2 which my friend owned. I then used surfthechannel.com to watch a few more and I downloaded a couple other episodes. I must have spent 6 hours watching the show yesterday. I believe season 3 is halfway through right now so if you check the History channel website you should be able to find the time.

I agree that every season of Dexter wasnt as good as the previous. I loved the first 2, but didn't enjoy the 3rd all that much. To me it delved too far away from Dexter being a sociopath and involved too much cop & baby mama drama.

And his sister really annoys me, anytime the scenes are purely about her I roll my eyes.

The contrast ratio is not the greatest. I don't know if I would trust RCA as far as making a great TV goes. You should be able to see how good it is on display so if it does look amazing to you than I would say go for it but personally I would probably not get that one.

I live in a pretty small town unless I want to drive pretty far I don't have many options I don't really want to spend that kinda money online.

If you are looking for a TV that will cost you about 700 I would say just get yourself a very good 32 inch TV. You can probably get a top of the line 32 inch LCD for 700 if you shop around. I have a Samsung 32 inch now and my friend just bought a 42 inch LCD Samsung and paid about 2000 for the whole home entertainment set and I don't even think my TV is that much worse and I bought it 6 months earlier and for 1300 dollars cheaper. So I don't know, keep looking untill you fins something you really like.

But you can tell he is a bit nervous. Show will be great IMO.

He has his audience licking very random objects. Only can go up from here.

Yes and I think that is a bit of a problem with this first show. You want to screw up with a bunch guests no one cares about, find how you can connect with audience.

I guess so, considering DeNiro is as hard a guest as he will have, but he should be cared about. Bad interview though, DeNiro rarely looked his way, but that skit shows what I believe is the friendship between him and Fallon

I had a couple of friends refer it to me a couple of days ago..I watched the first two episodes....it's something I'd watch if I was bored and didn't wanna go on the internet and find something better to watch....but I wasn't overly impressed...just curious if others were fans or not.

I'm looking in to getting my first HDTV (I Know What Took So Long) any ways any tips reviews or what ever would be great no bigger then 42".

This is the one I'm leaning towards.

RCA 42" Class Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9188652

Thoughts?

The contrast ratio is not the greatest. I don't know if I would trust RCA as far as making a great TV goes. You should be able to see how good it is on display so if it does look amazing to you than I would say go for it but personally I would probably not get that one.

We went with the RCA and I'm very happy with it won't have HD till monday :( but even with out it I'm very happy with the picture.

Another stupid question but I'm a noobie I had some one tell me its not good to play video games on a flat screen is that true?

I can't see how it would hurt it?

You can play games on all LCD's. You should not play games on cheaper Plasma TV's. You should be fine.

Breaking Bad T-minus 2 minutes! If you haven't seen this show, get on the bandwagon. Bryan Cranston cooking and selling meth because he is dying of incurable cancer... Needs to save money for his 40+ pregnant wife and son with cerebral palsy. Oh can't forget he's a chem teacher who is cooking and selling meth with one of his high school drop out students. That's it in a nut shell. This show is so eerily satisfying.

I highly doubt HBO would cancel EB&D what I worry about is that perhaps McBride/Ferrell and Co. only intended for it to be a 6 episode event and bail out on making anymore seasons. That would blow, the show is great though, so quotable...

When McBride fired Stevie from being his personal assistant:

"I wish we would get into a car crash right now. A ************* car crash. I wish we would crash right now and die and then we could live in heaven."

I didn't realize it was only 6 episodes, so next week is the final one? That sucks.

Also, Breaking Bad IMO is the best TV Drama since Deadwood, and the best non pay cable show since the early seasons of Lost. If you haven't seen it yet, go get the season 1 DVD or watch it online, is it so worth it.

This last episode was the best one yet and I can't wait to see which direction this series is going to take.
