Psych season premiere on Friday!!!

Don't forget Monk!

This week has some pretty kickass television, and it's all on USA.

Thursday: Burn Notice/Royal Pains
FridaY: Psych/Monk

It's too bad that it's the summer finale of Burn Notice or that'd be a crazy good two nights of TV. Oh well. Psych is back!

Anyone watch the Life and Times of Tim on HBO?

Have they started showing the 2nd season? I've seen most of the first, probably missed a few episodes, and the show is pretty damn funny.

Yes they had a season 5 last year which was a below average season but still had a couple pretty funny episodes..

A few new episodes that are supposed to be in season 6..

The episodes are still great, but it doesn't seem like the overarching plot of Burn Notice (a spy who has been blacklisted and dumped in Miami) is going to go anywhere. Looking at where Michael Weston is at the start of the season and where he is at the summer finale, I don't see a difference.

The show is still very entertaining, but the story seems to be going in a giant loop.

I agree, but that doesn't mean they don't make it a damn entertaining loop.

There are many different ways it can go, but I really like how this season wrapped up. I'm not going to give anything away, but it was the ending I was hoping for.

Eventually he'll have to get back in, because that has been the focal point of the show for three seasons, but right now I'm happy just being along for the ride.

Can't wait until the winter. I need me some more Burn Notice.

Burn Notice summer finale was awesome. I'd be happy if it was the season finale.

I was satisfied with the finale, then again I knew it was coming back with the winter of 09-2010 with all new episodes.

Predictably, they :

-- Got starcrossed lovers Fiona & Michael back together (such as it is)
-- Didn't kill off anyone in Fiona's family as they will bring the brother, etc. back in future
-- Didn't send Fiona back to Ireland
-- Didn't sell the Weston family home
-- Killed Strickler, he reeked of betrayal & was stringing Mike Weston along
-- Killed Diego, one less steppingstone for Mike to nullify the burn notice & keep him on the outside looking in

However, last season there were some real reaches in the episode plotlines & repeats of previous episodes' plots (see the interrogation episodes, the Irish international criminal thugs all in black reprised the Ukrainian international thugs after Micheal in the Everglades, etc).

It looks like the writers are going blank having to come up with new stuff, writing episodes customized for the guest star of the wk, it happens to even #1 rated shows all the time. Here I think they shot their bolt with Michael confronting The Mgmt. about getting back in with the end of season 2 & jumping out of the helicopter into the Gulf Stream at the start of season 3, it made it clear he was being kept in the cold for some unknown purpose, maybe using him to eliminate their other rogue agents, he's done in about 3-4 of them with Stickler by now.

I also predict expansion of the Detective Paxson role as a Weston ally in the future; he's already apprehended a major criminal for her as the extension of an olive branch to the Miami PD

They have maintained their core values & characters & are continuing with what made them a no. 1 drama in the 1st place. BTW, where are the Best Supporting Actor Emmys for Bruce Campbell & Sharon Gless? They are golden for this series. They take up the slack left by the lack of experience of former runway supermodel Gabrielle Anwar & Jeffrey Donovan.

So I've watched a few episodes of TrueBlood, I'd heard good things and after a few episodes I have to say, I'm not that impressed.

I haven't been hooked at all through about four episodes, and all I can think about is how much like xmen this is. Whether it is Compton's resemblance to Wolverine, as well as his abilities, or the whole cure/trueblood thing. Oh, and Anna Pacquin of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if her brother turns into a vampire just because he hates them so much or something typical like that.

Variety reports that comedian Louis C.K. has quietly shot a pilot for FX. Provisionally titled Louie, the trade says the show is based on Louis C.K.’s current life as a divorced father of two. Actors play his ex-wife, kids and friends, and episodes in the show would be built from both stand-up routines and sketches. The show sounds a lot like Lucky Louie, C.K.’s previous show which ran on HBO.

God I hope the shows gets picked up.

I am confident there is more to Eric and Godric's relationship then we are being let on. Also, its really only a matter of time before the triangle forming between Eric/Bill/Sookie evolves into something larger. Cant wait to see where that goes, because when I read about the books, some interesting stuff happens there. I wont ruin it, but research it if you want. I know they dont follow the books exclusively on the show, but they do take some elements from it. So who knows. The showdown in the church was ******* brilliant though.

Meh, he seems to be on the depressed side and his dialouge would lead one to believe, he wont last long. I wouldnt be surprised if he went willingly or something like that. I think he's dead before the season ends.

Plus, he knew what the dudes in the church planned to do to him and he didnt do anything about it. Actually seemed pretty willing until they tried to hurt Sookie, and Eric showed up.

I wouldnt count Maryanne out. She very well could be older than Godric, from what Daphne said about her it seems likely that she is. The full range of her powers are completely unknown too.

Im anxiously awaiting what happens when Eric and the vampires become aware of her, they set it up earlier with her attack on Sookie and an investigation into her being started. Not to mention shes bound to come in contact when Sookie returns and possibly still has some kind of venom or something in her from the clawing.

Anyways really good episode. I quite like Godric as well, if he dies it better be fraking fantastic.

I agree with you. Moth sounds like a Michael Bay guy, explosions!~~!!.

This was absolutely one of my favorite True Blood episodes. The scene with Jason and Sookie was great. The entire ending was amazing in my opinion, a side of Eric that most likely won't be seen again. Then Godric with Sookie...

It seems Bill may be pushed out of the picture in favor of Eric, which could be a huge part of the series as well. I could see Sookie leaving Bill, followed by Bill returning to his maker and becoming a hunter once again; possibly the next villain.

Oh yeah, I'm a huge Michael Bay fan. :/

True Blood isnt bad but, when it slows down, it's an R rated Twilight. The acting/dialogue is straight cheese. When it takes itself a little too seriously, I lose interest. Seems more like comedy. I'm not as big of a fan as you guys so, I see the show in a different light. Some episodes are alright, others are way too corny, uneventful, or slow imo.

You can also add Anna Paquin to the list of actors who are terrible in this. The Sookie character is a moron. She's pretty annoying most of the time.

Don't take these comments as me hating it. Cause I dont, it's not bad. I watch it every week now and I've liked some of the episodes a lot. But, I dont see it as consistently great as other seem to think it is.

This is apparently what happened in the books. Ive never read them, but I read up on the differences between the show and the books, and Sookie/Eric's relationship is one of them. Oh, and in the books, Eric can fly :/. Either way, Eric is awesome. That scene at the beginning where he tricked Sookie was awesome.

Another interesting theory I have is that Jason will be made a vampire before Sookie. That bit about him not wanting to feel anything makes me think that eventually, he will be turned. I know its a leap, but I think that would be a really interesting turn of events.

Also, just finished the episode. Funny to see the very short Godric standing next to Eric, who is pretty tall. Made for an interesting dynamic there at the end. Skarsgaard is far and away the best actor on the show, and it isnt even close. That last bit was really good.

Overall, good episode. I wanna see what happens when the vampires meet Maryann though.

How long before they introduce other supernaturals into the show? I remember Bill or maybe Sam saying something about how there were Werewolves in the world as well. I am thinking eventually those, and maybe some other things, make an appearance. I certainly hope not, because I would hate for the show to digress into some sort of supernatural smorgasbord, but I think it will happen eventually, especially after Maryann gets taken out and they need a new villain.

In book three, they encounter werewolves, and considering how the seasons (thus far) roughly follow the books, I am guessing that season three will introduce them.

Go research it, the comparisons are quite apt. And True Blood has quite the female following. The fact that it is R, though and doesnt take itself as seriously as Twilight is what sets it apart. I've never seen Twilight but, I know plenty of people that have and watch True Blood regularly. They're always bringing up comparisons as well. Not something any dude would want to hear but, they do have a lot in common. Or go check out the who ripped off who parts on the IMDB forums or just google, "comparisons". It's all interesting to read. Comparisons are unavoidable but, there are a lot there.

That being said, I'll watch True Blood every week but, have zero interest in ever seeing a Twilight movie.

That 70's Show (The first 7 seasons...that last one without Eric and Kelso doesnt count) is one of the funniest things Ive ever watched in my life. Its right up there with Its Always Sunny, Scrubs, and Arrested Development when it comes to sitcoms. I just rewatched all 7 seasons, and its amazing. Say what you want about Ashton Kutcher, but he rocked the hell out of that role and was one of the funnier people on TV for a long time.

Speaking of Scrubs, i just rewatched all of it too. Its only gets better the more you watch it. Probably my 2nd fave sitcom of all time (behind Its Always Sunny). The finale made me sad, but the last 2 minutes are some of the best TV ive seen in a long time.

And what the hell was that thing Sookie did? I almost forgot she had powers, that aspect of the show has been heavily ignored in Season 2, especially in comparison to Season 1. I love that people are starting to return to town and a climax to this whole Maryann thing is nearing. Loved the ending, I swear every week True Blood leaves you with that cliffhanger making you willing to kill a man to see the next ep :)

I'm not a big tv series watcher. I've been catching True Blood, Hung, and Entourage weekly. But normally I'd just watch Nip/Tuck which has fallen off and isnt even worth it on most nights. I think I need to buy the Dexter seasons. I've seen two episodes of it and thought it was great.

I'm anxiously awaiting the return of South Park and FUTURAMA at the moment.

The guy jumped in a pit of tar just to show people like YOU how to get out just in case you fell in.

Yeah, in the desert, stranded, eventually you'll have to drink your own piss. People don't drink their own piss for no reason, figured if you watched enough you'd know that. even the almighty Les. Bear knows more just from his special training.

I don't get how people don't know this.

Bears show is strictly to show you how to survive and stay on the move to find civilization, that's it. Les just shows how to stay in one spot and survive. being by yourself with no camera crew doesnt make it "more realistic". The stuff Bear does he can't do with just a camera by himself, he needs a crew.

YOU DON'T DRINK YOUR OWN URINE. You evaporate it to take out the toxins your body has already released.

Half of Les's show is movement. He just doesn't jump in rushing waters to "Get down the river faster." Bear shows you to inflate your shirt or whatever, and then while hes going down the river he is wearing a life vest. So the suggestion he just had made was false because he needs a vest after saying all you need to do is have a shirt inflated. He does stuff that is dangerous but exciting. In a survival situation the last thing you would want to do is get sweaty or wet. In the night time you will get sick and possible pneumonia. Because he cuts out large animals as if he's Luke Skywalker to live inside is not mean he is 'smarter'.

In a survival situation the last thing you would want to do is get sweaty or wet.which is why he takes his cloths off and lets them dry. or before he goes in water just wears a jacket and puts his shirt inside his bag.

Seriously, have you never heard about how he cheated?

I'm not saying Bear isn't helpful or that the things he does aren't dangerous or whatever, I was just saying that up until he got caught he was presenting himself as doing all these things without any assistance, as if he was alone, all the while he would actually get help or use something that you don't have available in those situations.
