I think you should raise your expectations of what a "superstar" player is.

On the other hand, Jason Hatcher and Kevin Burnett have the potential. Don't know if they'll ever reach it, but the potential for greatness is there.

If a player was drafted in the first round, he really can't be included in these discussions. If you're a first rounder, you're expected to be a star. Period.

Gotta agree with these two for the Giants. Snee probably should have made the Pro Bowl last year and as of now he should make it hands down. I don't think he has been beaten all year and he is just a punishing run blocker.

Tuck has 7 sacks and is really coming into his own in his third year. Read something that says he is finally learing to use his hands better and isn't just relying on brute strength anymore.

Justin Tuck for the Giants. Seriously, this kid is special. He can stuff the run, rush the passer and can line up outside or inside. He can play LE, RE, and UT.

As a situational pass rusher, he has 7 sacks playing UT for us. And when he lines up at a DE spot, he's always creating havoc. He's gonna be a real special player.

And he's consistent. He's had a sack in I believe every game so far. Or at least 6 out of our 7.

I remember I had to fend off a few Vikings' fans who thought Tarvaris Jackson was going to amount to something this past off-season. How a QB who couldn't complete more than 56% of his passes in Div. I-AA could be taken in the 2nd round is beyond me. Now they are paying for that decision.

I still can't comprehend how Childress could tell the media that Jackson was further along than McNabb at the same point. McNabb was winning 10 games with Charles Johnson, Torrence Small, Chad Lewis, and Deuce Staley as his weapons in his second year. Jackson has a better OLine than McNabb at the time, better WR's, and a better RB combo in the same WCO system and has done poop. Terrible soundbite...

There is something in common with 3 of your choices: They've all been in the league for about 4+ years now.

For the Packers, I'd say:
Jolly
Bigby
Colledge
Jones/Jennings

They could all be top end players for Green Bay that the average NFL fan might not know of right now.

Also, as a Notre Dame fan, I'm certainly not surprised that Tuck is on his way to stardom. His ability to play UT, however, is amazing to me. He was in no way, shape or form a player who could play DT coming into the league. I thought he would be a great pass-rusher who might not be bad against the run as a DE. It's great to hear he's doing well all across the D-Line.

Colts: Tony Ugoh

Everytime I have seen the Colts play I have been impressed by the guy, his run blocking is amazing and he is improving all the time in pass protection, so much so he isn't getting any TE or RB help and he is holding up real well.

Tony Ugoh plays soft to me. That's not to say he's not a solid rookie, and obviously a very smart pick by the Colts, but he doesn't strike me as dominant.

Post players who you feel are special talents who fly under the radar...potential superstars

Giants: Justin Tuck and Chris Snee

Two of my favorite younger players in the NFL. Think about it this way...Tuck in 2005 (his draft year) was the perfect 3-4 pass rushing OLB. This year the Giants have played him at DE and UT (in passing downs) and he's looked very good. He's a very good young player.

I like Leon Washington. He'll have a nice cult following his whole career, and he's an explosive playmaker for the Jets. Cotchery is obvious. D'Brick and Mangold are going to be stars at their positions.

Seahawks:

OLB Leroy Hill - Overshadowed by Tatupu and Peterson, but this kid is damn good.
FB Leonard Weaver - Filling in quite nicely for Mack Strong, much better with the ball in his hands, improving blocking skills.
WR DJ Hackett - If he can stay healthy.....

Although we have many players with the potential, nobody from the seahawks. In order to be a superstar you need to be recognized by the media, but ESPN views the pacific northwest as its own continent not worth paying attention to.

Oo forgot about Montgomery. I really like what he has been doing. The main reason our rush defense is so high, and why we can drop back and play coverage, is because of #94.

Not sure if he's been mentioned but Thomas Howard in Oakland is doing some big things already. I see a much more athletic version of Lance Briggs in him.

Except unlike briggs Howard is average against the run, at best.

My giants who I see with probowl potential are:
Justin Tuck, Ross, Kiwi, Smith, Snee and Brandon Jacobs.

Now Jacobs needs to shake his injury issues and smith is still a rookie but the others stand a good shot down the road.

I hate the Redskins but having watched them 3 times this year one guy that really stands out on their defense apart from Taylor and Carter is Rocky McIntosh.

I really didn't like the pick of him at #34 or thereabouts when they took him but he has really good instincts, lays the lumber fairly well and has great speed around the field.

For the Titans...

Cortland Finnegan. This guy is insane and has all the Titans fans in awe. He's 5'10, 188 pounds and was drafted out of Samford in the 7th RD. He played C/FS in college and was also a return man, so he's faster than Moses. He's small, but he is the most physical cornerback the Titans have had in a long time. The kid can hit. Last year as a rookie, he played nickelback and racked up 70 TOT's (55 Solo), 2 sacks, 7 PDef, and also returned a fumble for a TD. This year, he's starting at the LCB position and has 32 TOT's (27 Solo), 1 sack, 8 PDef, and 1 INT. He has at least 1 PDef in every game so far. He's set himself as the #1 CB. He will be someone that everyone will know about soon, cause his star is already twinkling. An absolutely great player.

Atari Bigby... I'll be checking stats Tuesday or Wednesday but before this weekend which was a Packers bye week, he had more tackles than any safety and has made game deciding plays for the Packers. He can be an elite in the box safety.

Chris Harris from the Panthers, the guy has some nice numbers after the Bears traded him due to "strong depth" haha...

Chris Harris has been a nice player for us but unless he can somehow keep up an insane FF rate throughout the rest of his career he'll never be a star. His pass coverage deficiencies have been a bit of an issue, though admittedly not as large of one as I originally thought

Now that I think about it I'm not sure if the Panthers really have anyone who belongs in this thread. Everyone has heard about Richard Marshall already, and he hasn't been as great this year as he was last (though he hasn't been bad by any stretch of the imagination). Jon Beason has looked good, but he's a rookie and a first round draft pick at that

Jeff King will be a solid contributor at TE for a long time in this league I believe, but I doubt he ever reaches even that second tier with the Witten/Cooley/Shockey's of the world.

edit: I do have to say that I have always liked Justin Tuck. In fact, I wanted the Panthers to trade for him last year when it looked like he was blocked by Kiwanuka/Osi/Strahan but alas...
