According to a report from the TV station KDVR in Denver, Chiefs RB Larry Johnson is out for the season. The story said that a source within the Chiefs organization with direct knowledge of the situation has confirmed the injury. Johnson had suffered a mid-foot sprain in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Packers. However, the TV station has reported that Johnson has a broken bone in his foot. Kansas City coach Herm Edwards said Tuesday that Johnson would be highly questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, but Edwards declined to speculate on how long Johnson might be out, saying he did not have enough information.

If the report is accurate, this would be terrible news for Johnson owners. Stay tuned to CBSSports.com for more information, but if you haven't done so already, put in your bid for Priest Holmes or even Kolby Smith. For now, don't plan on having Johnson available for Week 10 against Denver. This does not sound good.

KC needs offensive linemen big time. They will have a great opportunity to draft a good lineman in the first round and they should throw some money at one in FA. They team just needs talent and youth across the board. I'd hate to be in Herm's position in having to rebuild that team.

The defense is rebuilt to an extent just need youth at CB. A young LT and put mcIntosh at RT and have some young guards. mzaybe a qb

LOL...Chill out man

1. This is a rumor...no major news source is reporting
2. It's not the end of the world...we weren't going to win the Super Bowl anyway
3. I fail to see how Holmes can do any worse than LJ behind this horrible O-Line
4. It's not a long term injury, even if it was true

I'm sure you guys could get a LT or CB where you will be drafting at. Maybe Sam Baker or Gosder Cherilus in the first with someone like DeJuan Tribble or Chevis Jackson in the second. And there are some pretty good Offensive Guards that will be FA this year.

if he really is injured the chiefs could grab a LT like Loadholt in the first and still have a high second to spend on another olineman, a corner, a WLB to replace Edwards or a QB of the future in round 2. Making them muxch more threatening for next season.

This is on ESPN (in my fantasy football league)

"The Chiefs are denying a published report that Johnson is out for the season with a broken foot, Fox 4 in Kansas City reports.

Spin: Johnson has all but been ruled out for this week's game against Denver and there's a good chance he's out longer, but it's not clear if his season is officially over. We'll watch the situation closely, but Priest Holmes and Kolby Smith are likely to get more carries in the meantime.

Heading up to the draft a lot of posters claimed that Lynch was going to be a better running back in the NFL. I can't name an exact poster but I'm sure people will back me up on this.

Come on, it was a freak ankle injury. Wasn't like he tore a ligament making a cut or anything.

I still say if LJ had 390 carries last year, 90% of the durability claims wouldn't have come up. 10-20 more in the grand scheme isn't significant but it's just the 400 number itself which hits people for some reason.

If our GM has any thing to say about it it will be Priest if it is up to Herm I say Kolby. I have felt from the start Herm didn't even want Priest around he wants to get younger.

ESPN doesn't know crap. I'd wait until a local paper in KC confirms this report or not. According to ESPN Eli Manning was supposed to miss a month of the season with a seperated shoulder.

If it is only a game or two I think Holmes and Smith can hold there own if it is any more then that we are in trouble.

Did you watch Kolby at Louisville at all? With the opportunity he could end up running away with the starting job. He has size, explosion, great hands and can bounce from a few tackles. I thought he was going to be a good RB.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one, I really do think the Chiefs definitively don't know yet and are waiting for the swelling to subside. We'll see if the results prove that TV report about a broken bone in LJ's foot true.
