Thanks, Windy. You're the man, but no deleting threads, k?
...so next week will be interesting. It may just set the tone for the rest of the season, what with the Philip (the douche) Bauer storyline, the Gredenko/Fayed connection, and where they want to blow the next nuke.

Jack is pretty much walking into hell. Logan was the president last season, he took over after Palmer was assasinated. Like the link Unseen posted says he was part of the David Palmer assasination, along with everyone else and tried to frame Jack for it. He was found out and convicted as guilty for high treasion. I don't know how he is free, probably under house arrest, that would be my guess.

Well, he didn't take over for Palmer... in season 4 President John Keeler, who replaced Palmer as the president after season 3, (he blackmailed him into stepping down from the election) died in a plane crash (I don't exactly recall what happened, but I think it was an assassination on air force one). Then Logan, Keeler's Vice President, took over. In season 5, Palmer gets assassinated because he is finding out about the secret plot with Logan and everyone else. After Logan gets caught, he makes a deal with the government-He doesn't go to jail and america doesn't find out about him being evil and all, and he gives them all the information he has, which he appearently didn't as Graham was like the guy bossing Logan around last season, and now he has info on Gredenko. They never mentioned anything about house arrest, but I am pretty sure if something like this really ever happened, he would be put under house arrest, and be watched over (phone taps, tracers on him, etc).

Pretty right on except from my understanding Keeler isn't dead he was just not capable of running the office and I guess he decided to to pursue presidency anymore. As for next week I am dreading that Logan wants his wife back I had enough of nasty old Marty love.

Didn't they have trouble (like the writers had) to admitting that the President has died, in Season 4? I don't think they would "kill" him off exactly but have him relinquesh power in some capacity would be realistic.
I think Assad will do something in the next episode relating to the assassination attempt. It just seems too simple and obvious for it to work, like no red herring.

I usually get excited when I hear that something is going to happen in "two hours", then I realize that it's the course of a day/hour and that just lets me down as I know it will be TWO weeks before I know, TWO WEEKS! I do think that the drones will launch at the end of an episode as a cliffhanger, though that's obvious. I'm ready for this one to be honest with you, I like the storyline thus far but I don't like all the new CTU people. I liked it better with Tony, Curtis, Edgar and Michelle but I guess you have to keep interest in the show.

24 is going downhill. It is becoming more and more predictable. Season 3 is the best, but now everyone's ********, especially the minor characters. Even Jack was ********. What was he doing after the russian guy confessed? Walking out to tell the russian guys friends that he had confessed? Like they would believe him.
And what was the point of the guy leaving the room jack was in to call CTU, then leave the door open aand turn his back to a somewhat crowded hallway 10 ft away?
This is still the 2nd best show on TV next to Lost, but it won't be for long at this rate.

I love 24, but sometimes they play up the wrong aspects of the show. No one cares about Charles and Martha's relationship. There is no f'ing way that the government would waste their time with all that crap.

Anyways, this being my first season of 24, I can't compare it with other seasons. I will say that this past episode really puts a dour light on the whole season for me. It makes me realize the futility of all of those subplots, and shows how predictable/unrealistic some of this has gotten.
For the woes of the Martha/Charles storyline, the ending was bad. How the heck did a crazy woman who just killed her husband get the wife of the Russian president to make a critical decision about something in a few freakin' minutes? The end of the episode kind of paid the price for the over-drawn filler that was the beginning and middle of it by rushing the story along.

The writers have narrowed down the possible nations with the VP's talk of a "carrier group," though. That doesn't cut alot of nations out, but it's interesting to note. There's Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Bahrain, the U.A.E., Qatar, Kuwait, and Iran. If he was talking about the Mediterranean Sea, that also adds Israel (doubtful!), Lebanon, Turkey, and Egypt to the mix. So essentially, the writers only ruled out Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and the Caucasian nations. Hope I'm not forgetting a nation...

Jack Bauer doesn't jump the shark. He interrogates it by pulling out all of it's teeth, one by one.

The problem with S2 was the Kim back story that dominated half the air time, while proving to be completely superfluous. It was the most irritating side story in 24 history. It was maddening.
Agreed . . . I liked season two with the exception of that storyline. Without it, it may have been the best season. With it, it's third best, IMO.
Season One will remain the best. I don't think it could ever be topped.

And why wasn't the condition of Charles Logan addressed? No confirmation of his death? What was his function this season? That was his grand finale? Quite lame if you ask me.
Yeah, I was thinking about that.
Maybe the writers wanted to ditch the point for this episode just to get the ball rolling on the more pertinent issues.

Audrey dead? About freakin' time. She is among the most annoying characters in the shows history.
Unfortunatly Jack is now on a mission to "revenge" the people who killed her . . . as Michael Scott may say.

As soon as the doctor said "His sister is he" I literally yelled at the TV "NO!" What's next?
"I don't want my brother in this hostile environment"
I can only imagine her reaction when Hayes asks her to risk his life. We will hear a whole hell of a lot of whining.

If Nadia turns out to be the mole, they might as well have Jack Bauer flip off Muhammad while eating bacon, drinking beer, and watching a porno. That would be the only way they could P.O the Muslim community more than they will have.

Good episode. I really like the fact that audrey is dead, it opens up a totally new storyline which id suspect will become a major one in a few episodes. I also like the VP plot.

firstly, rep up. That's just great
Secondly, I find it hard to believe that Nadia is the mole, I assume its Milo or they wouldn't have made such a big deal of the whole password thing. Aslo having the Muslim woman as the mole is just too obvious.

Two things I deducted are;
1. - VP Daniels is one crazy mofo. So much so, I just don't buy it. There is a difference between hard lining, and this.
2. - There is no way Nadia is the informant. I would lose faith in the writers if this was the best they could've come up with. My guess would be Milo.
BigDawg819

Yeah Daniels is too over the top with this insistancy on bombing the Middle East. And I think that maybe there is no mole the Russians remote accessed CTU. But it isn't a season of 24 without a mole......

They need to fix their background checks. Seriously, though, I think Nadia is so obvious it cannot be her. Besides; the show would get uglier without her.

Nadia is not the mole as it's way too obvious, this has been done so many times on 24 that the wrong person is interrogated, just to think of a few season 1 the spanish girl, and I think it was season 4 the lady that was tortured and ended up not being the mole but was later fired for demanding a raise, also with all of the complaints on the show about the portrayals of muslims no way is it her, I'm guessing she gets tortured then we learn it was someone else then they are so sorry, then she quits, same old, same old.

I actually hope it is Nadia. That would surprise us all. Right now, everyone thinks they are doing what they usually do, convict the wrong person and find the right one. Honestly, we all would be shocked if it was Nadia since we all think the mole is Morris or Milo.

I hope the mole is someone we don't know very well. It doesn't always have to be the case of "presumed-good-guy(or girl)-gone-bad-terrorist-informant/accomplice" . . . or does it?

Earlier in the thread, responding to ghettosermon saying it's Milo:
No, it's Morris because of his whiskey. Then Chloe confronts him. Much crying, fighting, and suicidal comments ensue.
And I wouldn't be surprised the least. Maybe his whiskey caused some of the security checks to go by his notice? yeah...
Nadia would be the most interesting choice. Milo would be the typical supposedly-surprising-yet-because-it's-surprising-it's-the-obvious-choice thing.

I know, it's quite shocking really. You might be asking yourself, how can an ordinary college student from Michigan be responsable for aiding terrorists from various countries by feeding them information from a high security United States government facility?
It's simple . . . 24 doesn't follow conventional wisdom. It doesn't concern itself with common sense and rationality. If Jack Bauer can shoot down a helicopter with a handgun, then I surely can be responsable for the destruction of the United States of America and the spark of a major world war, can't I?

If that's the case, then CTU really blows. They are a secret agency yet people are able to hack their computers, and people can just walk right in with one little ID card allowing them to do whatever they want, in one case, release nerve gas into the building.

I hope the mole is Ricky Schoeder's A-hole character. Maybe he set Nadia up or something because she was an easy target with her background. His character could be of Russian decent. Remember the guy who was controlling to drone was Russian, and they seemed like they didn't like working with the Middle Easterns in the first place. So why would their mole in CTU be Middle Eastern?
