I think there was plenty of hype when it was supposed to be released in October and the first official trailer came out in like August, but once people found out it got pushed back to early-mid 2008, they stopped caring and started looking forward to games coming out (i.e. Assassins, COD4, etc.)...where did you hear it's getting pushed back again?

The first official trailer was released in March.

Really? So a current gen game is better than a previous gen game? Who would have thought?

Perhaps we should wait until there is a current generation version of each out before we try to say which is better.

You can watch both trailers for GTA IV here. There has been confirmed 3 total trailers, so one more coming in the future.

Trailer 1 shows that GTA IV is a redesign of GTA III's Liberty City. Liberty City is largely based off of NYC with notable landmarks including: Time Square, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Coney Island, Metlife Building, Brooklyn Bridge, and Central park. All of which are visible [briefly] in the first trailer.

Trailer 2 goes on to show more game play elements like explosions and new a new firearm. The trailer also shows the similarities from past games such as El Bruno and 8-ball. Binco, Sprunk, 24-Seven, Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell were visible from the trailer. Roman was also depicted as another main character.

Confirmed features:

*Main Characters name is Niko.
*Online play although it will not be an MMOG [Mass Multiplayer]. Multiplayer will allow up to 16 players.
*One single load screen at the beginning of every game. No other loading screen will occur. Entering/exiting building, changing islands, etc will result in 0 load screens.
*Airplanes are not flyable. Helicopters are and have the ability to land on every rooftop. One Airport has been confirmed.
*Like other next gen games such as Assassin's Creed, GTA IV will have vertical movement. Climb telephone pools, etc. Also will have crowd interference and the ability to push them.
*Dating is brought back [I'm thinking like GTA: SA]
*Changing the clothes are an option. Hairstyles, physique is not.
*Stealing parked cars will be more difficult. You will no longer be able to open the door and drive away. There will be animation variations in which Niko will approach the vehile, break the window, and hotwire the car without being seen.
*No more wanted stars. Instead there will be a blimp area on the map where you are wanted. The higher your wanted level, the bigger the radius of the blimped area.
*Pedestrians can report crimes like car theft.
*No more pay-n-spray. Niko must change cars in "low key" areas.
*Different and more camera angels.
*Gunfight system will be similar to Gears of War.
*Niko will travel by bus, taxi, and trains as well. Bus and train schedules are posted. Niko can pay the taxi driver more to go faster.
*Every street will be named.
*Cell phones and the interwebs will be used in the game by Niko.

Some guy in gamestation said that the 360 version has been ready for time, but the ps3 one is/was a mess and is the reason for the delay???

I don't see any reason why they can't hit the q2 deadline...obviously I'm not behind the scenes...but they have a huge following...and have had almost a year and a half to get it up and going..

It's been confirmed only 3 trailers will be released so if they're releasing the last one on the 6th, then the game probably got through it's "hickups" and it should be released first or second Q for sure...

So far I think only one voice actor has been confirmed. She's some european pop singer I've never heard of, her name is Ruslana.

i doubt they do, gta 3 was one of the greatest storylines, and they didnt need big name actors, or even a protagonist who spoke. but i could be wrong.

GTA 3 didn't have any HUGE stars, but it did have recognizable voice actors:
